  • How can I translate Linux keycodes from /dev/input/event* to ASCII in Perl?

    I'm writing a Perl script that reads data from the infamous /dev/input/event* and I didn't find a way to translate the key codes generated by the kernel into ASCII. I'm talking about the linux key codes in this table here and I can't seem to find something that would help me translate them without hardcoding an array into the script. Am I missing something? I'd like to skip the array part because it doesn't seem to be a good practice, so any idea? :)

    I'd like to have a macro in Visual Studio 2005 that calls a DOS command and redirects the output (stdout and stderr) to a file. Just calling the command and "" redirecting it will not capture stderr, so there are two parts to this: calling a DOS command capturing both stderr and stdout to a file during that call I'd then like to open this file in Visual Studio after the command completes. I'm new to Visual Studio 2005 macro writing, and VB/VBA, so that's the kind of help that I'm looking for. Thanks, Mark

    Hello, I am trying to output some Java objects as JSON, they have List properties which I want to be formatted as { "People" : [ { "Name" : "Bob" } , { "Name" : "Jim" } ] } However, I cannot figure out how to do this with XStream. It always outputs as { "Person" : { "Name" : "Bob" }, "Person" : { "Name" : "Bob" } Is there a way to fix this?     The title more or less says it all: I have a function which takes symmetric input in two arguments, e.g. something like def f(a1, a2): return heavy_stuff(abs(a1 - a2)) Now, I want to introduce some caching method. Would it be correct / pythonic / reasonably efficient to do something like this: cache = {} def g(a1, a2): return cache.setdefault(frozenset((tuple(a1), tuple(a2))), f(a1, a2)) Or would there be some better way?

  • How can you save Cocos2D window output as Video?

    I am considering using the excellent looking Cocos2d for a motion graphics project. However, Cocos2d is intended for games, rather than producing an MPEG stream. Is it possible to save the output from a Cocos2d script to a MOV or MPG file? Ideally this needs to be done in a direct manner, not using a screen capture as this would not meet the requirements of the project. Hopefully there are some cocos2d gurus out there :D Thanks!
