  • Flex 4 app with mate design question

    Hi all, I have a view with a DropDownList component and a DataGroup component. The dropdownlist has to be updated from a remote php object and on change to call another remote object service in order to update the datagroup's provider. So I am thinks to dispatch an event from my view and the in my EventMap to call the service and inject the result to the drop down. When the dropdown changes I'll dispatch another event and in the EventMap I'll call another service and I'll inject the result to the datagroup. Is there another more sophisticated way?   • Merge changes when a file on a branch has split into two files on the master

    This is basically the result of a massive class C on the master having been refactored down the line into two smaller classes, C1 and C2. C was then made a subclass of C2 and cut down to a skeletal version for backward compatibility. So from that point on, master contained C, C1 and C2. On that master commit git said C was renamed to C1. The branch was last updated before this happened. (All C++ code, if it helps to visualize the files involved) Obviously, when I tried a rebase of the branch onto master, there were conflicts that needed to be resolved. As usual, I used mergetool. So now the mergetool comes up with the following: On Local, I have the skeletal version of C. Base and Remote have a bunch of changes to C. Because the skeletal version of C exists on Local, I conclude that the changes from Base and Remote should actually go into C1, leaving C alone. My question is, how do I do this?

  • svn working copy spanning 2 physical drives?

    I have a large repository hosted on dreamhost that I backup daily on a remote machine using a windows scheduled task which updates the working copy located on an external USB 300GB drive connected to the remote machine. The 300GB drive is nearly full with only 26GB of free space remaining. Recently I added a second USB external 1TB drive to increase storage capacity. I would like to ask: what is the best way to use the new 1TB drive? Is it possible to span the working copy across both drives (ex: somehow create a 1.3 TB drive)? If I copied the working copy from the 300GB to the 1TB would svn continue form do I need to retarget the update working copy script to the new 1TB drive and start downloading everything again (least desired option) thanks

    I'm trying to install Hudson on a server. The article here says to just do java -jar hudson.war and it should install to the server. This is pretty straightforward to do on a local computer, but I want to do it on a remote website host that I manage via cPanel. So how on earth do I do this? I really am a newb when it comes to this sort of thing... Also, obviously I require the JRE to do this. How do you install the JRE on a remote website host via cPanel? I don't even know where to get started... Thanks.

  • How to implement a syndication receiver? (multi-client / single server)

    I have to come up with a system architecture. A few hundred remote devices will be communicating over internet with a central server which will receive data and store it in a database. I could write my own TCP/IP based protocol use SOAP use AJAX use RSS anything else? This is currently seen as one way (telemetry, as opposed to SCADA). Would it make a difference if we make it bi-directional. There are no plans to do so, but Murphy's law makes me wary of a uni-directional solution (on the data plane; I imagine that the control plane is bi-directional in all solutions (?)). I hope that this is not too subjective. I would like a solution which is quick and easy to implement and for others to support and where the general "communications pipeline" from remote deceives to database server can be re-used as the core of future projects. I have a strong background in telecomms protocols, in C/C++ and PHP.

But it doesn't works, I've tried without 'exec', with -X option and a lot more. Any ideas ?

The widget will analyse the remote webpage title and content, then it will return relevent articles/links on my website. The amount of traffic we expect will be very huge roughly 500K queries a day and up from there. I need the queries to be returned very quickly, so I need the candidate to be high performance, similar to google adsense. The remote title can be from 5 to 50 words and the description we will use no more then 3000 words. Which of these two do you think can handle the load.

  • Can I undo the last git push?

    A team member accidentally pushed half a gig of unwanted zips to the remote repo last night when they were in a rush. Yes... oops. Nobody has pulled or committed since. Ideally I want to just 'undo' what happened. I have looked at filter-branch and was thinking of trying something like git filter-branch --tree-filter 'rm -f *.zip' HEAD but that would be local, and I can't figure out how to do it direct on the remote repo. Is there a simpler way to undo what happened? If she amends her last commit and pushes again will that undo the push - ie actually remove those files from the history? Obviously if she deletes them, commits and pushes again then that still leaves the content in the repo, which is no good.

