    What is the approach for storing the latitudes and longitudes for multiple addresses as a one time set up. I need to find the nearby stores using Google Maps and I have to get the latitudes and longitudes of all the available stores. As the data is huge and may increase or change in future, can anyone suggest an approach taking performance and maintenance into consideration. Thank you.

  • How to transfer Google Earth route to Google Maps?

    I have a GPX route, I imported it into Google Earth. Everything is fine, so I saved it as KMZ file. Then just for check, I imported KMZ back into Google Earth. No problem. The thing is, I would like to work with Google Maps, no Google Earth and I am not able to transfer this route into Google Maps. Each time I select "show in Google Maps", the view is switched from Earth to Maps, but my route is missing. If I use standalone web browser and try to import any of the files directly to Google Maps, either it falls into some infinite loop (I wait ~hour and still see progress bar) or Google Maps shows error. Thus the question: how to transfer a route from Google Earth to Google Maps? The size of GPX file is 3MB, the size of KMZ is 1MB.

    I make a game extending the class GLSurfaceView, if I apply SetContentView directly to that class, the 3d stuff and input works great. Now I want to show some items over 3d stuff, so I create a XML with a layout and some objects, and I try to add my class manually to the layout.     Hi guys, I am developing an Android app but I'm still pretty new. I want to have a button, and when you push that button, a few TextViews and Buttons will appear. So I have a main linear layout, and then another linear layout nested inside containing the things I want hidden. I have the nested linear layout set to android:visibility="gone". The problem I am having is that it only shows the first item inside the hidden linear layout instead of all of them.   • How do you set Android ViewPager to encompass only one View or Layout?

    I am struggling with the concepts needed to properly implement a view pager. By following some tutorials and referencing developer.android.com, I am able to get a view pager almost fully functional. The pager will flip through several text views that have been setup to say "My Message 0" through "My Message 9". The problem is that the view pager also flips the button on the bottom of the activity and the red block that is right above the button. I would like to have the view pager only cycle through the text. Would you please help me understand what I'm doing wrong?     I am trying to implement a custom infoBubble that has the box opening to the side of a marker. This has turned out to be harder than expected. Using the normal infoWindow you can use pixelOffset. See here for the documentation Using infoBubble this does not seem to be the case. Is there anyway of using pixelOffset in an infoBubble, or something that will do the same thing?   • Address component type in google maps geocoding

    this is a part of my geocoding code. I want it to show only country of the selected place, but it shows all address components, My problem is I cant specify the address components object.   • Set iPhone Style Location Based Alerts On Your Android Device With Google Now

    Location based alerts of iPhone are very useful. You can set an alert to popup as soon as you reach a specific location like “Pickup milk and eggs” when I’m near a grocery store. This feature was missing in Android for a long time, but last week at Google I/O conference Google released an update to Google Now which supports location based alerts. To setup a location based alert 1. Launch Google Now 2. Type or say add reminder 3. By default it shows time based alert interface, switch it location based by touching Location icon 4. Set reminder text, choose a location and touch Set reminder 5. Your alert is set now and as soon as you are close by the specified location, you’ll see an alert on your device. This is a nice feature and I’m using it quite often for the past couple of days.  There are couple of things missing from the current version of Google Now location based alerts– recurring alerts and ability to set alerts on leaving a specific location. It is not possible to recur location based alerts. You will be alerted only once as soon as you reach the location and it is not possible to repeat the alert next time you visit the location. Lets say you want to be reminded to say hi to friend’s parents whenever you are travelling close by their home. It does not work. The second missing feature is something basic and some how Google did not incorporate in their first iteration. Lets say you are at office now and you want to set up alert to pickup flowers when you leave office. Sounds like a simple use case for location based alerts right? But there is no way to set this type of alerts. Google Now alerts you as soon as you reach a location, but not when you leave a location. Do you have an Android that supports Google Now? If so what are your thoughts on location based alerts?

    I control a subpage of a site: economics.university.edu/summerschool I have access to CNAME, etc. However I want to use Google sites to create the site and then map the URL above to my Google site. In other words, someone on the university site that navigated to the summer school page would be redirected to the Google site transparently. However I keep getting this error from Google: "The format of the web address is unsupported." Is this possible?
