• After 30 seconds, update MYSQL databse

  Hello everyone! I've been looking around here on SO and Googling, however I can't find anything that fits my description. What I want to do is update the database if the page has not been refreshed after 30 seconds. I want to email a person with the contents of a form {submitted by a different user} (I can do that) IF the person has NOT visited the page (I can do that) within the last 30 seconds. What I've tried to do is make the page that should be visited refresh every 30 seconds, and so I figured if I did something like after 31 seconds, edit the database (so if the refreshed page was not refreshed, the database editing would run). I'm sorry if this sounds complicated, there's probably a better way to do this, but I'm not sure how. The bigger picture is I'm trying to make a 'on-duty' sort of thing, so that if the person is not actively looking at the page, they will get emailed with whatever the contents of the form is. The page will contain a table of all the entered form results.

• loading an image from a package in Java (JFrame)

  i'm having a problem loading an image from a package i created in the project that was set to contain images, i have to write the whole picture location in the computer instead of just the package that contains it. i've tried several things but nothing seams to work... where is the command i use to load the image : searchBar = ImageIO.read(new File("C:\\Users\\ASUS\\Documents\\NetBeansProjects\\Project\\src\\Images\\search.jpg")); "Images" is a package in my project , this works, but when i try loading the image without the "C:\..." only with the "\Images..." it doesn't , so i have to change it every time i open this project in another computer. hopefully one of u has the answer for me , thanks in advance for any answer :)

• Robust way to display an image with one fixed dimension

  Lets say that we have an image uploaded by the user, the upload script limits the mb but not the image size (so could be any proportion, 600X200,200X350, and so...). Im already showing this image in one part on my site using the twitter bootstrap image handler written on css, thats good for a profile picture, the problem is that now I want that image to be a cover (like facebook/twitter cover image), my site is responsive so the width of the cover is 900px or 100% if the screen resolution is less than 900px wide. The height is always fixed to 200px. So I know there is a way to control the correct image display using CSS (maybe with jquery too) but Im not a front-end dev, Im a php dev and I dont want to use server side scripts for doing this. So im looking for suggestions or pieces of codes (css, javascript) to start with, I belive that it have to be an already made solution for this, but I dont find any on google. Thanks for any advice!

• how do i let text fit to UIButton?

  problem: Button size is enough, however when I change title, the title text cannot fit the button width. Any SDK function can solve this problem, or I need to manually code to solve it? Please refer to following pictures. design in the nib file. initial show in simulator when I change the title text tried some ways before _button.titleLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = YES; the way will change my font size. I cannot accept the way. [_button setTitleEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(10.0, 10.0, 0.0,0.0)]; the way change label's position only, not label size. [_button.titleLabel sizeToFit]; result is same with picture(3). [_button sizeToFit]; title moved to upper left corner, and the title still the same result. Just confused, my button size is big enough, why title size is so small?

  I have this weird issue,when I use > File FileToRead = new File("\\\\MYSERVER\\MYFOLDER\\MYFOLDER\\MYPICTURE.JPG"); to read a file over a network,all I get is a null pointer exception.Normally a local path works with this,but when on a network path,I just couldn't manage to get it to work.Any ideas? PS:oh and my network connection seems to work,no issues when accessing data in windows explorer... • Compare images to find differences

  Task: I have a camera mounted on the end of our assembly line, which captures images of produced items. Let's for example say, that we produce tickets (with some text and pictures on them). So every produced ticket is photographed and saved to disk as image. Now I would like to check these saved images for anomalies (i.e. compare them to an image (a template), which is OK). So if there is a problem with a ticket on our assembly line (missing picture, a stain,...), my application should find it (because its image differs too much from my template). Question: What is the easiest way to compare pictures and find differences between them? Do I need to write my own methods, or can I use existing ones? It would be great if I just set a tolerance value (i.e. images can differ for 1%), put both images in a function and get a return value of true or false :) Tools: C# or VB.NET, Emgu.CV (.NET wrapper for OpenCV) or something similar

  I always assumed that changing the value of k from "x" to 20 would eliminate "x". So why then in this example are we able to go back and reference "x"? a = {} k = "x" a[k] = 10 print(a[k]) ---> Returns 10 print(a["x"]) ---> Returns 10 a[20] = "great" k = 20 print(a[k]) ---> "great" a["x"] = a["x"] + 1 print(a["x"]) --> 11 Why does that last print command work, and return 11? I thought we set k = 20. Why is "x" even in the picture?

• jQuery click listener on <object> in IE failing

It it working in FF, Chrome/Safari but not in IE 7/8. Is there something I'm missing here? Big Picture: We're using a swf to render custom type and there is a link in the rendered (flash) content. We're hoping to catch the link action in the jQuery listener so we don't have to extend our swf have an optional param to return false on link click. • Are there any FTP programs which can automatically send the contents of a folder to a remote server?

  Are there any FTP programs which can automatically copy (or rather 'move') the contents of a folder to a remote server? I have of course googled this but only really found one or two ancient products which look really clunky and unmaintained. I was wondering if there's a way to do this from the command line or any better solution to the base problem. In more detail, new files get written to a folder every few hours. These new files need to be FTP'd elsewhere and then deleted. Mirroring or synchonisation systems are probably out of the picture as we need to delete the source files once they've been successfully transferred. If it's easier, the 'solution' could pull the files off the server (rather than the server pushing them to the client). The computers will both be Windows OS.

