  Does the HTML/CSS for an html email newsletter need to be in table format, or can I use DIVs with equal assurance it will display well cross email-client?   I work with a Panasonic hcm280a camera that can be controlled by my software, It generates a stream of jpeg files that are huge and I want to convert this stream to a FLV stream preferably with a good compressional ration Does FFMpeg do that? I am basically looking for an off the shelve open source software (or commercial software) that can generate that streaming media for me. Again my input is a stream of jpg files that come from the camera server. Any insight or comment would be greatly appreciated Thanks

  Hi, How can I prevent my bitmap from being scaled automatically in an ImageView or ImageButton if the view or button is stretched using "fill_parent" or using "weight"? This will be useful, for example, to create a 4-button toolbar at the top of the screen where the buttons are equally spaced, but the images inside the buttons keep getting streched even if I use scaleType="center", which should prevent scaling according to the doc, but it doesn't.   Hi, I'm writing up an iPhone app using the Google Maps API V3, and I was wondering if it is still possible the use the stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString function in the (void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView function? A simple example being changing the map type (Assuming basic map setup): - (void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView{ [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"map.setMapTypeId(google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE);"];} This was very possible the the 2.0 API, but I can't seem to get it right in the 3.0 API.   Should I use oAuth, for example LinkedIn or Twitter, as my signin mechanism for my app? It seems that most apps just use oAuth to connect other services to it, but they make you set up your own user/password after you use oAuth (including StackOverflow), and I'm not really sure why this is. • MVC4 dynamically changing master layout page doesn't work on first load

  I have an MVC4 mobile project that I want to add a desktop (non mobile) page to for some users. I have added a new desktop master page and assigned my view to use it. The first time I navigate to the page it renders using jquerymobile which appears to somehow be cached from the previous screen. If I hit F5 to refresh the page it displays using the assigned desktop masterpage correctly. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Any insight appreciated

  Hi; I'm trying to create a multi-sheet excel document, and thus far I'd been doing it in PHP - but using PHPExcel was eating up 70MB of RAM for about 60,000 spreadsheet cells total. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Spreadsheet::WriteExcel and if it has problems with creating very large documents. I'd just give it a shot but I'm very inexperienced with Perl and it could take me quite a bit of time to get this up and rolling even if for a test, and I thought someone here might have insight for me.

• MongoDB index/RAM relationship

  I'm about to adopt MongoDB for a new project and I've chosen it for flexibility, not scalability. From the documentation and web posts I keep reading that all indexes are in RAM. This just isn't making sense to me as my indexes will easily be larger than the amount of available RAM. Can anyone share some insight on the index/RAM relationship and what happens when both an individual index and all of my indexes exceed the size of available RAM?

  I'm trying to set meta tags using jQuery (please don't reply that this doesn't make sense since search engines blah-blah-blah... I am loading invoking 3rd party Javascript functions that examine these vales, such as Tweetmeme and Facebook). If I use: $('meta[name=some-name]').attr('content', 'some value'); it does work to set the value of an existing meta tag, but does not create a meta tag if such a named one does not exist.
