  • Has glassfish 2.1.1 a bug handling http request and handle them twice?

    I'm using glassfish 2.1.1. I've watched a mysterious http/webservice-call handling. It seams an http request is handled by two different threads. After http basic authentication the first thread is faster. Persisting some data end, but writing response fails in glassfish internal. The second thread fails, because it tries to persist identical data and there are (unique) constrain failures. The response (the failure) of second thread was delivered to client. I don't won't discuss the behavior with the unique constrain failure. I've improve the webservice, so it can handle this better, because it could be happen anytime, that the client send the ws call a second time. But I think, glassfish 2.1.1 has an bug handling http request. Is there any known issue? Have I done an mistake?   • where do i put html files in my web-app folder for a lift project with maven?

    I'm new to Lift framework for scala. For some reason, index.html resides in the web-app directory, and when I start up jetty, http://localhost:8080/ will point to that index.html file just fine. However, if I put a login.html file in the same folder as the index.html, and then go http://localhost:8080/login, Lift does not serve the file. Where do I need to put the files to get them register? I am a little lost because the behaviour only seems to work for index.html and nothing else.   • Where do I put the logic of my MFC program?

    I created an application core, in C++, that I've compiled into a static library in Visual Studio. I am now at the process of writing a GUI for it. I am using MFC to do this. I figured out how to map button presses to execute certain methods of my application core's main class (i.e. buttons to have it start and stop). The core class however, should always be sampling data from an external source every second or two. The GUI should then populate some fields after each sample is taken. I can't seem to find a spot in my MFC objects like CDialog that I can constantly check to see if my class has grabbed the data.. then if it has put that data into some of the text boxes. A friend suggested that I create a thread on the OnInit() routine that would take care of this, but that solution isn't really working for me. Is there no spot where I can put an if statement that keeps being called until the program quits? i.e. if( coreapp.dataSampleReady() ) { // put coreapp.dataItem1() in TextBox1 // set progress bar to coreapp.dataItem2() // etc. // reset dataSampleReady }

  • Does Apache allow to authorize an HTTP request based on a result of a subrequest?

    I'm looking for an equivalent of nginx http auth request module but for Apache. For each incoming HTTP requests, the module sends a subrequests to authentication/authorization back-end. Th auth request carries a path and all headers of the original request. Based on the result of the auth request, the original requests is allowed (HTTP code 200), denied (HTTP code 403) or login is requested (HTTP code 401). Such a generic mechanism allows to build really flexible authentication and authorization schemes. Is something like this possible in Apache (likely with a help of some third party module)?

  • Is there a Windows 7 add-on that will put the PID in the title bar of a window?

    Occasionally I run many instances of something, like Chrome or Visual Studio. Rarely, but often enough to bug me, one of them gets hosed and starts to consume 100% CPU. I can fire up the task manager to see which process is using 100%, but if it just says chrome.exe or devenv.exe, I don't know which window is the culprit. I'd like to know before terminating the process, so I can activate the app and shut it down cleanly. The best I've found so far is to use Process Explorer's feature where I can right click a process and say "bring to front". But I am curious as to whether there is an app that will put the PID(s) right in the title bar of the window so I can tell which window matches the process. I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

    I am running Ubuntu 12.04. As you might know Google Earth 7 doesn't work in Ubuntu 12.04 yet. I installed Google Earth via make-googleearth-package --force command. My installation was saccesful. At the beginning everything was working fine. But after some days I had a problem. When I type in "Fly to" box a city I wanted to search for it. It gives me "invalid HTTP request" error as seen in the picture: How to solve? P.S: I removed and reinstalled it but problem still consists. I can search globe via mouse only.

  • What will be the impact on SEO if we remove our SSL certificate (url become http instead of https)?

    For some weird reason, our domain's content is returned for any https request set to any of our server's hosted domain names. https://domain.com leads to our website, with a proper SSL certificate (so, no warning). https://domain2.com, also hosted on our server but without SSL certificate, leads to a warning, and if accepted, to our website's content! The problem is that any search for our keywords in Google shows "fake websites" on top of ours, with the warning et al. It seems unsolvable so we are thinking about switching back ton nonsecure http . I'm just afraid of losing whatever indexing we have. How can i avoid that? Thanks, a.

  • IIS throws HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable after installation of windows 8

    I was using IIS7.5 on Windows 7. Everything worked great. I then installed Windows 8. The shortcut link to my IIS7.5 stopped working, because all this was apparently moved to a windows.old folder. I had to install IIS8 via the 'turn Windows features on/off'. After I did that, I saw my sites again and everything looked ok, until I browsed to a site and got the error: Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. I restarted IIS, restarted my PC, restarted the single site, but the problem remains. I also tried looking at the event logs. My eventlogs used to be in C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC4, but I don't see any log of today in there. Maybe that has changed with the new IIS as well? If so, where are the eventlogs now or where can I see where they should be saved?

    I have to following situation: I had an old blog that was made using Joomla (this blog was indexed well enough by search engines). For some problems I delete it and I have create it again using WordPress. Now I have many visit (from Google) that leading to specific pages of the old site (pages that don't exist in the new version). For example I have visit to URL as: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test that don't exist on my new site. I would know if using the .htaccess file (or other sistem) I can redirect the HTTP request directed to some subfolder (that don't exist in the new version) to the homepage of my new site. For example I have the request towards the void URL: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test. And I would create a regular expression that say something like: all the request toward the subfolder corso-spring-mvc (and all it's content file and subfolder) have to be redirected to www.scorejava.com. Is it possible?

I have a dual-socket, socket-F motherboard in which I am looking to put two high-end quad-core Opterons, but the 2000 series are nearly double the price of the 8000 series on eBay. Can I just drop in a pair of 8000 series processors and be done with it, or are there processor-critical motherboard features that would be present on a quad(+)-socket motherboard that don’t exist on a dual-socket motherboard?
