• Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 crashes - ieframe.dll

  Outlook 2010 is crashing rather randomly, not at any specific time like opening a preview pane or message. Event viewer gives the following Faulting application name: OUTLOOK.EXE, version: 14.0.6131.5000, time stamp: 0x509b1020 Faulting module name: ieframe.dll, version: 9.0.8112.16464, time stamp: 0x50ec98f5 Similar events have been logged only with URLMON.DLL, but with ieframe.dll more frequent. I'm looking where to start with this problem, and I'm starting with running outlook in safe mode using Outlook /safe from the start menu. Further complicating this issue are 2 programs syncing email to other calenders. Should I start with these additional programs that are syncing email as being possible culprits? Or does this have to do with Internet Explorer because of the DLL associated with these crashes? I've tried regsvr32 with both DLL's mentioned, with ieframe being unsuccessful. So my question is: what's causing Outlook to crash?

• Ubuntu Sudo apt-get -f install

  I was trying to install a program. And It said that my Dependencies were unmet. And that I should run, sudo apt-get -f install. I have moved everything I didn't need in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ into the trash. My source.list is all Natty while I am running Oneiric. So maybe I need a new source.list? • Programmatically filtering contacts in Outlook 2010 Add-In

  I am trying to programmatically filter Outlook contacts in the Contacts folder in Outlook 2010. I followed DASL filter rules, but it seems working for Find function and throws exception when I assign this filter to view.Filter = FilterString. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? • Outlook 2007, how to stop replies from being sent if they meet criteria

  I have my college's email account auto-forwarded (they don't offer pop3 or imap) to my main gmail account so I don't have to go to their website to check for mail. That gmail account, and others, use pop3 down to my Outlook 2007. In my Outlook, I have a rule that puts mail sent to my @college address into a folder named Collegemail. Since the college email system lacks pop3 or imap, I have to go to their site to send a reply, so that the reply will be sent from my @college email address. The problem is that I cannot seem to get into the habit of going to my college's website to reply to those emails, so quite often I reply to them while in Outlook, which means my replies are sent "from" my main gmail address. How can I set up Outlook to either 1) disable replying to emails in the Collegemail folder or to emails where my college email address is in the original To: line, or else 2) set it to send those replies from a non-functional dummy account. The dummy account would be unable to send the email so the email would be stuck in the Outbox. (I already have the non-functional dummy account set up as Outlook's "Default" account. When I compose a new mail I have to deliberately pick one of my good accounts to send the new mail with, or else Outlook uses the default dummy account and the email stays in the Outbox with a Send error.) • Error installing Copy.com client

  I'm trying to install copy.com's client on Ubuntu 13.10 but when I do, I get the following error message: Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" (CopyAgent:4430): LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **: watch_submenu: assertion 'GTK_IS_MENU_SHELL(menu)' failed From there, it initially appears that the Copy client installs correctly. I am prompted to login and their icon shows up in the task bar. However, sync does not work properly. Items placed in my Copy folder on other devices (or through the web interface) sometimes download to this machine, and sometimes don't. I have investigated the first error message and found this solution, that I should insall the libcanberra-gtk-module. But when trying to install it, it is already installed. Just to be sure, I reinstalled it but it seems to have had no effect. I attempted to investigate the second error message and found that lots of different programs give similar error messages, but all of the solutions I could find seemed to be specific to the program that was under discussion on that particular thread. Any thoughts on how I could solve this? Or at least what I can try next?

  Current situation: We have a VPS that hosts a website example.org. Exim is configured to work as a smarthost. All emails sent through exim are successfully relayed to another mail server (that is working on example.com). Goal: To forward mail sent to *@example.org to *@example.com, i.e. change the recipient's address from *@example.org to *@example.com. Problem: If I send email to address *@example.org, then it seems exim doesn't change the address, it still relays the message to another mail server but recipient is still *@example.org. Maybe the redirect is not applied for some reason.   My office utilizes Outlook 2010 and Exchange for e-mail, and our calendars show free/busy information by default. Background I work from home once a week, so I have created an event that lists me as tentative for the entire workday, titled "Working from Home - Available Remotely". However, those attempting to schedule a meeting with me won't see this title, and therefore won't think they can schedule an event. As much as I'd like to get out meetings (!) it's important that folks be able to schedule with me. Question Is there a way to make the title/details public for this one recurring event so that when others attempt to schedule a meeting with me, Attempted Solutions I've tried creating a public calendar and sharing all the details of that calendar. However, all of my calendars are not included when someone wants to schedule with me, and so I'm shown as free unless someone specifically looks at my public calendar. • In Outlook 2013, the reading pane does not display images correctly for most emails (but does for some)

  I am running Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 Enterprise. When I click on an email in the list of messages, the preview of the message in the reading pane usually will not show the images contained in the email, but instead will show a red 'X'. Sometimes this red 'X' is followed by the text "The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renmaed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location." I am using an IMAP email account. The really strange thing is that for some emails, the images will display, although they take a long time to load. How can I make the images show up in the reading pane?

• Why is Outlook 2007 resizing images in outgoing and incoming HTML email? How can I fix this?

  In my Outlook 2007 client, embedded images in incoming emails appear resized when the message is viewed. The incoming images are resized to 198px wide, despite the original size. If it was larger, it will be shrunk; if it was smaller, it will be enlarged; the aspect ratio remains the same (the image is not stretched). This is local to my client only (i.e. another Outlook 2007 client reading the same IMAP inbox will see the image in the correct size. Similarly, viewing the email message in a browser will display the correct size). This happens regardless of whether width/height attributes are set on the image tag in the HTML. Zoom is set to 100% in my message window; text and other elements are not distorted from the original. In addition to this, outgoing HTML messages with images embedded in the same way are resized as they are sent. The outgoing images are all scaled to have a width of 247px. The source HTML of the outgoing message is changed after pressing Send so that the tag's width attribute is 247 pixels and the image file itself is also resized. These problems only occur with HTML messages; Rich Text messages do not have the same problem. I have already tried reinstalling Outlook and have it fully patched up to date. Why is this happening and how can I stop this?

