  hi all, can any one tell how to tell svn that these files are to be deleted from repository through command line. i am using cruise control to automate the svn commit process. but the execution of svn commit command restores the files which i deleted from my working copy. the way i am doing is. 1. delete some files in my working copy.( no. of files in my WC is less than no. of files in repository) 2. execute svn command using cruise control. <exec executable="svn.exe"> <buildArgs>ci -m "test msg" --no-auth-cache --non-interactive</buildArgs> <buildTimeoutSeconds>1000</buildTimeoutSeconds> </exec> result: the deleted files are restored in my WC... • Setting Access-Control-Allow-Origin in Dreamhost possible?

  Just wanted a confirmation for this: Firefox currently doesn't play well for picking custom fonts through a sub-domain via the font-face tag. Other browsers do this without any problems. A little research showed up saying that i am required to set the Access-Control-Allow-Origin as is shown in the link here: http://pastie.org/653265 Essentially i have my blog at kaushikgopal.com/blog and i was trying to access fonts that within this blog that are available at font.kaushikgopal.com. I tried changing the same in my .htaccess file but couldn't resolve the issue.(I placed a .htaccess file within the font sub-domain folder and directly pasted code from the above pastie link). I submitted a ticket to dreamhost asking for assistance and they were helpful in clearly stating "We do not support Access-Control-Allow-Origin on shared hosting servers". So i didn't go the sub-domain route for fonts. But i'm a little curious, has anyone tried this (with a dreamhost hosting account would be helpful)? Just want to confirm what the tech-support guy suggested is accurate and there's no other way. Thanks.   Whenever I use 'n' to step over a line it steps into it instead. This happens to me on all the versions of jruby i've tried, the latest being 1.3.1 Does it work right for anyone?   I've got a vertical market Dot Net Framework 1.1 C#/WinForms/SQL Server 2000 application. Currently it uses ADO.Net and Microsoft's SQLHelper for CRUD operations. I've successfully converted it to Dot Net Framework 4 C#/WinForms/ SQL Server 2008. What I'd like to do is also offer my customers the ability to use SQL Azure as a backend storage for their data instead of local/LAN SQL Server. If I know SQL Azure is in my application's future, should I: A. Switch to LINQ to SQL B. Swith to Entity Framework C. Stick with ADO.Net and SQLHelper Thanks !

• When will NAnt reach version 1.0

  I like Nant very much. I do a lot of scripting with NAnt. It is a great little tool. Since NAnt is pre 1.0, when problems occur, I often think if that it is a problem with NAnt itself, but this is not always the case. One funny example: After running the oracle scripts I parsed the log output to make sure there was no problem. I was testing this with a small log file and it was fine. I used the task to load the file contents to a string property and used a regex to search for errors. When I used this script for a large log file, I stopped getting the "build failed" message at the bottom, because I was printing the error messages. Because the "build failed" was hiding at the top, I thought NAnt crashed, but it worked fine. It would be better for NAnt to have a 1.0 release. Any reasons why not?

• Windows 7 UAC (user access control) is being disabled on every reboot

  To put it simply, I noticed UAC was disabled so I enabled it. I was prompted to reboot the computer for the changes to take effect. Upon my reboot I checked the settings again as I hadn't disabled UAC in the first place. It was again set to off (never notify). For the heck of it I repeated the process a couple of more times. Same result each time. I have Microsoft Security Essentials running a full scan nightly so I should be protected from viruses. I also did an on demand scan with the online tool at www.antivirus.com. Nothing was found. Other than the fact that UAC is being disabled on each reboot I have no other reason to suspect a virus. So my question is does anyone have insight into if this is a possible problem with a virus or other malware changing my UAC settings on each boot or is it possibly a problem with Windows and UAC itself? If it is malware are there suggestions for other products outside of the ones I have used to detect and remove it.

• Show NotifyIcon Context Menu and Control Its Position?

  I'm trying to show a context menu when I left-click a NotifyIcon. Just calling NotifyIcon.ContextMenuStrip.Show() doesn't work very well. A solution has been posted here before that calls a secret method using Reflection: Dim mi As System.Reflection.MethodInfo = GetType(NotifyIcon).GetMethod("ShowContextMenu", Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance Or Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic) mi.Invoke(Icon, Nothing) This works great, except that I also need to control where the menu is shown. I want to wait for the SystemInformation.DoubleClickTime to elapse between receiving the NotifyIcon.MouseUp event and displaying the menu, so that I can handle single-clicks and double-clicks separately. But invoking the ShowContextMenu method displays the menu at the current mouse position when ShowContextMenu is called, not when the icon was actually clicked. Which means that if the mouse moved during the DoubleClickTime, the menu will be displayed in a different part of the screen. So if I can control where the menu is shown, I can just save the mouse coordinates when I receive the MouseUp event, and then I can ensure that the menu is displayed near the icon. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.

