    Hi, I'm just finished my Amazon EC2 migration and I want to delete all the files (databases, source code) from the old servers. The problem is that the servers are in California and my business is in Chile, soo I only have ssh access to that servers. I'm planning to sell the servers and I'm wondering if there is a way to perform a low levele deletion remotely of the specific files and folders. Thanks in advance! José Antonio

  • Can Amazon VMs be used as Active Directory domain controllers?

    I've got a client who wants to move his companies servers off site. As he is only a 10 person company I'm looking for some pretty in-expensive options. One option is the smallest of the Amazon cloud machines. The question becomes can I make one of these machines a domain controller? Cost wise the Amazon machine is cheaper than the power costs of keeping a server (or a PC) up and running in his home office 24x7 thanks to the high cost of power in Southern California.

    This weekend was the first time a commercial space craft successfully rendezvoused with the International Space Station. Check out this video to see the opening of the hatch. From the notes on NASA’s video release: Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 31 Flight Engineer Don Pettit and Joe Acaba of NASA and European Space Agency Flight Engineer Andre Kuipers opened the hatch to SpaceX’s Dragon cargo craft and entered the vehicle May 26, one day after the world’s first commercial cargo spacecraft was berthed to the Earth-facing port of the Harmony module.   • All day optimizer event....
