  Ma délelott lezajlott az Oracle Technology Fórum rendezvény. A Database szekcióban Tóth Csaba tartotta a nyitó eloadást, melyben az IT költségek csökkentési lehetoségeirol beszélt Oracle Database 11g felhasználásával. Ot követoen én beszéltem az Oracle Enterprise Manager által kínált extrém menedzsment képességekrol, amely ma már nem csak adatbázis menedzsmentet jelent, hanem a teljes alkalmazás infrastruktúra üzemeltetésre koncentrál, kiemelt figyelmet fordítva az üzlet valós kiszolgálására. Szünet elott még Mosolygó Feri tartott egy eloadást az adatbázis-kezelo és a felho kapcsolatáról, majd szünet után Fekete Zoltán folytatta a Database Machine bemutatásával. Zoli után ismét Mosolygó Feri tartott eloadást ezúttal az adatbázis biztonságról, majd én zártam a napot a kockázatmentes változáskezelés témával.

• Architecture Forum in the North 2010 - Hosted by Black Marble

  On Thursday the 8th of December I attended the "Architecture Forum in the North 2010" hosted by Black Marble. The third time this annual event has been held, it was pitched as featuring Black Marble and Microsoft UK architecture experts focusing on “Tools and Methods for Architects.... a unique opportunity to provide IT Managers, IT and software architects from Northern businesses the chance to learn about the latest technologies and best practices from Microsoft in the field of Architecture....insightful information about the latest techniques, demonstrating how with Microsoft’s architecture tools and technologies you can address your current business needs." Following a useful overview of the Architecture features of Visual Studio 2010, the rest of the day was given over to various features and ways to make use of Microsoft's Azure offerings.  While I did feel that a wider spread of technologies could have been covered (maybe a bit of Sharepoint or BizTalk even), the technological and architectural overviews of the Azure platform were well presented, informative and useful. The day was well organised and all those involved were friendly and approachable for questions and discussions.  If you are in "the North" and get a chance to attend next year I would highly recommend it.

• How to avoid Hotmail/Live rejections for (legit) large volume eMailing?

  While qualifying eMail for Spam, Hotmail/Live checks the historical records of numbers of eMails sent by a sender (FROM, eMail Server, IP, etc.). Some times, perfectly valid bulk eMails that are not Spam, (i.e. double opt-in list, from a server with proper SPF Record, signed with DKIM, unregister links and contact info, etc.) are rejected and not delivered to destinataries. Not even to their Junk folder. I guess we can avoid this situation by progressivelly "training" Hotmail/Live about the reputation of our sender and sending small quantyties of eMails innitially and increasing the quantity for some amount/percentaje during each delivery. Are there guidelines or do you have any experience on these quantities, strategy, solutions? Thank you in advance.   On March 14-15th we have celebrated our 2012 Exadata & Manageability Partner Communities EMEA Forum, in Istanbul, Turkey. It has been an intense two days, packed with great content and a lot of networking. Organizing the Manageability and the Exadata Partner Forums jointly has allowed participants to benefit from the content of both topcis, which have strong connections as the journey to cloud architectures request that the cloud infrastructures are built on the best building blocks and are managed automatically and in a self-service way. During the sessions we have listened to two thought-leaders in our industry, Ron Tolido, from Capgemini, and Julian Dontcheff, from Accenture. We thank our Exadata partners -ISE (Germany), Inserve (Sweden), Fors (Russia), Linkplus (Turkey) and Sogeti, for sharing with the community their experiences in selling and implementing Exadata and Manageability projects. • Website address hacked, emails created but not showing in manage your account

  I have a website, thebleudoor.com. It is hosted by yahoo. It gets 2000-3000 hits a day and has been for at least 5 years. A few months ago, as admin of the website, I started getting bounced back emails from newly created emails like [email protected]. Yahoo only shows 2 emails for my account. They said they can't do anything about it. Now, my "spam hacked email accounts" are getting spam. They haven't altered or used my website or email or bank info, just the good name of my website. Is there anything I can do? Do I need to be concerned? Changing my provider won't really help will it? Thank you.

  Today Installed Visual Studio 2010 in my new Sony Vaio laptop. I’ve habit of taking screen shots while setups are running. It helps me if I want to find the items what I installed earlier for that software. but taking screen shots is not required for the software's like Visual Studio as it provides add/remove items at anytime. Below are the screen shorts for the members are you new to Visual Studio installation, it’s pretty much easy and self understandable if you follow the instructions mentioned in installation wizard. I thought it does several system restarts as earlier versions, but VS2010 did not restart the machine. Just it said successfully installed. You might want to refer this link for further assistance. But I don't know what are steps to do so. What I know is make a site or portal. But what after that? There are lot of people having so much traffic on sites built with some simple open source. Many of them are forums. I also wanted to start a forum and a web portal. I can develop that or can have open source. But what after that? Content entry and SEO? • Group "Discussion" software?

  My client wants a "lite" forum... not unlike these stack exchange sites, but even a little lighter. There's a screenshot of the discussion group she likes most, below. You can also go here to see it for yourself it you like. I don't think traditional forum apps will display, functionally, in this manner. Is there any software I can use to get a similar result? A web service would be acceptable as well.

• Why confirmation emails end up in the spam folder all of a sudden?

  I run a forum similar to this one where people can sign up and post. I don't use Open ID (oops?) as we have our own sign up and email confirmation system. Everything was going fine up until a week ago when all of a sudden all emails starting either going to spam boxes or not being sent at all. Anyone know why this would happen seeminlgy out of the blue?

  New Mac OS X Server setup, when i send mail to gmail it goes straight to Spam. Why is that? My setup: DNS - done (A records PTR are ok) Mail Setup - done Webmail - done Also there seems to be a naming problem. They all come from [email protected] instead of [email protected]. I must be missing an alias somewhere. I've read an entire book on setting this up so don't throw stones :) The GUI is masking a lot of this up for me, so explanations via GUI is appreciated.

• website attack form submission triggering emails related questions

  We are experiencing website attacks that trigger the submission of a form, and send alert emails. Normal process of form submission is to fill up a couple of text fields, and when the user is redirected, the next page processes $_POST. If $_POST exists, then the email to intended form recipients is triggered. What is happening right now, we are receiving the email of the form submission, three emails at a time with same information. The information per email is the same, but not all of the spam emails contain the same information, each batch of triggered emails has unique information. The form has no captcha, and if possible we would like to keep it this way. The website has worked fine and had no spamming problems until today. We have monitoring software for the website, but whoever is submitting this form over and over is not being recorded by the tracking software WHY IS THIS? IS THE PERSON ACTUALLY VISITING THE WEBSITE? The only suspicious visit tracked was on November 10th, and this record ALSO shows three forms submitted (this is how I identified possible first visit by attacker). Then no incidents until today. WHAT IS THE GOAL of the spam attack? Is the attacker expecting us to respond to the bogus emails? What can they achieve with repeated submission of form Why are three emails triggered in the row? Is this indicative that they may be using a script? This is a PHP website. Is there a way for a client to view the PHP code of a page? Thank you

  I have two domains - domain.com and forum.domain.com that points to the same directory. I'd like redirect all request from forum.domain.com to domain.com (for example: forum.domain.com/foo to domain.com/forum/foo) without changing address in addres bar (hidden redirect).
