  I have a CSS stylesheet for a webpage. The webpage has a table with a background color of white (set in the rows, not the table). I would like to set the opacity or alpha to 50%. I have tried so many variations, but come up with no luck. A typical row in the HTML file is: <tr> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>Twitter</td> </tr> The CSS settings for table rows (which works perfectly) is: tr { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; background:rgb(255,255,255); } To get the alpha, I tried tr { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0.5); } I have also tried background-color-opacity: 0.5; Any other suggestions?

• "Fails to get size of gamma" error when trying to set resolution

  On 11.10 my max allowed resolution is 1024x768, while my monitor supports 1280x800 on windows. I've seen a method to solve this via xrandr, but I allways get a message saying it fails to get size of gamma. xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768 default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm 1024x768 61.0* 800x600 61.0 640x480 60.0 Is there any other way to add 1280x800 resolution to my laptop, any workarounds this? • Tiling Problem Solutions for Various Size "Dominoes"

  I've got an interesting tiling problem, I have a large square image (size 128k so 131072 squares) with dimensons 256x512... I want to fill this image with certain grain types (a 1x1 tile, a 1x2 strip, a 2x1 strip, and 2x2 square) and have no overlap, no holes, and no extension past the image boundary. Given some probability for each of these grain types, a list of the number required to be placed is generated for each. Obviously an iterative/brute force method doesn't work well here if we just randomly place the pieces, instead a certain algorithm is required. 1) all 2x2 square grains are randomly placed until exhaustion. 2) 1x2 and 2x1 grains are randomly placed alternatively until exhaustion 3) the remaining 1x1 tiles are placed to fill in all holes. It turns out this algorithm works pretty well for some cases and has no problem filling the entire image, however as you might guess, increasing the probability (and thus number) of 1x2 and 2x1 grains eventually causes the placement to stall (since there are too many holes created by the strips and not all them can be placed). My approach to this solution has been as follows: 1) Create a mini-image of size 8x8 or 16x16. 2) Fill this image randomly and following the algorithm specified above so that the desired probability of the entire image is realized in the mini-image. 3) Create N of these mini-images and then randomly successively place them in the large image. Unfortunately there are some downfalls to this simplification. 1) given the small size of the mini-images, nailing an exact probability for the entire image is not possible. Example if I want p(2x1)=P(1x2)=0.4, the mini image may only give 0.41 as the closes probability. 2) The mini-images create a pseudo boundary where no overlaps occur which isn't really descriptive of the model this is being used for. 3) There is only a fixed number of mini-images so i'm not sure how random this really is. I'm really just looking to brainstorm about possible solutions to this. My main concern is really to nail down closer probabilities, now one might suggest I just increase the mini-image size. Well I have, and it turns out that in certain cases(p(1x2)=p(2x1)=0.5) the mini-image 16x16 isn't even iteratively solvable.. So it's pretty obvious how difficult it is to randomly solve this for anything greater than 8x8 sizes.. So I'd love to hear some ideas. Thanks

  I'm using David Poll's CollectionPrinter and modifications by Fama to perform grouping. I'm using the control to print a datagrid with grouping and it works well if not a little slow. Problem: When the grid is displayed the first row of the grid is selected and the first cell of the row is also selected. I want to either deselect the row or change the datagrid template to make selected rows/cells appear as not selected. I tried to specify a grid template to change the row/cell selection appearance but when I added the default template I got a COM error of all things - anyway I concluded that what I was doing was not compatible with the SLab libraries, or perhaps because the grid was specified in a datatemplate. In any case I abandoned that approach. Since I have the SLab source if I understood it more there may be a way to deselect the row after from that side of things - but I know the SLaB CommectionPrinter does not rely on the data template to be a grid, so I'm not sure how to modify the code to accomplish what I want. Question: How can I prevent the row from being selected or deselect it once it is or change the appearance of the selectd row when using the CollectionPrinter with grouping? Note that the row selection problem may occur without grouping as well, I don;t know, but it definatly does with grouping.

