But I want to make next and previous links with jQuery, which finds the active page you're on (probably by checking for a class), and finding the previous and next anchor element (taking no regards of the hierarchy). I've tried with next(), previous() and find() but can't seem to get it to work. What is the easiest way to get the anchor elements before and after the current one?

    With named parameters like def f(x : Int = 1, y : Int = 2) = x * y your parameter names become part of the interface f(x=3) Now if you want to change the parameter names locally, you are forced to perserve the public name of the parameter: def f(x : Int = 1, y : Int = 2) = { val (a,b) = (x,y) a * b } If this a real problem? Is there a syntax to support this directly? Who do other languages handle this?

    I am trying to read the Excel Named range using OLEDB using the below code "Select * from [MyNamedRange1]" everything works fine only when the source excel sheet is not opened if it is open then i am not able to read the range names using OLEDB it simply hangs Where as i am able to execute the query "Select * from [Sheet1$]" even if the workbook is open or closed... Any work arounds for reading the range by OLEDB only i dont want to go for interop... I have too many ranges defined in the excel file

  • C Named pipe (fifo). Parent process gets stuck

    I want to make a simple program, that fork, and the child writes into the named pipe and the parent reads and displays from the named pipe.     I load scripts using luaL_loadfile and then lua_pcall from my game, and was wondering if instead of loading them into the global table, I could load them into a table named after their filename?     So we're required to use the following order for CSS anchor pseudo-classes a:link { color: red } a:visited { color: blue } a:hover { color: yellow } a:active { color: lime } But my question is why bother with the a:link part? Rather, is there any advantage to the above (other than perhaps clarity) over: a { color:red; } /* notice no :link part */ a:visited { color: blue; } etc.,etc.

  • Optional Parameters and Named Arguments in C# 4 (and a cool scenario w/ ASP.NET MVC 2)

Follow me at: twitter.com/scottgu] This is the seventeenth in a series of blog posts I’m doing on the upcoming VS 2010 and .NET 4 release. Today’s post covers two new language feature being added to C# 4.0 – optional parameters and named arguments – as well as a cool way you can take advantage of optional parameters (both in VB and C#) with ASP.NET MVC 2. Optional Parameters in C# 4.0 C# 4.0 now supports using optional parameters with methods, constructors, and indexers (note: VB has supported optional parameters for awhile). Parameters are optional when a default value is specified as part of a declaration.  For example, the method below takes two parameters – a “category” string parameter, and a “pageIndex” integer parameter.  The “pageIndex” parameter has a default value of 0, and as such is an optional parameter: When calling the above method we can explicitly pass two parameters to it: Or we can omit passing the second optional parameter – in which case the default value of 0 will be passed:   Note that VS 2010’s Intellisense indicates when a parameter is optional, as well as what its default value is when statement completion is displayed: Named Arguments and Optional Parameters in C# 4.0 C# 4.0 also now supports the concept of “named arguments”.  This allows you to explicitly name an argument you are passing to a method – instead of just identifying it by argument position.  For example, I could write the code below to explicitly identify the second argument passed to the GetProductsByCategory method by name (making its usage a little more explicit): Named arguments come in very useful when a method supports multiple optional parameters, and you want to specify which arguments you are passing.  For example, below we have a method DoSomething that takes two optional parameters: We could use named arguments to call the above method in any of the below ways: Because both parameters are optional, in cases where only one (or zero) parameters is specified then the default value for any non-specified arguments is passed. ASP.NET MVC 2 and Optional Parameters One nice usage scenario where we can now take advantage of the optional parameter support of VB and C# is with ASP.NET MVC 2’s input binding support to Action methods on Controller classes. For example, consider a scenario where we want to map URLs like “Products/Browse/Beverages” or “Products/Browse/Deserts” to a controller action method.  We could do this by writing a URL routing rule that maps the URLs to a method like so: We could then optionally use a “page” querystring value to indicate whether or not the results displayed by the Browse method should be paged – and if so which page of the results should be displayed.  For example: /Products/Browse/Beverages?page=2. With ASP.NET MVC 1 you would typically handle this scenario by adding a “page” parameter to the action method and make it a nullable int (which means it will be null if the “page” querystring value is not present).  You could then write code like below to convert the nullable int to an int – and assign it a default value if it was not present in the querystring: With ASP.NET MVC 2 you can now take advantage of the optional parameter support in VB and C# to express this behavior more concisely and clearly.  Simply declare the action method parameter as an optional parameter with a default value: C# VB If the “page” value is present in the querystring (e.g. /Products/Browse/Beverages?page=22) then it will be passed to the action method as an integer.  If the “page” value is not in the querystring (e.g. /Products/Browse/Beverages) then the default value of 0 will be passed to the action method.  This makes the code a little more concise and readable. Summary There are a bunch of great new language features coming to both C# and VB with VS 2010.  The above two features (optional parameters and named parameters) are but two of them.  I’ll blog about more in the weeks and months ahead. If you are looking for a good book that summarizes all the language features in C# (including C# 4.0), as well provides a nice summary of the core .NET class libraries, you might also want to check out the newly released C# 4.0 in a Nutshell book from O’Reilly: It does a very nice job of packing a lot of content in an easy to search and find samples format.   • How can I map the docky anchor button so that it will launch the unity dash?

