  Hi, I could not figure out how to enter text into HTML Editor using Watin. I tried //ie.TextField(Find.ById("htmlDetail_ctl06_ctl04")).TypeText("ABCD"); But got error: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus. Can you give some example how to enter text into AJAX HTML Editor using watin please? • SyncFramework upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0 Sql Server CE database change tracking issue

  I'm trying to upgrade an application that uses Sync Framework 1.0 to synchronise a SqlServerCe database with SqlServer 2005. On the client, the existing database already has change tracking enabled, but when the sync is initiated SyncFramework 2.0 fails to find the last Sync Received anchor and then tries to re=initialize the Change tracking, which fails. I get the exception... {System.Exception} = {"The specified change tracking operation is not supported. To carry out this operation on the table, disable the change tracking on the table, and enable the change tracking."} It seems like all I can do is delete the local database and recreate it. Which is not a great solution for us, since some of the data in the clients database is not synced with the server, and our users would prefer not to loose this data in the upgrade. Is there any reason why SyncFramework 2.0 cannot locate the existing Last received sync anchor?

  I'm setting up a net.tcp WCF service using instructions here: http://blogs.msdn.com/swiss_dpe_team/archive/2008/02/08/iis-7-support-for-non-http-protocols.aspx One of the steps says to do the following: "If you open the IIS7 management console and you look at the advance setting of our IIS7HostedService Web Application, you will see that in the Enabled Protocols section just http is defined. You now have to add net.tcp (separated by a comma), so that our service will be able to respond also to TCP requests." This is fine, but what if I want to use the Cassini / VS2010 ASP.NET development server to debug (hitting F5 or cntrl-F5)? I don't think there's a way to change the settings in that IIS. Or is there? Are other programmers just so awesome that they don't need to go through the debugger? Or do they use wsHttpBinding?

  Hi, I've decided to implement my own interface for connecting two devices running my game, as opposed to using the GKPeerPickerController. This is actually working quite well. But I just realised that in my creating of the GKSession I'm not actually specifying whether the connection should be Wireless or Bluetooth. I have an option in my interface to let the user specify which connection method they'd like to use. How do I tell GKSession whether I want it to connect via Bluetooth or Wireless? I think what is currently happening is that it defaults to Wireless if wireless is enabled otherwise it uses Bluetooth. But I'd like to let the user specify which connection method, is this possible? • Odd Drag and drag bug in nested attributes Rails

  I've got this weird bug when trying to use drag and drag for two models (one nested within another). I've a category model which has many apps. In my category index page, I tried use "content_tag_for" to sort categories and apps within each category. But for some odd reason only the first element has drag, drop enabled. I can drag and drop categories all I want, but I can't drag the app in the second category, just the first category. Copy and paste gets ridiculously hopeless with HAML, so here's a Pastie instead. I made a sample app on heroku for you to check out here. Drag and drag work for both category and app, so I'm guessing it has to do something with the ul or li. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

• Store and retrieve images from file system instead of database

  Hi I need a place to store images. My first thought was to use the database, but many seems to recommend using the filesystem. This seems to fit my case, but how do I implement it? The filenames need to be unique, how to do that. Should I use a guid? How to retrieve the files, should I go directly to the database using the filename, make a aspx page and passing either filename or primary key as a querystring and then read the file. What about client side caching, is that enabled when using a page like image.aspx?id=123 ? How do I delete the files, when the associated record is deleted? I guess there are many other things that I still haven't thought about. Links, samples and guidelines are very welcome!

• jQuery trigger uploadify click event not working in firefox FF

  I want to select an option on a drop down box and for this to trigger the uploadify available to jQuery which lets you upload a file. My solution works in IE7 but not FF. When you change the drop down it should show a window to browse for a file to upload. In FF nothing appears. In IE everything works. • Building TimeZone object in Java

  I build a Java TimeZone object using the TimeZone String like GMT-8,GMT,PST,EST etc. This did not consider whether the timezone is daylight saving enabled or not.Now there is a requirement to include this check and instead of giving the input as PDT or EDT the daylight saving is given as a seperate flag.I am not sure whether TimeZone has a direct method to change the dayLight saving property of that TimeZone. So if I get an input like PST and DaylightSaving as true then I have to change the string as PDT.Whats even worse is sometimes I will get inputs like GMT-8 or GMT-6 with Day light flag as either true or false. Is there a way out ? What is a good, easy way to redirect users to the mirror site if they don't have javaScript enabled? That is if I am using the settings for defaultProxy for my Winforms v3.5 application, and set a proxy server address here, exactly where does/can the username/password come from? Or in other words where does the framework source the "default credentials" for a winforms application running on the client PC? <defaultProxy enabled="true|false" useDefaultCredentials="true|false" <bypasslist> … </bypasslist> <proxy> … </proxy> <module> … </module> /> Background - apparently ClickOnce can use this for a client side application, however I'm trying to work out where click once would get this defaultCredential from, for a user who is running the clickonce install for my winforms application.

