    Hi, Im trying to create my own class which contains a DrawingVisual, something like this public class MyObject { public DrawingVisual visual; public bool faceup; public bool flipped; } I have a drag and drop from a listview to a canvas, but when I try to get the object which back from the Canvas i only get the visual, not any of the other stuff in the class. How do i save "objects" and retreive it from a canvas? Im using my own MyCanvas which inheritance from Canvas, and using the AddVisualChild & AddLogicalChild etc. // Robbin

  • i want to start my own software/consulting company...ohhh the dilemma [closed]

    I know this is may not be the right place to ask this sort of question,,on the other hand i am sure that it maybe the best...as many of you own a startup. I've been in the industry since 2006, mostly in consulting/business system analysis/project management jobs, not so much coding etc, and although i like working for the companies i am in at the moment...i daily think of starting up something on my own, consulting company,a software company with a good product, but it's the dilemma of making the first step, havent got much money saved up, i have a mortgage and about to start a family so as you can see it's difficult to let the security of a job and take the risk to just do it.... I am sure many of you have been in this dilemma, how did you start off? advice is greatly appreciated Andy

    Hey, I am looking for a way to host private git repos on my own server. I am using Github for Open source projects of mine, but I would prefer to use my own server for storing private git repos. Can someone suggest me on which script should I be using for this purpose. Trac is not what I am looking for, though. I want something that is, preferably PHP based solution (just optional) and esp. something that has an easier UI. Any help is appreciated here.

  • Own DataFormWebPart: Unable to display this Web Part.

    Hi, What I want is to display a paginable list from my custom data source. All came from the fact that I needed some logical relationships between seach scopes and some dates. I considered ContentQueryWebpart, but CAML is too complicated as I have plenty of different conditions, CoreResults webpart is too limited as it uses KeyWordQuery so I inherited from DataFormWebPart to display my own custom search results from my own custom xml source. Thats the best way i am aware of... I knew I needed some configuration to write in my pageLayout like MyWebParts:MyCustomWebPart etc so I went to Designer, put DataFormWebPart on a page, linked it to list of pages, and set multiple item view and that gave me some configuration.. Firstly i checked if DataFormWebPart works when put on pageLayout and it sucessfully displayed my pages list in pages library. But that was not what I wanted, i needed to set my own XML data source... I then changed the configuration of WebPartPages:DataFormWebPart to match mine and detach from any listName or listId and I change the XSL tag to much simplier to display all results and now I am getting: Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator. and there is no way to know what is wrong:/ The webpart public class MyCustomWebPart : DataFormWebPart{ public override void DataBind() { ......   • MVC keeping the PartialView in its own context - ignore the main view holding the partial view

    I'm looking at the partialview components of the MVC Framework. i want my partial view to be handled in its own action and for the rest of the view to handle itself, but i'm getting an exception because the main page is not getting its view fired. Am i going around this the wrong way? Rather then having all the form submitting code in the main action for the view. am i do this wrong?

    For my java project, i am using the java logging api. I want to log everything using a property file. Before using this file (log.properties), I configured my onwn fommater in the java code. (see below) Now I want to configure my own fomater in the propertie file, instead of the java code. does someone know how to do that ?   • "import numpy" tries to load my own package