    I'm trying to figure out the best way to insert content into a light box using rails UJS. I have a link that looks like this: <%= link_to "login", login_path, :remote => true %> Which produces html as such: <a data-remote="true" href="/login">login</a> So this all works great, and I've created the view file: user_sessions/new.js.erb which also loads just fine, but my question what is the preferred method of inserting appending the html into the page? Like I already have the login form on the non-js page, so can't I just load that partial into the page? Any ideas would be very welcomed.

  • How to prevent maven to resolve dependencies in local repository

    Is there a way to tell maven (when doing mvn package, mvn site or ...) not to resolve the dependencies from the local repository? Background of this question: Sometimes I get into problems, when previously cached dependencies (e.g. SomeProject-0.7-ALPHA) are no longer available in the remote repository. In my local build everything still works fine as the dependency has been cached before. As soon as I share my pom with others, they may get into trouble, as they dont have a cached version of that dependency and the dependency can no longer be resolved from the remote repository.     Hi all, I have a windows service responsible for running processes on a remote machine with capturing the output, I googled for that and read a lot of articles and threads, I found two ways: 1) using WMI for call the remote process like this example: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/EverythingInWmi02.aspx 2) using the PsExec tool by System.Diagnostic.Process class ever way of these has many problems, the WMI doesn't support returning the output and doesn't support "WaitingToExit" It just call the process and return the PId, and the PsExec couldn't capture the output programmatically by System.Diagnostic.Process in a clear way, I found only workarounds like redirect the output to a file then read the redirected file..etc, I need a real solution please

  • Why would ftp_connect() return false on production server if it works elsewhere for connecting to th

    I have a script that uses ftp_connect() among other FTP PHP functions for uploading a file. ftp_connect() works when executed on my local development server for connecting to a remote FTP server. The same script, when executed on the remote server does not work for connecting to the exact same FTP server. Could somebody please point me in the right direction? Thanks!     Hi everyone, I am currently having a hard time on getting the mobile broadband connection running on ubuntu 10.04(lucid lynx). I am using a USB modem and used wvdial to connect to the web It went like: Sending ATZ ... OK sending some more flags OK modem initialized connecting Local IP x.x.x.x Remote IP y.y.y.y Primary DNS z.z.z.z Secondary DNS a.a.a.a (Some more output) I tested this with invalid username to make sure it is really connected and i think it was connected as connection failed with invalid usernames. Now when I do a remote ping say 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS servers), the ping says unreachable I think this might be because the system may be using the ethernet to send packets which was indeed disconnected. So can anyone help me out with this. How can I select ppp as the interface to send packets or is there some other problem. A command line solution will be appreciated as my network manager applet doesnt works correctly. Any help is much much appreciated. -- thx

  • Is there a tool to build and test a local change on multiple platforms

    A company I used to work for was plagued with build breakages. So they made a tool that would zip up a developers local changes (which it detected from SCM) and send them to a remote server for a test build. The remote server would update its copy of the source with the repository and then apply the changes it received from the developer. It would then build and test the changes. We actually targeted multiple platforms so it would do the above for each of those platforms. When it was done, if everything was green, the developer was reasonable confident they could submit the change without breaking the "real" build. Are there any tools out there that do something similar?

    I create Jenkins jobs using hudson.cli.CLI jar. I have selected "Archive the artifacts" option in the "Post-build steps" section. It archives the artifacts on each succesfull build. I am using jenkins remote access api http://localhost:8080/job/job_name/api/json to get details about jobs. and http://localhost:8080/job/job_name/job_number/api/json to get details about builds. When I delete a build corresponding archived artifacts are not deleted. I'd like to make sure that they are deleted. When I use jenkins remote access api http://localhost:8080/job/[job_name]/[job_number]/api/json for a build, it returns json data which contains all previously archived artifacts (other successful builds artifacts) with this (running build) build artifact. How do I get related artifact of a build (a successful build should return its artifact, not all previous successfull artifacts). Any suggestions or ideas ?

  • Keystore in PKCS12 format seems empty to keytool, but is read by Firefox?!

    I have a problem with a keystore in pkcs12 format, which contains a private key I need to use to authenticate myself (using mutual authentication) to a remote SSL server. The keystore file can be read perfectly fine by Firefox, and when used, I can access the remote server without problems. However, my Java program does not work with the keystore file. And if I use keytool to list keys inside the file, it seems empty -- while it is clearly not! How can I get Java/keytool to see the private key inside the keystore?
