• In apache cxf, How do i know the soap request message is gzip compressed?

  I'm using Apache CXF to send soap message. in specific case, i have to send a soap message gzip compressed. Using log4j, i printed detailed info. would you let me know how i can know the message is gzip compressed and transfered to server. thanks in advance.   I use echo in Upstart scripts to log things: script echo "main: some data" >> log end script post-start script echo "post-start: another data" >> log end script Now these two run in parallel, so in the logs I often see: main: post-start: some data another data This is not critical, so I won't employ proper synching, but thought I'd turn auto flush ON to at least reduce this effect. Is there an easy way to do that? Update: yes, flushing will not properly fix it, but I've seen it help such situations to some degree, and this is all I need in this case. It's just that I don't know how to do it in Shell

Let's presume i have this code: $url = 'http://www.google.com' $fields = array('q'=>'search term'); //maybe some other arguments. but let's keep it simple. $curl = new Curl(); $page = $curl->post($url,$fields); $page will have some images wich curl doesn't load them by default. I need to know how i can save a specific image without using curl. Once I use $page = $curl-post(..) I need to know how I can have that image saved without using another $curl-post(_image_location_) to get that file. The reason why need this is to save a captcha image from a form. I need to access the form and get that specific image that's being loaded. If i try to access the URL of the image, it will be a different captcha image.

• How to implement full text search in Django?

  I would like to implement a search function in a django blogging application. The status quo is that I have a list of strings supplied by the user and the queryset is narrowed down by each string to include only those objects that match the string. How would I do that? Is there a way to do that with Django's own Queryset methods or does one have to fall back to raw SQL queries? In general, is it a proper solution to do full text search like this or would you recommend using a search engine like Solr, Whoosh or Xapian. What are there benefits? Thanks for taking the time

• Proper way of deleting records with Codeigniter

  I came across another Stackoverflow post regarding Get vs Post and it made me think. With CI, my URL for deleting a record is http://domain.com/item/delete/100, which deletes record id 100 from my DB. The record_id is pulled via $this->uri->segment. In my model I do have a where clause that checks that the user is indeed the owner of that record. A user_id is stored in a session inside the DB. Is that good enough? My understanding is, POST should be used for one time modification for data and GET is for retrieving regards (e.g. viewing an item or permalink).

  I am trying to navigate to an MVC action by POSTing rather than GETting. (The action is a DELETE, and I don't want it reachable by an external link.) I am using a link in a grid generated by Ajax.ActionLink("Remove", "Delete", new { saID = Model.Said, id = e.id }, new AjaxOptions { HttpMethod = "POST", Confirm = "Are you sure you want to delete this item?" }) Which generates the following HTML: <a href="/Equipment/Delete/102424/229933" onclick="Sys.Mvc.AsyncHyperlink.handleClick(this, new Sys.UI.DomEvent(event), { insertionMode: Sys.Mvc.InsertionMode.replace, confirm: 'Are you sure you want to delete this item?', httpMethod: 'POST' });">Remove</a> My problem is that when I click on the link, I am reaching the Delete action via a GET rather than a POST, AND the Confirm dialog is not taking place. I have been googling this for several hours and just keep getting wrapped around the axle. What am I doing wrong?

Motivation: I want to implement the equivalent of ASP.Net's WebMethods. I am building this on top of google app engine, but that does not affect the point of difficulty that I am having. I followed all the instructions listed with the plugin and I am getting an 'undefined method `paginate' for' error. Can't find much in the way of Google search and haven't been able to fix it myself (obviously).   I get data in from POST and validate it via this standard snippet: entry_formset = EntryFormSet(request.POST, request.FILES, prefix='entries') if entry_formset.is_valid(): .... The EntryFormSet modelform overrides a foreign key field widget to present a text field. That way, the user can enter an existing key (suggested via an Ajax live search), or enter a new key, which will be seamlessly added. I use this try-except block to test if the object exists already, and if it doesn't, I add it. entity_name = request.POST['entries-0-entity'] try: entity = Entity.objects.get(name=entity_name) except Entity.DoesNotExist: entity = Entity(name=entity_name) entity.slug = slugify(entity.name) entity.save() However, I now need to get that entity back into the entry_formset. It thinks that entries-0-entity is a string (that's how it came in); how can I directly access that value of the entry_formset and get it to take the object reference instead?

