  I know in jquery it is possible to call the javascript/jquery onload()/load() functions on, for example an image (<img>). However, if in jquery if i use .html(htmlString) to insert an image after the dom has loaded, how can i add a listener to handle the images onload event? Is there a property I can check to see various images and if they have loaded?

I have a javascript in my script and I have added the link in my view as follows: It has certain functions which I can access once I have the script in my view.   This is something I've never been able to figure out. You've got a button offscreen you want to animate in. We'll call it 'btn.' You've got a hit area that serves as the proximity sensor to trigger btn's animation. We'll call it 'hitZone' (as to not cause confusion with the hitArea property of display objects). Both btn and hitZone are MovieClips. The button continuously jumps unless you call TweenLite.killAllTweensOf(). This fixes the jumpiness, but it introduces a new problem. Now, it's very easy to interrupt the animation of the btn at any point, stopping it before it's totally visible on the stage. I've seen similar posts, but even they suffer from the same issue. Perhaps it's a problem with how Flash detects edges, because I've never once seen a workaround for this.

  I have a mainView. To this view, I am adding a view of the same size. When the mainView(the background) rotates, its being detected but the subview doesnt have any idea about being rotated. And its functions are not even being called. Even when the program launches too, if I am in landscape mode, its the same way. How can I make the subView know that the device is being rotated?

Declaring a function within another function, and that inner function has access to its parent function's variables, even after that parent function has returned. Why is it not? :( In fact, I want to combine 2 parts of the same array to make a complex array: Data[:,:,:,0] , Data[:,:,:,1] These don't work: x = np.complex(Data[:,:,:,0], Data[:,:,:,1]) x = complex(Data[:,:,:,0], Data[:,:,:,1]) Am I missing something? • PHP - ___ encoding to UTF-8 - is there an end-all solution?

  I've looked across the web, I've looked through SO, through PHP documentation and more. It seems like a ridiculous problem not to have a standard solution to. If you get an unknown character set, and it has strange characters (like english quotes), is there a standard way to convert them to UTF-8? I've seen many messy solutions using a plethora of functions and checking and none of them are definitely going to work. Has anyone come up with their own function or a solution that always works?

  I'm using windows and I notice that a lot of functions are grayed out because I guess #ifdef GL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES is not defined. One of these is the VBO extension. Should I just define GL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES? Otherwise how else can I use VBOs since im using OpenGL32.dll (I want my application to have no dll dependencies not included in Windows by default.) Thanks

  Hi all, One of my functions in a class is called GetIpAddress() which returns the following string: System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] This all works well in regular page loads and gets my ip address, but when i for example let a user place a comment, then the ip address is lost after postback and i get an empty string returned.