  Hi there I'm writing a brush for Alex Gorbatchev's Syntax Highlighter to get highlighting for Smalltalk code. Now, consider the following Smalltalk code: aCollection do: [ :each | each shout ] I want to find the block argument ":each" and then match "each" every time it occurrs afterwards (for simplicity, let's say every occurrence an not just inside the brackets). Note that the argument can have any name, e.g. ":myArg". My attempt to match ":each": \:([\d\w]+) This seems to work. The problem is for me to match the occurrences of "each". I thought something like this could work: \:([\d\w]+)|\1 but the right hand side of the alternation seems to be treated as an independent expression, so backreferencing doesn't work. So my question is: is it even possible to accomplish what I want in a single expression? Or would I have to use the backreference within a second expression (via another function call)? Cheers.

• How to use a viewstate'd object as a datasource for controls on a user control

  I've got a listview on a control. Each row comprises a checkbox and another listview. The outer listview is bound to a property on the control (via a method call, can't set a property as a SelectMethod on an ObjectDataSource it would appear) which is lazy loaded suchly: Public ReadOnly Property ProductLineChargeDetails() As List(Of WebServiceProductLineChargeDetail) Get If ViewState("WSProductLineChargeDetails") Is Nothing Then ViewState("WSProductLineChargeDetails") = GetWebServiceProductLineChargeDetails() End If Return DirectCast(ViewState("WSProductLineChargeDetails"), Global.System.Collections.Generic.List(Of Global.MI.Open.WebServiceProductLineChargeDetail)) End Get End Property The shape of the object referenced by the data source is something like this: (psuedocode) Product { bool Licenced; List<Charge> charges; } Charge { int property1; string property2; bool property3 . . . } The reason for the use of viewstate is this: When an one of the checkboxes on one of the outer list view rows is checked or unchecked I want to modify the object that the ODS represents (for example I'll add a couple of Charge objects to the relevant Product object) and then rebind. The problem I'm getting is that after every postback (specifically after checking or unchecking one of the rows' checkbox) my viewstate is empty. Thiss means that any changes I make to my viewstate'd object is lost. Now, I've worked out (after much googling and reading, amongst many others, Scott Mitchel's excellent bit on ViewState) that during initial databinding IsTrackingViewState is set to false. That means, I think, that assigning the return from GetWebServiceProductLineChargeDetails() to the ViewState item in my Property Get during the initial databind won't work. Mind you, even when the IsTrackingViewState is true and I call the Property Get, come the next postback, the viewstate is empty. So do you chaps have any ideas on how I keep the object referenced by the ObjectDataSource in ViewState between postbacks and update it and get those changes to stay in ViewState? This has been going on for a couple of days now and I'm getting fed up! Cheers in advance Steve

  It is necessary to implement the following functionality: There is a rectangle "field", its size is 150x100 pixels. Field is split to locations, each location is 10x10 (totally 15x10 locations on the field). There are few "coins" (5, for example), each of them can be dropped into any location. The list of text messages should be displayed in the drop-down list if any coin is clicked (when any message is clicked, drop-down list should be hidden and coin should display the number of selected message from 0 to 9, for example). That should be done with Silverlight 4.0 I am going to implement custom control "Coin", it will have a view (with a circle), it will display some kind of popup-window (please advise, which one), focus will be set to this window. On "FocusLost" window will be closed (without changing message number), if any message from the list will be clicked then its number will be stored inside of coin. Question 1: is there any control that already has required functionality? Question 2: how to implement "drag-and-drop" of coins to the "field" (lets assume, they will be close to the field)? Any thought or ideas will be helpful. Thanks.