It works fine for insert but doesn't work for update, the database doesn't get called, so it's clearly not tracking the changes, as it's "detached".   I'm wondering if theres a best practice for what I'm trying to accomplish... First we have the model categories, categories, has_many posts. Now lets say, users add posts. Now, I have a page, that I want to display only the current user's posts by category. Lets say we have the following categories: A, B, and C User 1, has posted in Categories A and B. In my view I have something like: @categories.each do |category| category.name @posts.each do |post| if post.category_id==category.id post content here end end end The problem with this, is I'm going to show the empty category, as well as the categories that do have content. Is there a more efficient way of going about this? As I don't want to show the empty categories. Best, Elliot

  In this question I asked how to POST to a php file form a vb.net app: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2615335/post-to-webpage-in-vb-net-win-forms-desktop-not-asp-net So now I've logged in the user user by posting their username and password to the php file, the php file then does security/checks they exist/etc and if both username and password are correct is stores the user ID in a session variable. Now if the vb.net app tries to download data off a page which needs the user to logged in, it checks this by doing: if (!isset($_SESSION['uid'])) { header("Location: index.php"); } However after having logged correctly in the app the session variable is not set. How does session work with a vb.net app like this? When the user logs in successfully should I download the user id and keep it in the vb.net app and then post it to each page that requires authentication?

  From what I've seen ModelState.IsValid is only calculated by the MVC frame work on a full postback, is that true? I have a jquery postback like so: var url = "/path/to/controller/myaction"; var id = $("#Id").val(); var somedata = $("#somedata").val(); // repeated for every textbox $.post(url, { id: id, somedata: somedata }, function (data) { // etc }); And the controller action looks like: public JsonResult MyAction(MyModel modelInstance) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { // ... ModelState.IsValid is always true, even when there is invalid data } } But this does not seem to trigger ModelState.IsValid. For example if somedata is 5 characters long, but the DataAnnotation says [StringLength(3)] - in this case ModelStae.IsValid is still true, because it hasn't been triggered. Is there something special I need to do when making a jquery/ajax post instead of a full post? Thanks!

  Hi, I am storing images in SQL Server 2000 database (BLOB type). There is a web page in my ASP.NET application which need to show a lot images to the end user and i want to handle browser's requests for images through a IHttpAsyncHandler. I found a similer post on codeproject "Asynchronous HTTP Handler for Asynchronous BLOB DataReader." But for some reasons, page get freeze upon completion of "BeginProcessRequest" method and "EndProcessRequest" method never get call. Can anyone look at this post and let me know whats wrong in that post? OR what i need to do to complete this task (BLOB Reading via IHttpAsyncHandler)?

• php regex expression to get title

  I'm trying to strip content titles out of the middle of text strings. Could I use regex to strip everything out of this string except for the title (in italics) in these strings? Or is there a better way? Joe User wrote a blog post called The 10 Best Regex Expressions in the category Regex. Jane User wrote a blog post called Regex is Hard! in the category TechProblems. I've tried to come up with a regex expression to cover this, but I think it might need two. The trick is that the text in bold is always the same, so you could search for that, like this: regex: delete everything before and including wrote a blog post called regex: delete in the category and everything after it.

  I have a simple example of a blog: a Post table, a Tag table and a Post_Tag_MM lookup table linking the two tables. I use this hql query in order to fetch all posts, that DONT have some tags: var result = session .CreateQuery(@" select p from Post p join p.Tags t where (select count(ti) from p.Tags ti where ti.Uid in (:uidList)) = 0 ") .SetParameterList("uidList", uidList) .SetResultTransformer(new DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer()) .List<Post>(); How can this many-to-many query and the subselect translated into a criteria query?   Hey, please help a newbie in Rails :) I have protect_from_forgery call (which is given by default) with no attributes in my ApplicationController class. Basically here's the code: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper :all # include all helpers, all the time protect_from_forgery helper_method :current_user_session, :current_user filter_parameter_logging :password, :password_confirmation What I assume it should do is: it should prevent any POST requests without correct authenticity_token. But when I send post request with jQuery like the one below, it works fine (there's update statement that is executed in the database)! $.post($(this).attr("href"), { _method: "PUT", data: { test: true } }); I see in console that there's no authenticity_token among sent parameters, but request is still considered valid. Why is that?