    Example of a Docky Dock I have the Docky dock on my desktop. It has an anchor logo button (as seen on the left side image of the link above) that brings up the Docky settings. I want to map it so that it opens my dash instead. I believe I can do this through gconf and by setting the docky button to either my super key or the necessary path required to open the dash function (but I do not know this path or how to code a button to a keyboard key). How can I map the docky anchor button so that it will launch the unity dash (as similar to when you simply tap the super key)?

But I am unable to put in the production env (apahce). My project name is apstat and the app name is basic.   • How can I anchor a textbox in wpf ?

    I have a window with tabs. On one of the tabs, I have a layout like below. (In fact it is more complicated, I have 4 text boxes in a row, and I have more rows.) How can I make the 3rd textbox have the width of the label + the width of the text box above, that is, to have them properly aligned ? The problem is that WPF widens the 3rd textbox, when I type text into it. Using hardcoded numbers for the sizes defeats the whole purpose of WPF. I could do that way 10 times faster in Windows Forms than in WPF.   • jQuery form wizard - named anchor links

    Hi Team, Using: http://home.aland.net/sundman/ to split a complex form in to 4 steps. As well as as the 'next, back and submit' form buttons, I have created a menu above the form: step 1, step 2, step 3, step 4 linking to the hash tags #: #, #1, #2, #3 so the visitor can decide which step they want to view / edit. This works fine in firefox, but in IE and Chrome it does not seem to work. Anyone have experience with hte jQuery history plugin that can tell me the best way to accomplish this? I would like to link to the form but it is in a password protected area and subject to our NDA. If need be I could try and replicate the issue with a form on our server and link here. Thanks, Jack

Right after a user submits a comment, I would like the top of the user's browser to be anchored by the comment the user just submitted. How can I do this? Now my prob is: I need to call this popup in form load using JavaScript.     I would like to implement something similar to the Google quick scroll extension with jquery for the extracts of a search result, so when the full document is opened (within the same website) it gives the user the opportunity to go straight to the extract location. Is there an existing jquery script for this? If not, can you suggest any jquery/javascript code that would simplify my task to implement this. Notes: I can access the extracts from the document details page. I'm aware that the HTML in some cases could be slightly different in the extract than in the details page, finding no match. The search engine does not return where the extract was located. At the moment I'm trying to understand the JS code that the extension uses.

I have the following css code. button.png is image where 3 button states are pasted vetrically, so i just move image in css. a.button { background-image: url(button.png); background-position: 0px 0px; width: 100px; height: 30px; display: block; background-repeat: no-repeat; text-indent: -9999px; } a:hover.button { background-position: -100px 0px; } a.button[disabled] { background-position: -200px 0px; cursor:default; } I put this in html <a href="#" class="button" disabled="disabled"></a> In Chrome all is ok. IE dont show disabled image.
