  • Sharepoint 2010, 404 error after installation

    Running Windows Server 2008 Standard R2, SQL Server 2008 Enterprise, Team Foundation Server 2010, I installed Sharepoint Server 2010 (single server). It installed correctly, and the wizard configured it without errors. When accessing the sharepoint server through http://localhost/ I get a 404 error. I also get a 404 when trying to access the admin interface on port 42620. Sharepoint, TFS and Reporting services are the only application on my IIS. NOT sharing the same port, so that can't be the error. Do you have any ideas what the problem can be? Is there some way that I can debug this?

  • "Not enough memory" error when running Peachtree Accounting 2010 with Logmein

    I setup one of my clients with a Logmein Pro account recently and everything has been running fine so far. Today, however, my client received an error when they were logged into their work computer remotely and tried to run a report from Peachtree Accounting 2010. The error states: "Not enough memory to run" and she can't print the report. I looked online and found another user that had this same problem with Peachtree 2010 when connected via Logmein here. The error doesn't happen if the user runs the report while sitting at her work computer, but it always happens when connected via Logmein. I know most of you will push it off as just a Logmein issue, which I'm sure it is - but I would like any constructive input from anyone else who may have had the same or similar problem.   • Large mailbox in Outlook 2007 takes ages to index

    In our company each user has a single mailbox and all email they have ever sent/received is in that mailbox. We don't do archiving to PST and we thought that was the way forward. The problem we now have is if someone switches to another PC for the day and opens Outlook, it has to download all emails first to that PC (cached mode) but even then when they try to search for something, Outlook says items are still being indexed. One user has over 100,000 items to be indexed and it's been saying that for about a week! As a temporary workaround I have turned off instant searching which allows them to search for anything, but it takes time to filter through, and Outlook doesn't exactly indicate if it's still searching for something, so in most cases the user thinks the search isn't working when really it is and it's just taking time to populate the results. I need a solution that allows the mailbox to be indexed really quickly if the user has to login to another PC. Are we best using Online Mode instead of Cached Mode or is there another way around this? Thanks in advance.

  • Lync server 2010 Active Directory Preparation with a Windows Server 2003 DC

    I'm trying to install Lync server 2010 but i'm stuck for a while now with the "Active Directory Preparation" part of the Lync server 2010 installation. The "Prepare Schema" fails with the following error: "Step 1: Prepare Schema Run once per deployment. Extends the schema for Lync Server. Not Available: Failure occurred while attempting to check the schema state. Please ensure Active Directory is reachable." screenshot: https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=CB15F1A932B364BE&id=CB15F1A932B364BE%211742 The situation: 1 server with Windows Server 2003 (x86), which is the only Domain Controller (DC) 1 server with Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) where Lync should be installed. First I have found that the DFL/FFL were not correct: On the DC (server2003) I have changed the Domain Functional Level to Windows Server 2003 and also the Forest Functional Level to Windows Server 2003. If I check these settings on the Server2008 with Active Directory Domains and Trusts, I see indeed that the DFL and FFL are being set to Windows Server 2003. (Windows Server 2003 is the minimum required for Lync server 2010) I tried the Lync AD Preparation again but still got the same message: https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=CB15F1A932B364BE&id=CB15F1A932B364BE%211742 I'm logged in on the Server2008 and Server2003 with the domain administrator account. If I check "Active Directory Users and Computers" and go to the directory Users and watch the properties from the Administrator User then it is also a Member of: Domain Admins Domain Users Enterprise Admins Schema Admins Group Policy Creator Owners The firewall on the server2008 is turned off, still nog working So now my question is: what should I do to make the Lync setup (Active Directory Preparation) work? (I would appreciate clear step-by-step suggestions to check.) Thanks in advance. Update 1: Now I've extended AD successfully on the 2003 DC, using this link: http://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/sloan_jason/Pages/Post.aspx?_ID=2 but when I check the Active Directory Preparation again on the Lync install, it still gives me the same error as in the screenshot I've provided.   • Error setting up Data Protection Manager 2010 Agents / Network "Unauthenticated" in network settings

    I'm not sure if the two are connected but i suspect they are. Basically I'm tring to setup Data Protection Manager 2010 on a fresh install of Server 2008 R2 in a SBS 2003 domain. Everything went fine until trying to install agents across the network. Upon clicking add, i get the following error message: Unable to connect to the Active Directory Domain Services Database. Make sure that the DPM server is a member of a domain and that the controller is running. Also verify that there is network connectivity between the DPM server and the domain controller. ID: 7 As usual (worryingly) the MSDN support for 2010 products is nearly non existant, clicking the error ID simply gives a page not found error. So after 2 days of Googling and trying various fixes (DNS settings, adding permissions to GPO objects, rejoining the domain and many more) I thought I'd ask here in the hope that someone out there may have had this issue before. Any help greatly appreciated!

    I have used Visio 2007 in the past to reverse engineer Oracle databases to get a flow scheme. I believe all Office 2007 products were x86 as well which is where I suspect my issue currently lies. I have since upgraded to Visio 2010 x64 and when I go to reverse engineer something from Oracle it shows up under Installed Visio Drivers but I can't seem to create a data source using it. My assumption here is it is because Oracle doesn't play nicely with x64 and with Visio being compiled as x64 I don't even get the option to use it. Has anyone done this with Visio 2010 x64 and Oracle yet? Or are there other tools you would recommend to reverse engineer and get a model such as the one generated by Visio?