    I have a python (2.7) project containing my own packages util and operator (and so forth). I read about relative imports, but perhaps I didn't understand. I have the following directory structure: top-dir/ util/__init__.py (empty) util/ua.py util/ub.py operator/__init__.py ... test/test1.py The test1.py file contains #!/usr/bin/env python2 from __future__ import absolute_import # removing this line dosn't change anything. It's default functionality in python2.7 I guess import numpy as np It's fine when I execute test1.py inside the test/ folder.     Recently I asked which was the best Swing component to bind to a BigDecimal variable (with some particular editing properties). It turns out that none of the standard Swing components suit me completely, nor did the third-party Swing component libraries I've found out there. So I’ve decided to create my own Swing component. Component description: I want to extend JTextField or JFormattedTextField, so my new component can be easily bound to a BigDecimal variable. The component will have customizable scale and length properties. Behavior: When the component is drawn, it shows only the decimal point and space for scale digits to its right. When the component receives focus the caret should be positioned left to the decimal point. As the user types numbers (any other character is ignored) they appear to the left of the caret, only length – scale numbers are accepted, any other number typed is ignored as the integer portion is full. Any time the user types the decimal point the caret moves to the right side of the decimal point. The following numbers typed are shown in the decimal part, only scale numbers are considered any other number typed is ignored as the decimal portion is full. Additionally, thousand separators should appear as the user types numbers left to the decimal point. Invoking a getValue() method on the component should yield the BigDecimal representing the number just entered. I’ve never created my own Swing component; I’ve barely used the standard ones. So I would appreciate any good tutorial/info/tip on creating the component described. This is the only thing I've got so far. Thanks in advance.

  • .NET - A way to add my own clipboard format to existing formats

    I have a Excel addin that displays some structures on the worksheet. Users can copy the structures and paste them in another worksheet or another application which is handled by the Clipboard formats. When a user copies the structure, I convert the structure into a specific format and put it on the clipboard using the DataObject::SetData(). Please note that when a copy is initiated in Excel, it puts a number of formats on the clipboard (see image). The problem is that there is a third party application that depends on the data on the clipboard(Copy from Excel and paste into this 3rd party app) but the funny thing is that I am not sure which format it depends on. I need to preserve the existing formats that Excel has put up there and also add my own format to it. Currently when I use the Clipboard class in .NET (taking the DataObject and calling SetData inside it), all the other formats are replaced by new ones. I then tried to create a new DataObject, copy the existing format data to this data object and then set this data object in the Clipboard. For example, I'd like to write a function that takes in an input like $object->attribute and says to itself: OK, he's giving me $foo->bar, which means he must think that $foo is an object that has a property called bar. Before I try accessing bar and potentially get a 'Trying to get property of non-object' error, let me check whether $foo is even an object. The end goal is to echo a value if it is set, and fail silently if not. I want to avoid repetition like this: <input value="<? if(is_object($foo) && is_set($foo->bar)){ echo $foo->bar; }?> "/> ...and to avoid writing a function that does the above, but has to have the object and attribute passed in separately, like this: <input value="<? echoAttribute($foo,'bar') ?>" /> ...but to instead write something which: preserves the object-attribute syntax is flexible: can also handle array keys or regular variables Like this: <input value="<? echoIfSet($foo->bar); ?> /> <input value="<? echoIfSet($baz['buzz']); ?> /> <input value="<? echoIfSet($moo); ?> /> But this all depends on PHP being able to tell me "what kind of thing am I asking for when I say $object->attribute or $array[$key]", so that my function can handle each according to its own type.   • C++: how to build my own utility library?

    I am starting to be proficient enough with C++ so that I can write my own C++ based scripts (to replace bash and PHP scripts I used to write before). I find that I am starting to have a very small collection of utility functions and sub-routines that I'd like to use in several, otherwise unrelated C++ scripts. I know I am not supposed to reinvent the wheel and that I could use external libraries for some of the utilities I'm creating for myself. However, it's fun to create my own utility functions, they are perfectly tailored to the job I have in mind, and it's for me a large part of the learning process. I'll see about using more polished external libraries when I am proficient enough to work on more serious, long term projects. So, the question is: how do I manage my personal utility library in a way that the functions can be easily included in my various scripts? I am using linux/Kubuntu, vim, g++, etc. and mostly coding CLI scripts. Don't assume too much in terms of experience! ;) Links to tutorials or places where relevant topics are properly documented are welcome.

    I am moving from using only Intellij to manage my build system to Intellij/Maven. When I run my integration test "MapSimulationTest" with my own runner via @RunWith(KmlParameterizedRunner.class) Intellij correctly handles the situation, the directory specified by the system property "user.dir" is scanned for .kml files and each is tested. The problem seems to be that Surefire ignores @RunWith, any suggestions?