  I think my HDD is fried... Could someone confirm or help me restore it? I was using Hardware RAID 1 Configuration [2 x 160GB SATA HDD] on a CentOS 4 Installation. All of a sudden I started seeing bad sectors on the second HDD which stopped being mirrored. • How to use role-hierarchy in Spring Security 3 with Spring EL?

  I want to use @PreAuthorize annotation on service methods with Spring Security. One of requirements is to use role-hierarchy. But by default it is not enabled. I found that in SecurityExpressionRoot class ("the base class for expression root objects") there is a property roleHierarchy. The class actually does use this property for methods like hasRole() and hasAnyRole(). I suppose that if I supply it with my own RoleHierarchy bean I will be able to use @PreAuthorize annotations with hierarchical roles. How can I inject my hierarchy bean into SecurityExpressionRoot?

  Hi, I have a telerik grid which is performing operations like searching,sorting,filtering etc. To make customers happy, we put this control in an ajax panel for seamless experience. Now, we added a new functionality to the grid where the customer can download the entire row information as a csv file. As the response is a file, ajax panel is trying to parse the output and throwing the following exception: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near '?'.   I am BATTLING to get the selected values (please note VALUES not TEXT) from a Winforms Listbox that has multi-select enabled and has been bound to a database table getting the Name (as DisplayMember) and ID (as ValueMember) - I need the ID of the selected items. The listbox control has properties for SelectedValue to get one of the selected items values, but not for all selected items values. The SelectedItems property returns a Listbox.SelectedObjectCollection from which I cannot seem to extract the VALUES of the items. Please help! Thanks.

• How to return model state from child action handler in ASP.NET MVC

  In my blog engine, I have one controller action that displays blog content, and in that view, I call Html.RenderAction(...) to render the "CreateComment" form. When a user posts a comment, the post is handled by the comment controller (not the blog controller). If the comment data is valid, I simply return a Redirect back to the blog page's URL. If the comment data is invalid (e.g. comment body is empty), I want to return the ViewData with the error information back to the blog controller and through the blog view to the CreateComment action/view so I can display which fields are bad. I have this working fine via AJAX when Javascript is enabled, but now I'm working on the case where Javascript might be disabled. If I return a RedirecToAction or Redirect from the comment controller, the model state information is lost. Any ideas?

• Response.TransmitFile() with UNC share (ASP.NET)

  In the comments of this page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/12s31dhy.aspx ..it says that TransmitFile() cannot be used with UNC shares. As far as I can tell, this is the case; I get this error in Event Log when I attempt it: TransmitFile failed. File Name: \\myshare1\e$\file.zip, Impersonation Enabled: 0, Token Valid: 1, HRESULT: 0x8007052e The suggested alternative is to use WriteFile(), however, this is problematic because it loads the file into memory. In my application, the files are 200MB, so this is not going to scale. Is there a method in ASP.NET for streaming files to users that's: scalable (doesn't read entire file into RAM or occupy ASP.NET threads) works with UNC shares Mapping a network drive as a virtual directory is not an option for us. I would like to avoid copying the file to the local web server as well. Thanks

• Configuring gcc compiler switches in Qt / QtCreator / QMake

  I recently tried to use Qt Creator 1.3.2 / Qt 4.6.2 / gcc 4.4.0 (32-bit version) on Windows 7 (64-bit) to compile an application using some of the experimental C++0x extensions and encountered the following (fatal) error: This file requires compiler and library support for the upcoming ISO C++ standard, C++0x. This support is currently experimental, and must be enabled with the -std=c++0x or -std=gnu++0x compiler options. In my search for a solution, I came across this thread, and added the following to the .pro file: CXXFLAGS += -std=c++0x but that didn't seem to make a difference. So, I expect there's some tag I need to add to the .pro (project) file, but I've never messed with the gcc compiler switches in Qt / QMake / QtCreator before, and am uncertain about the proper invokation / incantation. So, my question is how do you set gcc compiler switches when using QtCreator / QMake / Qt?

• Tomcat cookies not working via my ProxyPass VirtualHost

  Hi there. I'm having some issues with getting cookies to work when using a ProxyPass to redirect traffic on port 80 to a web-application hosted via Tomcat. My motivation for enabling cookies is to get rid of the "jsessionid=" parameter that is appended to the URLs. I've enabled cookies in my context.xml in META-INF/ for my web application. When I access the webapplication via http://url:8080/webapp it works as expected, the jsessionid parameter is not visible in the URL, instead it's stored in a cookie. When accessing my website via an apache2 virtualhost the cookies doesn't seem to work because now "jsessionid" is being appended to the URLs. How can I solve this issue? • MKMapView within UITableView

  I have a MKMapView within a UITableviewCell and I want to be able to disable scrolling of the table view when the user starts to drag within the map view. My plan had been to override the MKMapView touchesBegan/Moved etc methods and if they were called to then disable scrolling in the parent view. Scrolling in the parent view would be enabled again only when the touches in the MKMapView ended or were cancelled. My problem is that the touchesBegan/Moved methods inside MKMapView are not called - the problem is also discussed here: stackoverflow discussion. My table view is within a tab control, so I don't think I can extend UIWindow the way they describe, as there are several views that could be within the window, depending on which tab is active. How can I access the MKMapView touch events please?