• UITableView with Custom Cell only loads one row of data at a time

  For my table, I've created a custom cell that has two labels. I also have two arrays with data, that I use to respectively assign each label in the cell. My problem, is that when the table is viewed, only the first row has data, and the rest of the data "sorta" loads when I start scrolling down. By "sorta", only the first row will load at a time. The only time I get to see all the data, is when I scroll to the bottom, then scroll up again.   I am developing and tableView in which in each row I have to display the click counter and row number.Each cell must have an initial click counter value of 0 when application is initialized. Then increment the click counter value within a cell whenever a user clicks on the cell. I have take 26 fixed rows. I have taken tableData.plist file as in the attached image. • Excel VBA: select every other cell in a row range to be copied and pasted vertically

  i have a 2200+ page text file. It is delivered from a customer through a data exchange to us with astericks to separate values and tildes (~) to denote the end of a row. The file is sent to me as a text file in Word. Most rows are split in two (1 row covers a full line and part of a second line). i transfer segments (10 page chunks) of it at a time into Excel where, unfortunately, any zeroes that occur at the end of a row get discarded in the "text to columns" procedure. So, i eyeball every "long" row to insure that zeroes were not lost and manually re-enter any that were. Here is a small bit of sample data: SDQ EA 92 1551 378 1601 151 1603 157 1604 83 The "SDQ, EA, and 92" are irrelevant (artifacts of data transmission). i want to use Excel VBA to select 1551, 1601, 1603, and 1604 (these are store numbers) so that i can copy those values and transpose paste them vertically. i will then go back and copy 378, 151, 157, and 83 (sales values) so that i can transpose paste them next to the store numbers. The next two rows of data contain the same store numbers but give the corresponding dollar values. i will only need to copy the dollar values so they can be transpose pasted vertically next to unit values (e.g. 378, 151, 157, and 83). Just being able to put my cursor on the first cell of interest in the row and run a macro to copy every other cell would speed up my work tremendously. i have tried using activecell and offset references to select a range to copy but have not been successful. Does any have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance for the help.

  For every generation of Excel I can remember (including 2010, which I'm using now), Excel's "Auto Size Row" features sometimes fails to actually auto size a row when the cell contains wrapped text. When it works properly, all the text is revealed and there is no additional space below the last line of text. When it fails, it adds extra space below the text. To make matters worse, what you see is not always what you get, i.e., text that appeared okay on screen gets cut off when it's printed. You also get different sizing depending on whether you are zoomed in/out or at actual size. Simple test case: Why is there a one-line gap after the text in cell A1 but in A2? (I double-checked that I applied Auto Fit Row Height to both rows. Zoom level is 100%.) Is there any known remedy for this without resorting to manually adjusting the row heights (which is not practical for more than a handful of rows)?

  How do I make a whole row follow wherever I am in the Calc document when I scroll down/up? I'm looking for something that keeps a row from moving, or to make it stay put. This is so that when I want to see other rows, this one locked row will stay in place and allow me to refer back to it on screen without having to scroll all the way back up to the top of the document.   If I have an image with a table containing several rows, say like the periodic table: Are there any tool I can use to split this into one smaller image with the H He row, another image for the Li Be ... Ne row, etc? The tool does not have to detect the row borders by itself, specifying a start offset + row height in pixels is ok. Manually selecting and cutting/copying in gimp is not an option, I have way to many rows to process.

• Excel table auto update

  So I have a table in Excel with formulas. When I add a new row, the new row automatically fills in the formulas as well, which is great. My problem is that it also changes the formula in the row above the added row as well. Here's what happens specifically: My table's last row is row 24. A formula I have in that row is the following: =COUNTIF(C$11:C24,"y")/(COUNTIF(C$11:C24,"Y")+COUNTIF(C$11:C24,"N")) When I add in data in row 25 the formula is updated in row 25 as well, which is what I want, to the following: =COUNTIF(C$11:C25,"y")/(COUNTIF(C$11:C25,"Y")+COUNTIF(C$11:C25,"N")) My problem is that the row above also updates - my row 24 changes to the same as row 25 (the C24 goes to C25). Why is my row 24 formula changing when I add a row 25? Note, my formulas above row 24 stay the same when I add in row 25 - only row 24 changes when I add in 25. Is there a way to not update the row above the row being added? This problem continues when additional rows are added - If I add in a row 26, then the formula in rows 24-26 then all reference C26. Why are they all updating?