• Rails choking on the content of this request because of protect_from_forgery

  I'm trying to simply test my RESTful API with cURL. Using the following invocation: curl -d "name=jimmy" -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" http://127.0.0.1:3000/people.xml -i Rails is dying though: ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken (ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken): :8:in `synchronize' Looks like it's running this through a protect_from_forgery filter. I thought protect_from_forgery is excluded for non-HTML HTTP POST/PUT/DELETE type requests? This is clearly targeting the XML format. If I pass actual XML content, it works. But my users will be submitting POST data as URL encoded parameters. I know all the various ways I can disable protect_from_forgery but what's the proper way of handling this? I want to leave it on so that when I do have HTML based forms and handle format.html, I don't forget to re-enable it for then. I want users to be able to make HTTP POST requests to my XML-based API though and not get bombarded with this.

The best I could get on server side is something like {"1"=>"[object Object]", "2"=>"[object Object]"} I tried to add JSON.stringify on client side and JSON.parse on server side, but the first resulted in {"{\"1\":{\"name\":\"client_1\",\"note\":\"bigboy\"},\"2\":{\"name\":\"client_2\",\"note\":\"smallboy\"}}"=>nil} while the latter has thrown a TypeError - can't convert Hash into String. Could anyone help, or maybe post a short snippet of correct code, please? Thank you

• Additional/Optional query string parameters in URI Template in WCF

  I have written a simple REST Service in WCF in which I have created 2 method using same URI Template but with different Method(POST and GET). For GET method I am also sending additional query parameters as follows: [WebInvoke(Method = "POST", UriTemplate = "users")] [OperationContract] public bool CreateUserAccount(User user) { //do something return restult; } [WebGet(UriTemplate = "users?userid={userid}&username={userName}")] [OperationContract] public User GetUser(int userid, string userName) { // if User ID then // Get User By UserID //else if User Name then // Get User By User Name //if no paramter then do something } when I call CreateUserAccount with method POST it is working fine but when I call GetUser method using GET and sending only one query string parameter(userID or UserName) it is giving error "HTTP Method not allowed" but if send both parameters its wokrs fine. Can anyone help me?

• Able to ping but cannot browse after several hours running of my python program

  It's a GUI program I wrote in python checking website/server status running on my XP SP3, multi threads are used to check different site/server. After several hours running, the program starts to get urlopen error timed out all the time, and this always happens right after a POST request from a server(not a certain one, might be A or B or C), and it's also not the first POST request causing the problem, normally after several hours running and it happens to make a POST request at an unknown moment, all you get from then on is urlopen error timed out. I'm still able to ping but cannot browse any site, once the program closed everything's fine. It's definitely the program causing this problem, well I just don't know how to debug/check what the problem is, also don't know if it's from OS side or my program wasting too many resources/connections(are you still able to ping when too many connections used?), would anybody please help me out?

• Quick question about PayPal IPN Security

  PayPal IPN sends a POST request with a variable number of fields to the notify URL, in order to confirm that the POST request is legit we need to resubmit the same request along with a additional cmd=_notify-validate field to PayPal, which then replies SUCCESS or FAILURE. My question is, why do we need to resend the request to PayPal? Wouldn't something like this work? if (preg_match('~^(?:.+[.])?paypal[.]com$~i', gethostbyaddr($_SERVER['REQUEST_ADDR'])) > 0) { // request came from PayPal, it's legit. } Iff we can trust the server to correctly resolve IPs, I assume we can trust PayPal POST requests, no?
