• Allow different headers on different servers using WFF

  We've got multiple web servers configured in a cluster using Microsoft's Web Farm Framework. One of the things I like to do to help debugging is to create a header in IIS that identifies the server that handled the request. Unfortunately when I try to do this, WFF sets the headers to the same value on all the servers. Is there a way around this? I tried looking into using skipDirectives, but I can't find any documentation on it (other than a little bit showing how to use it to skip directories and bindings). If there is documentation on this, please link to it! I would like to be able to read up more on it in case I need to do other things as well.

• Splitting an HTTP request into multiple byte-range requests

  I have arrived at the unusual situation of having two completely independent Internet connections to my home. This has the advantage of redundancy etc but the drawback that both connections max out at about 6Mb/s. So one individual outbound http request is directed by my "intelligent gateway" (TP-LINK ER6120) out over one or the other connection for its lifetime. This works fine over complex web pages and utilises both external connects fine. However, single-http-request downloads are limited to the maximum rate of one of the two connections. So I'm thinking, surely I can setup some kind of proxy server to direct all my http requests to. For each incoming http request, the proxy server will issue multiple byte-range requests for the desired data and manage the reassembly and delivery of that data to the client's request. I can see this has some overhead, and also some edge cases where there will be blocking problems waiting for data. I also imagine webmasters of single-servers would rather I didn't hit them with 8 byte-range requests instead of one request. How can I achieve this http request deconstruct/reconstruction? Or am I just barking mad?

• Adding expire headers to content served from CDN?

  I'm using MaxCDN to serve content to my blog using W3 Total Cache. The problem I'm running into when evaluating my site using Google Page Speed and YSlow! is that expire headers are not being sent on content delivered from the CDN, nor are they coming from a cookieless domain. Is this something that is completely in the hands of my CDN or is it something I can fix using my server configuration?   How do I cache the images properly, I think asked this somewhere before, but it hasn't affected me until gameing site went out of beta. It's HTTP headers or something isn't Ok I used George's answer but frankly the performance is awful, asking the server for the image everytime (even when it doesn't download the image) creates a small delay of about 1/2 a second but because of the huge number of SE sites, the 1/2s add up. Please, please consider adding a hash of the image to the stackauth.com/sites

  When using an HttpConnection in a BlackBerry app, you often get HTTP cookies in the response headers. Unfortunately there are no built-in APIs to assist with the parsing of the cookie headers. Has anyone found a third-party library to assist with the parsing of the cookie header(s) into a more useful data object? Creating some custom code that just parses out the name and value of the cookie isn't too difficult, but I'd like to also consider other fields within the cookie such as the expiration and domain fields.

  Hi I was wondering if it was possible in the configuration of Lighttpd to read request headers, I've searched and searched.. apparently it's not possible. For example, conditional configuration based upon IP address: $HTTP["remoteip"] == "0.0.0.0" { // Do something } Is there something similar to check headers, for example: $HTTP["X-Some-Header"] == "Value" { // Do something } I'm thinking there isn't but thought I would post here as a last resort. • Copy SQL 2005 view result column headers?

  Is there a way to copy View output column headers along with the data? There is a setting in Options to include column headers with query results, but that only works with "New Query" and Stored Procedure output. Looks like SSMS 2008 has this functionality built in to the contextual menu when you right click on results, but I only have 2005. Am I out of luck? Thanks for any help.

• Issuse with multiple student result printing request

  I'm not really sure about how to ask this question but i'll try my best to make it clear enough. I have a Student Result Application where by students result are managed, over several academic sessions, all having two semesters each. During each semester students take different courses and have results based on the semester. The application is done now and i'm using a PDF Libaray to crop the final result page to hand over to the students each semester. If a student request a particular semester result it's a straight forward issue and there are no complications when it comes to printing out the result. My issue is this: in a case where a student requests to have a combination of semesters...say 3rd year rain semester , 4th year rain semester and 5th year hamattarn semester. Please how can i handle this issue? Does the user picks these options at the user interface level or there's a special way to handle issues like this? Also, if i'm to display these multiple student result how could this be be done, knowing fully well that i'll have to print the different result seperately. • ASP/AJAX - How to get the time between an server request and response?

  Whenver Ajax requests new data from the server this can sometimes take a a second or two. Now I want to know, how can I get this time between the ajax request and the response it gets from the server? I need this because an ajax timer I'm running ain't perfectly doing his stuff.