• WordPress: can't access WordPress.com and other external sites?

  Hello, I recently started a WordPress blog using hosting at MyDomain (they offer the application "natively"). The blog works fine, however I have two plugins I can't seem to install correctly. First, the WordPress.com Stats plugin requires the API Key. When I input it, I get the following message: Error from last API Key attempt: Your blog was unable to connect to WordPress.com. Please ask your host for help. (transport error - could not open socket: 110 Connection timed out) Second, the Akismet plugin is not configured. When I go to Akismet page to insert my API key, it has the following message: There was a problem connecting to the Akismet server. Please check your server configuration. I assume the two issues are related... I approached my hosting provider about the subject and all they said is that they don't support WordPress, only provide means to install it. To clarify, up to this point I have only been able to install plugins that don't require an API key. What can I do to diagnose the problem and fix it? As a work-around, are there comparable stats and anti-spam plugins that don't require an API key? Many thanks.

  Whenever I put my component into COM+ and call CoCreateInstance() on the client the following happens: the runtime instantiates the objecs (calls IClassFactory::CreateInstance()) the runtime calls QueryInterface() for the interface specified in teh CoCreateInstance() call the runtime calls QueryInterface() for IdentityUnmarshal interface ({0000001b-0000-0000-c000-000000000046}) The only thing I can find is the declaration in comdef.h that there exists IdentityUnmarshal interface with that interface id. Is there any more information on it?

• CVV Code For Authorize.com using osCommerce

  Hi I need to add a CVV code for verifying credit cards upon check out on my osCommerece shopping cart. I think this will involve a code for the authorize.net php and the checkout processing php but not sure. Found this great write up, but it is only for the authorize.net php and it doesn't create a filed for the CVV to be keyed. Also it throws an error with the 'echo validate.' Can't seem to find anything in any forums for osCommerce or any place out. Hoping someone here will have some knowledge. Thanks.

  Hello, I have a bit of a unique problem. for the domain (example.com) I want people to go to www.example.com however I'm also throwing GSLB into the mix. for GSLB the devices(one in each datacenter) need to be the nameserver for portion of the domain that they are going to answer for(www.example.com) so I know I can make the NS record of www.example.com just fine and have it point to each GSLB device. However that only helps for www.example.com NOT example.com. I don't want to make my root NS of example.com my GSLB as my enterprise managed DNS provider does an excellent job of all DNS stuff. any ideas?

• Outlook 2011 Contact Import from CSV with Notes containing new lines / cr / lf

  I'm trying to import several thousand contacts into Outlook 2011 for Mac. Everything is working well except the Notes field as I cannot figure out how to get new lines / carriage returns into it. There is no documentation for the exact format that Outlook supports. After searching the web and experimenting I have tried: Creating a single contact in Outlook with Notes containing several lines of text. I then export the contact to a csv, deleting the contact in Outlook, then re-import. All lines in Notes merge together :-/ Following tips I found such as containing new lines around quotes. e.g. http://creativyst.com/Doc/Articles/CSV/CSV01.htm (search for line-break) Switching the CSV format from DOS to Unix, experimenting using manually injected ctrl-characters such as ^M etc. I would include an example export/import but unfortunately the the new breaks included do not work well in a SU code block.

  When I try to start Outlook 2007, my system freezes, and Outlook says it is "synchonizing folders". I don't use exchange, and haven't seen any answers online. I've tried turning off the exchange integration (right clicking my folders) Since doing the latter, there is no longer an icon in the system tray when this is frozen (there was before) UPDATE: It seems my anti-virus program (comodo) was what was actually locking during Outlook file synch. I disabled that, and things seemed to settle down.

  Ok, I'm stuck using outlook in the office (but they let me use 2010 betas which are awsome, btw) and one thing I'll allways rant about outlook in any version is that when I press the X button it goes away. I mean, I know the X button is supposed to close the app, it's the standard and all that, but email is (sadly) very critical, as well as meeting requests and reminders, outlook should not be closed so freaking easily. I mean, Live Messenger is not so critical but it has this feature built in and on by default. Is there a way to close outlook to the tray, addons, vba, settings, reghack, anything? I know there is minimize to tray and I've been searching the web but could not find anything usefull.

• Sending Adobe PDF attachments from Adobe Reader (in Outlook 2003) takes too long

  I have a customer who is using Outlook 2003 (Microsoft Online Services) and Adobe reader 9+. When they send a PDF from Adobe reader to Outlook (via the Send as attachment to e-mail feature in Adobe), it freezes for 30 seconds to 5 minutes before the new e-mail pops up with the PDF attachment. I'm pretty sure the issue is on the Outlook side of things, as I've tried Adobe reader 8 and Foxit Reader with the same results (Windows XP/7 doesn't seem to make a difference, either). I tried Outlook in safe mode on the first (Win7) machine I was working on, and the e-mail attachment worked a lot faster, but when I tried to replicate the results on another machine, one wouldn't go into safe mode, the other didn't seem to show a difference. In an effort to fix the problem in Outlook normal mode, I tried disabling all add-ins, Com add-in (Office Communicator is the only one), reading pane, Word 2003 as e-mail editor... but none of these seemed to address the issue. Does anyone have any other ideas? I need to get this resolved as soon as possible, and it doesn't seem practical to make them run in safe mode. :P