I can't use absolute positions, because I need to organize background to view it nice on any monitor, any resolution and any browser. It can be aligned to center or smth else.   HI, I would like to profile my c++ application on linux. I would like to find out how much time my application spent on CPU processing vs time spent on block by IO/being idle. I know there is a profile tool call valgrind on linux. But it breaks down time spent on each method, and it does not give me an overall picture of how much time spent on CPU processing vs idle? Or is there a way to do that with valgrind. Thank you.

  So i have a problem with the facebook og:image. site: http://images.vallo-app.com/4db279b31df280b/ if people use this link to show their image, its no problem, facebook loads the og:image But it is used in an iPhone App, so people make a picture and get a shortened url of bit.ly back and then they can post it. So if you post it, facebook juts doesn't show the preview of the image, but if you post that shortened bit.ly link on facebook.com in the statusupdate it does. Someone know what the problem is?

• Silverlight Spring Effect on TextBlock control

  Hi, I'd like to create view that if the user clicks on a control, let's say a TextBlock, that the control would spring back and forth in place from where the user clicked. By spring I mean push back and forth like if there were springs behind the TextBlock in each corner. I've seen demos of this type of effect, and for the life of me, I can't come up with the name of the effect to help with searches, or find an example of this. Maybe instead of a TextBlock it would help to image a picture that could be pressed down on, and as if springs were behind it and then would bounce back into place.

• jQuery slider - set background color to show desired range

  Howdy, I'm setting up a Filament Group jQuery UI slider and using it in a gradebook. We need to allow teachers to set a desired background range (to show the desirable values vs. the actual value for a given grade). I'm hoping to set a shaded area (as shown in this picture) that would indicate to people viewing the slider which values are desirable. If the handle is within the desired ranges, then the value is satisfactory. If the handle is out of the background shaded range, then some changes may need to happen. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Based on what I've experimented with using Firebug, it looks like a <div class="ui-slider"> is setup, but the values inside of it don't seem to allow setting background-colors (only the div allows for that).   hi, I've installed Taxonomy SuperSelect module in my Drupal. Now my customer can not only type the tag for some content types pages but also select multiple tags using checkboxes. I've also ordered the chekboxes alphabetically. • UITableView not showing background image.

  I have a uitableview with 2 cells (custom tableviewcells) and a button for login. I made them programmatically. Now I want to put a background image behind the 2 custom cells and the button. I went into IB and put the image view on top of the tableview and then put a picture on it which I want as the background. Then I went into viewDidLoad and put this bit of code tblSimpleTable.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; to clear the tableviews background colour. It now looks like this: But the background does not appear. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

  I'm looking for an extremely light-weight lightbox for jquery. i'm trying to create my own but i suck and my fist is about to go through the screen.... i'm talking like 5kb or less.. i know it can be done, and if i knew what i was doing i'd do it... but i'm just done for the day. So it works, but when i press start, i get the error/fault shown in the picture below. Does anyone know what causes it and most of all how i can solve it?   I have to tables ProdBiscuit As tb and StockData As sd , I have to get the sum of the quantity in StockData (quantite) with the condition of if (sd.status0 AND sd.prodid = tb.id AND sd.matcuisine = 3) Here is my sql query SELECT tb.id, tb.nom, tb.proddate, tb.qty, tb.stockrecno FROM ProdBiscuit AS tb JOIN (SELECT id, prodid, matcuisine, status, SUM(quantite) AS rq FROM StockData) AS sd ON (tb.id = sd.prodid AND sd.status > 0 AND sd.matcuisine = 3) LIMIT 25 OFFSET @Myid This gives me no rows at all ? There is only 3 rows in ProdBiscuit and 11 rows in Stockdata and there is only 2 rows in StockData good with the condition. And as shown in the picture there is only two rows which give the condition. What is wrong in my query ? PS: The green lines on the image shows the condition in my query.

After the program is done i would like to get my answers in form of a graph or picture that would give some certain information if i click on a certain area. i have only written console apllications in c++ before and don't really have a clue where to start with the graphic part of it all.   I have a list of Customers. Each customer has an address and some customers may actually have the same address. My ultimate goal is to group customers based on their address. I figure I could either put the customers in some sort of list-based structure and sort on the addresses, or I could drop the objects into some sort of map that allows multiple values per key.   I have a problem with PhotobucketNet user login(I need user to login so I can upload a picture from HDD to his Photobucket account). I know that timer isn't a good solution, so if anyone has anything better as an idea, I'm open for any suggestions...

• Multiple column Union Query without duplicates

  I'm trying to write a Union Query with multiple columns from two different talbes (duh), but for some reason the second column of the second Select statement isn't showing up in the output. I don't know if that painted the picture properly but here is my code: Select empno, job From EMP Where job = 'MANAGER' Union Select empno, empstate From EMPADDRESS Where empstate = 'NY' Order By empno The output looks like: EMPNO JOB 4600 NY 5300 MANAGER 5300 NY 7566 MANAGER 7698 MANAGER 7782 MANAGER 7782 NY 7934 NY 9873 NY Instead of 5300 and 7782 appearing twice, I thought empstate would appear next to job in the output. For all other empno's I thought the values in the fields would be (null). Am I not understanding Unions correctly, or is this how they are supposed to work? Thanks for any help in advance.