• Run another version of Python using virtualenv

  I apologize in advance if the question is dummy ,i use Python 3.2.3 on Windows xp ,now i need Python3.3.2 , but i can't remove Python 3.2.3 because i have many codes and packages need to be run by it. I installed virtualenv to run two versions of Python in two different environments , but after that i didn't know what to do to run a code using Python 3.3.2 , here what i did: C:\>virtualenv.exe env1 C:\>env1\Scripts\activate now i don't know what to do after a folder was created its name env1 , i downloaded Python 3.3.2 and installed it in the same folder (env1) , is that correct ? then i try the following: (env1) C:\>python3.3.2 I got the following : 'python3.3.2' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. also i tried : (env1) C:\>python python33 I got the following: python: can't open file 'python33': [Errno 2] No such file or directory As i mentioned , i stuck at this point , any help will be very appreciated. • MIDP 2.0 version issues: $method is undefined for $type

  Hi, I've written a MIDlet that does several "advanced" things: fetching images from the web, resizing them, saving them on the phone, displaying them. This all works perfectly in the Nokia S60 3rd Edition FP1 emulator. This device has MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 support (also JSR75, which I need in order to save files). It also works as it should on the Nokia E71 (physical device). I then tried to run the MIDlet on several other emulators. One of them, the DefaultCldcJtwiPhone2 from the Java ME SDK 3.0, also claims MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 support. It doesn't have JSR75, which explains why "FileConnection can not be resolved to a type". This does not, however, explain why List.deleteAll(), String.equalsIgnoreCase(String) and a few others are undefined. The actual errors that I get: The method ceil(double) is undefined for the type Math The method deleteAll() is undefined for the type List The method equalsIgnoreCase(String) is undefined for the type String The method getWidth() is undefined for the type Displayable When I look at the MIDP 2.0 (i.e. JSR118) API (http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/), I can clearly see all of these methods being present, with the "since" tag being either MIDP 2.0 or CLDC 1.1. My question: why doesn't an emulator with MIDP 2.0 support have access to all MIDP 2.0 methods? Or alternatively, what am I doing wrong?

• C# Application crashes with Buffer Overrun in deployed (.exe) version, but not in Visual Studio

  Hi, I have a c# Windows Forms application that runs perfectly from within Visual Studio, but crashes when its deployed and run from the .exe. It crashes with a Buffer Overrun error...and its pretty clear that this error is not being thrown from within my code. Instead, windows must be detecting some sort of buffer overrun and shutting down the application from the outside. I don't think there's one specific line of code that is causing it..it simply happens intermittently. Does anybody have any thoughts on what the possible causes of a Buffer Overrun error might be, and why it would only occur in the deployed application and not when run from with Visual Studio? I change value on ddlTest dropdown list. SetupVisibility() wants to show textbox and label, but then I get the error: Microsoft JScript - runtime error: Cannot update control with ID: ctl00_CPH1_lblTest. The control does not exist. Where is the problem?

I want to use NHibernate, but I've seen a few different ways to address the serialization. Is this handled in 3.0?   I came across this RDMS via the advert on stackoverflow. Seems to be in the vein of MS Access / Filemaker / Apex database development tools but focused on web based applications. It quotes rave reviews from EWeek and a favourable mention from Dr Dobbs regarding its ability to create AJAX web applications without coding. The Eweek review, apparently written by an ASP.NET programmer, goes on to proclaim the ease at which apps can be extended using the inbuilt XBasic language and how custom javascript can easily be added without wading through code. Has anyone here built a web app with Alpha 5? Does anyone have comments on the development process, the speed of it or limitations they encountered along the way? To me it seems Oracle APEX comes closest to the feature set, has anyone programmed in both and have any comments?

  This seems like it should be fairly easy to do, but I've run into a few problems. I've added a cron job to parse all users whose UID is greater than 5000: * * * * * root /usr/bin/test /etc/passwd -nt ~allusers/.forward \ && /bin/egrep '([5-9]|[0-9]{2})[0-9]{3}' /etc/passwd | /bin/grep -v 65534 \ | /bin/cut -d ':' -f 1 > ~allusers/.forward Then I created a .procmailrc file: VERBOSE=yes LOGFILE=/var/log/procmailrc #Allow only certain users to send :0 * ^From.*[email protected].* {} :0E /dev/null But, the .forward file is processed before it even gets to procmail, evidently. If I moved the .forward file to another filename, can I use it in procmail to send an email to the users in this file?

• Android Release Version and "Waiting for Debugger"

  I know this has been asked before but I still don't have a solution. My first app: developed and debugged on my moto droid and then followed all the release steps, (exported from Eclipse, using my key to sign) including removing the debug in the manifest xml. I copied the resulting apk to the droid, disconnected the usb and installed it by double clicking on the file using Astro. I get the "Waiting for Debugger" message like when I am debugging but it never goes away. Doing something real stupid I know but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom
