I'm am trying to figure out how the Oracle "Layered Architecture Model" works, and I am very confused about what the business, data, and presentation do, and how they relate to each other. I have seen many diagrams showing how this should work, but some real world examples would be useful?
Did not have luck with these examples:
Javascript File remove
Javascript FSO DeleteFile Method
Deleting a File
There are no special permissions on the file.
Is there a way to do this in JQuery?
The requirement is - a certain file must be deleted from the web directory when another page is loaded. There is no security issue as this is on a closed network.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
What are the various differences between the two symbols TCHAR and _TCHAR type defined in the Windows header tchar.h? Explain with examples. Briefly describe scenarios where you would use TCHAR as opposed to _TCHAR in your code. (10 marks)
Quick and simple question.
There are examples online about achieving in-memory gzip compression with zlib (C++) WITHOUT external libraries (like boost or such)?
I just need to compress and decompress a block of data without much options. (it must be gzip as its the same format used by another mine C# program (the data is to be shared))
Tried to search to no avail...
Thanks!
A followup to another question I did, I've done some more digging but I am still coming up dry. Is there any way to include .HTML/.ASPX files as 'embedded resources' into an ASP.NET MVC application? I've found lots of examples of using string resources, but never other files entirely.
Am a newbie to programming and have seen examples on dragging and dropping items from one list to another list using jQuery. My problem is that my list is populated dynamically and so i cannot predefine the list items. Can anyone provide a solution to this? Am working in Visualforce.Thanks in advance.
I'm an object oriented programmer and am looking for a good JavaScript online reference manual.
The ideal reference manual should contain:
compendious, I'm not
looking for ECMA
standard reference.
type specific, even if JavaScript is not strongly typed, function arguments and
returns have a type.
browser specific, no matter the standards every browser is different.
contain examples
be available online.
What is your favorite online JavaScript reference manual?
If you had to explain Lambda expressions to a 5th grader, how would you do it? And what examples might you give, or resources might you point them to? I may be finding myself in the position of having to teach this to 5th grade level developers and could use some assistance.
Thanks very much.
Anyone out there use a "buzz management tool"? such as buzzstream? Which do you recommend? I am trying to find some alternatives to Buzzstream, I found one a few days ago but completely forgot the name. I remember the examples it had used Nike as reference for Buzz.
Hope you guys can give me a hand!
Thanks.
I'm starting to use watir.
I need to create a test script to login in the application.
The code bellow is the script from the page.
I saw some examples with buttons and links, but I don't know how to "submit" the information.
I have a web application that uses an EC2 instance to receive uploaded images, resize and store on S3 and update my MySQL database with the image record. This database is hosted outside Amazon Web Services and so obviously involves communication between the EC2 instance and the database. Images are posted to the upload server from a Flash client which receives the IP address of the upload server when it is loaded and so sends images to 1.12.23.34/resize_script.php
This has worked great .. until i started to try and include a load balancer.
Since the ELBs do not use an IP address but a DNS address I am now passing this to Flash. Now when I upload images I get the following response from the server -
Could not connect to MySQL: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111
What might be causing the lost connection to MySQL server. Is there any additional steps I need to take to allow my upload servers to be load balanced? I have set the host property of my MySQL privileges for this user to %
any pointers greatly appreciated thanks.
Hi,
I'm trying to repeat the elements of vector a, b number of times. That is, a="abc" should be "aabbcc" if y = 2.
Why doesn't either of the following code examples work?
sapply(a, function (x) rep(x,b))
and from the plyr package,
aaply(a, function (x) rep(x,b))
I know I'm missing something very obvious ...
Just that. I would like some information (links, reference, examples...) to guide me to do that.
I don't even know if it's possible.
My objective is to compile a program in Linux and get a .exe file that I can run under windows.
Is this possible to have two (or more) different kinds of cells to be displayed interchangeably in single column of C# .Net 3.5 WinForms DataGridView?
I know one column has specified single EditingControl type, yet I think grid is flexible enough to do some tricks, I may think of only:
Adding as many invisible columns to grid as required types of cells and on CellBeginEdit somehow exchange current cell with other column's cell
Creating custom column and custom cell with possibility of changing EditingControl for single cell
Which approach is better, is there any other solution, are there any examples ?
I have a requirment to do some imports from an Excel spread sheet and have been looking at various examples on the web, they all seem to use the "Jet" driver which is not compatible with 64Bit. Now I am fully aware of the workarounds available (in changing how IIS runs etc) however I would like to know if there is repalcment for the "Jet" driver so I can read and generate excel sheets from Asp.Net running on a 64Bit server with no IIS modifications.
What does “Moving Forward” mean to you?
“Moving Forward”:
A.To acknowledge the past but in essence, encourage a positive, professional environment to do our personal best in relation to issue that was criticized.
B.To acknowledge the past and learn from case examples to develop continually updated and open sources of information. Specifically, policies and procedures or best practices.
C.To dismiss the past to put behind fears of retribution.
D.Combination of above choices

I've been searching examples for the Win32 API C++ function TerminateProcess() but couldn't find any.
I'm not that familiar with the Win32 API in general and so I wanted to ask if someone here who is better in it than me could show me an example for,
Retrieving a process handle by its PID required to terminate it and then call TerminateProcess with it.
If you aren't familiar with C++ a C# equivalent would help too.
could anyone point me to some examples on how to achieve Tableview with section and Index on Section. Similar to one it's in iPhone = http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2009/01/uitableview-indexed-table-view.html
I see examples where JavaScript code including jQuery and jslint use the notation below:
(function(){
// do something
})();
instead of:
// do something
I first thought this is just for local scoping, i.e. creating local variables for the code block without polluting global namespace. But I've seen instances without any local variables at all too.
What am I missing here?
I want to initialize an instance of one of the subclasses of a superclass depending on the arguments to init:
[[Vehicle alloc] initWithItinerary: shortWay]; // returns a bicycle
[[Vehicle alloc] initWithItinerary: longWay]; // returns a car
I can't find examples of code like this. I wonder if this is not idiomatic in Objective C, or I simply am not looking in the right places.
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a simple solution to place a draggable element inside of a box container. When the user begins to interact with the draggable, the draggable element should remain constrained to a circular shape, within the container.
At a complete loss as to how I should accomplish this.
Thank you! :-)
Additional:
Box container would be 100 pixels wide and tall
Draggable would be 20 pixels wide and tall
http://tool-man.org/examples/dragging.html This is on the TODO list, but of course this site is no longer maintained
I'm creating a custom ActionResult class and I need it to be able to operate on a UserControl. All of the examples I've found so far pass in the full path like so:
return MyResult("~/ControllerName/UserControlName.ascx", myModel);
But I'd like it to operate the same way as calling View(), i.e. I just pass in the name and MVC determines the correct route:
return MyResult("UserControlName", myModel);
Is there a way I can find out the correct route to the control without specifying it manually?
To learn from good examples, what are the best open source Google App Engine applications out there?
I don't care if it is Java or Python based.
Please one app per answer. Feel free to add a link to the live app (if there is) and to the project page.
I seem to be missing something obvious here, why would I want more than one activity per application in Android? Does somebody have some solid examples?