  • php mail not arrives at gmail, not at local server

    The php mail function I am using does not work completely. It will sent mails to gmail easy enough. However, emails routed directly to my internally hosted exchange server are not getting through. The servers/domains are setup is as follows. URLs are registered with Network solutions (www.independentsservice.com & www.isco.net) NS directs all traffic to our ISP (Socket.net). Socket directs as follows: Mail to our local server FTP to our local server HTTP to our website hosted on Chihost.com Traffic to our local server goes through a Watchguard firewall which routes mail traffic to our locally hosted Exchange server. Is there some reason why exchange won't accept these emails? Thanks!

  • SBS 2008 - Add user not seeing AD users (reconnecting or creating new mailbox)

    Using SBS 2008 - completely updated. I was originally trying to create a spam mailbox for quarantine purposes, and when I bring up the "select an existing user" it does not display any of the domain users (other than QB database user accounts installed on their server). I have tried changing the scope and still nothing. Searching reveals nothing either. Then later I noticed that we had (1) disconnected mailbox, and I tried to reconnect it to the AD user - and I got the same results. Help would be much appreciated.

  • VirtuaWin shows Visual Studio 2010 in all Desktops

    I'm using VirtuaWin in Windows 7 to have virtual desktop functionality and I think this program is awesome. There's one small issue, though: on the computer at work, when moving to another desktop it hides all windows in the current desktop, except any windows of Visual Studio 2010. This means that VS 2010 shows up in all desktops, while for all other windows, VirtuaWin applies the correct behavior. The strange thing is that this issue happens on one computer only; on the others I have it works OK. I have checked the Window Rules section and nothing seems strange in there. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

    I am trying to move messages from a rather large mailbox to an archive mailbox. However I run into errors all the time. the command I am executing is Export-Mailbox -Identity MAILBOX_FROM -TargetMailbox ARCHIVE -TargetFolder ARCHIVE_FOLDER -StartDate 2009-02-01 -EndDate 2009-02-28 -DeleteContent -Confirm:$false I can copy/move some messages, but run into frequent "an unknown error has occurred" (statuscode -1056749164) I run the console as administrative user, and all permissions are set right, as far as I can tell. I've restricted the start and end dates in case the number of messages moved/deleted should create problems. Anything I am missing in my setup? Corrupted messages? Over-limit message sizes?

    I am trying to do an e-mail merge in Microsoft Publisher 2010 (which appears to do mail merging like Microsoft Word) and I'm wanting a merged email address to automatically be hyperlinked in the resulting email. For example, one of the merge fields could be "EmailAddress" with an example address being [email protected]. In the document, I would want the merge field "EmailAddress" to display as the default text in an hyperlink and also set the target of the hyperlink to "mailto:EmailAddress" (eg. mailto:[email protected]). I can't figure out how to get Publisher 2010 to do that. I would think that it's possible, though. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

  • Outlook 2010 exchange setup prompts for [email protected] rather than [email protected]

    We use a hosted exchange service. When users want to set up Outlook 2010 to access their account, they open Outlook and run through the configuration steps. Autodiscover is enabled, and in the user's active directory profile, their email address is in the email field. However, when the configuration process reaches a point where they are prompted for their email account's username and password, their active directory username is filled in by default instead of their email address. Is there a way to fix that? Users get confused and try to enter their email password over and over again and wonder why it doesn't work (and completely miss/ignore the "use another account" button even though they have instructions right in front of them). I'm also using the Office 2010 ADM's in group policy, but I haven't yet seen an option to specify what gets auto-populated in that windows security prompt.

I get the following error message. (614): The imported project "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets" was not found. Confirm that the path in the declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk.   • How to give everyone access to a office@companyname address and let everyone see what messages were

    This should be simple (because I assume everyone has this problem) but googling and searching of serverfault didn't help much. I'd like all messages sent to our "office@companyname" to be visible by everyone and I'd like anyone to be able to respond. I also need everyone to at least SEE that a given message has already been answered (the ability to see the actual response would be nice). I tried using an shared folder for this but it fails miserably because replying to emails leaves no trace, not even for the user that actually sent the message. I'm open to any kind of solution, even commercial add-on solutions.

  • Custom one-key keyboard shortcuts in Outlook 2010?

    I'm a gmail junkie, and one of my favorite features is the keyboard shortcut "a" inside an email to archive the message. I can't remember if that was the default or if I set it to such a quick little keypress, but by now it's totally ingrained in my memory. I'm setting up Outlook 2010 for work, and set up a similar "quick step" to archive, mark as read, and mark as complete any email. It would be great, except for keyboard shortcuts they only give the option for "CTRL + SHIFT + 1" and other number key options. With a keyboard shortcut that convoluted, I'm not going to remember it and might as well just reach for my mouse. Is there any way to set custom keyboard shortcuts for Outlook 2010? I want one-key shortcuts, not 3-keys-at-once!

  • Do two portforward rules translate to "and"?

    I just set up an Exchange server to replace my DeskNow mail server. I want to start testing my internet mail exchange of my Exchange server. I can only set the MX records on my DNS up to my one external IP address so I was thinking that I could set up a firewall rule on my internet-facing firewall that port forwarded the smtp packets to two different servers. My question is: If I do that, will that mean that the smtp packets will be forwarded to just the first internal IP on the list? Or does it mean that the packet will be cloned and sent to both IPs?

  • Can Office Project Server 2010 handle issue tracking?

    I have a scenario where I want to be able to allow customers to login to a customer facing portal on the web, and log issues / bugs. Internal team members should then be notified via email and the issue should be logged in Project Server. The ticket status should be Open, until either resolved or close, where the customer will be notified via email. Is this possible to do using Microsoft Project Server 2010? The question could also be can customers submit bugs to office 2010 projects via a custom web form of some kind, and can project handle the back-end gracefully.
