• MSSQL using SSH-tunnel from Visual Studio

  Hi, I recently contacted a web host regarding support for external database access to a Microsoft SQL Database included in a package they offer. They replied saying that it is only possible with an SSH-tunnel. Is it possible to connect to a MS SQL database in Visual Studio using an SSH-tunnel? It is important for me to be able to access the database from my local machine (for debugging, generating LINQ classes, editing tables, etc). Or, how should I go about working with their database?

  How can I view the change history of an individual file, complete with what has changed ? I have got as far as : git log -- filename which shows me the commit history of the file, but how do I get at the content of each of the changes ?   I am looking to create shortcut handler for MS Office. I am creating an addin with VS2010 for Office 2010. The handler needs to listen to all keyboard events when Word/PowerPoint is active. Although there is a lot of material for creating application level shortcut handlers, I couldn't find one that was specific to Office.   Hi i am working on some high resolution display features in which have to draw the vertical line , i am using Moveto() and lineTO() , but it is much time taking... can anyone suggest me , what we can use instead of it ...to optimize the performance... see the scene is , in order to draw 100 Vertical lines it is taking 84ms time, we need to reduce it to 5 ms something.. please refer me any alternate fot that. • How does Dropbox use Python on Windows and OS X?

  In Windows the Dropbox client uses python25.dll and the MS C runtime libraries (msvcp71.dll, etc). On OS X the Python code is compiled bytecode (pyc). My guess is they are using a common library they have written then just have to use different hooks for the different platforms. What method of development is this? It clearly isn't IronPython or PyObjC. This paradigm is so appealing to me, but my CS foo and Google foo are failing me.

Once Normal View is selected all works fine. Is there any way to force Word to open with Normal View instead of Web View?

I am doing a recursive loop and for one child (lets call it parent) I have to check the number of children under it to make a decision if it should be included or not. The Count is too slow 8 ms :( for 120 parent records. Any ideas to make it quicker.

  There are a few related questions on SO - but have not found the answer - I would like to generate a "signature"/bucket id to report a minidump/crash back to our issue tracking system. Since MS already does this with "bucket ids" I figured I could just re-use their bucket/signature generation. Can I get that ID from either a top level filter or the _EXCEPTION_POINTERS object I have inside the filter or the _MINIDUMP_EXCEPTION_INFORMATION structure or from the minidump itself? This is a C++ application.
