  • Determining when scrolled to bottom of a page with Javascript

    I'm trying to determine when I've scrolled to the bottom of the page (without using any JS library), but so far, I'm a bit confused over which one of the following to use. The most promising one I've seen is window.scrollY, but even when scrolled to the bottom of the page, it never matches the value of window.innerHeight.   • Eclipse Javascript code assist problem in using WTP

    Hi, I'm new to WTP so excuse me if the solution to this is obvious. When i define and use a class from within the same file i get nice code assist help, i also get code assist for classes from the standard libraries. Unortunatly, when i try to use code and declarations from one file in another file i no longer get t he nice code assist features. I have searched the web and tried a couple of things, making shoure JS is enabled for the project, making sure the folder the scripts are in is added to the JS source folder list and even trying making a new folder with the decleration files in and adding it as a library. I would really like ot get this feature working so any help would be appreciated.

  • Proper way to format date from database using javascript/jquery

    Hi all, I am calling my database which contains a datetime datatype. The date looks like this: 2005-05-23 16:06:00.000 I would like to display this in a table when a user selects a certain item from a list. I call my controller action and return Json of all the times and put them in a table. The problem is the date is completely wrong. What is displayed is this: /Date(1255470180000)/ The date that is returned isn't even parsable (which I don't want to do anyway) so I can't even get the data if I wanted to. Any ideas?

For example, I can set a style to e.srcElement But, how can I later access this element to (for example) reset its style ? And how can I know at which place in the dom tree it is ?     I am trying to customize a view-src bookmarklet for iPad. This one is looking pretty good so far. But I want to make it just a little more readable: The Courier (New) font is a bit ugly even (especially?) on the retina display and I'd prefer any one of DejaVu Sans Mono, Monaco, Lucida Console, Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. I tried to modify the bookmarklet script by adding: pre.style.fontFamily = '"DejaVu Sans Mono", "Lucida Console", Monaco;'; It's not doing the trick. Perhaps prettyprint cancels out my fontFamily setting when it loads. Maybe I can set it at the end of the script somehow...

  • DOM and Javascript

    I let a user reconfigure the location of a set of rows in a table by giving them ability to move them up and down. The changes are done by swapping nodes in the DOM. After the user has moved rows around, when I do a view source, I see the HTML in the original state (before the user made any changes). Can someone explain why that is? My understanding was when we do any DOM operations, the underlying HTML will be changed as well. EDIT: Does that mean on the server side, when attempt to get the state after user's changes, I will be able to get what I need? I am using C#/ASP.NET. Could it be because this is a HTML table (not ASP.NET Server control), that it's not maintaining the state of the changes?

  • Finding the closest grid coordinate to the mouse onclick with javascript/jQuery

    What I'm trying to do is make a grid of invisible coordinates on the page equally spaced. I then want a <div> to be placed at whatever grid coordinate is closest to the pointer when onclick is triggered. Here's the rough idea: I have the tracking of the mouse coordinates and the placing of the <div> worked out fine. What I'm stuck with is how to approach the problem of the grid of coordinates. First of all, should I have all my coordinates in an array which I then compare my onclick coordinate to? Or seeing as my grid coordinates follow a rule, could I do something like finding out which coordinate that is a multiple of whatever my spacing is is closest to the onclick coordinate? And then, where do I start with working out which grid point coordinate is closest? What's the best way of going about it? Thanks!

    Hi all I have a div that I would like to reposition each time the page is refreshed. It is currently set in the css using top and left. I wold like to pass the top and left values on page refresh. #inneriframe { position:absolute; top:-170px; left:-5px; width:1280px; height:1200px; } The content is from another site and contained in an iframe and I want the viewport of the div to change(within certain limits) each time the page is refreshed.     Hey guys, I have a web service where people can edit their pages CSS, but I have a bar on the footer of that page that I want to make consistend on every page... People are, right now, able to "remove" it with CSS and I really didn't want to go and parse the CSS to remove rules related to that bar... Is there a way to preserve the styles or re-aply them after load to keep the bar always visible? Thanks in advanced!

  • Which MarkDown (WMD) javascript editor should I use?

    Background I'm working on an application which requires user-entered content, and I've decided to use a StackOverflow-style MarkDown editor. After researching this topic for the last few days, I realize there are numerous forks of the base WMD editor, some with a few basic enhancements and some with serious differences from the StackOverflow one. Since this will be the heart of the application, I'd like to start with the best code base I can. I'd be happy if anyone can recommend which one of the many solutions out there best fits my needs. Below is requirements, plus what I've managed to find already. I'm hoping this question will help me decide which version to go with, and maybe help me discover a port out there that's an even better fit for my needs. The requirements for my project Live Preview Multiple editors on the same page (not know how many in advance, since the user can dynamically add another editing box). Ability to extend with extra buttons (I'd like a button to upload a picture, instead of just adding an img url). Ability to dynamically show/hide the edit box (and only see the preview box). Not an absolute must, but I'd prefer to stick as close to StackOverflow's look and feel, since it's well known. Don't know if this matters, but the backend is written in Django. Editors I've looked at Here are a few of the code bases I've looked at, with thoughts. Obviously, I might be missing another solution out there. The derobins version. From what I can tell, this is the official StackOverflow version. Seems like it doesn't support multiple editors on one page. JQuery.MarkEdit. Looks very good, but is pretty different from the StackOverflow version. MooWMD. Looks like the winner right now, but I'm a little concerned since it looks less active/hackable than MarkEdit. The wmd-new version. Not sure, looks like an old codebase without much use. The SocialSite branch. Seems like it's not for public use.

    I have an object I'm trying to populate from another object (that is, iterate over a return object to produce an object with only selected values from the original). My code looks like this: var collect = {}; function getHistoricalData(username){ $.getJSON("http://url/" + username + ".json?params", function(data){ for (var i=0; i < data.length; i++) { console.log(i); collect = { i : {text : data[i].text}}; $("#wrap").append("<span>" + data[i].text + "</span><br />"); }; console.log(collect); }); } So I'm using Firebug for debugging, and here's what I know: The JSON object is intact console.log(i); is showing the numbers 1-20 as expected When I log the collect object at the end, it's structure is this: var collect = { i : {text : "the last iteration's text"}}; So the incrementer is "applying" to the data[i].text and returning the text value, but it's not doing what I expected, which is create a new member of the collect object; it's just overwriting collect.i 20 times and leaving me with the last value. Is there a different syntax I need to be using for assigning object members? I tried collect.i.text = and collect[i].text = and the error was that whatever I tried was undefined. I'd love to know what's going on here, so the more in-depth an explanation the better. Thanks!
