  If I'm uploading via http, do I have to wait till the file is transferred to determine the size? Also, what other info is available that would be available on the local copy? Do Last Modified and Created get reset to the upload time or are they preserved?

  We have a standalone java swing app, in which the user can print something that he drew, on a printer by giving its IP. Now the requirement is that the app needs to remember the ip that was given the last time by this user. What I could think of till now is (a brute one though) - keep a log file kind of storage on the client machine, and that everytime the app comes up it reads the last submitted one. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  Typical strlen() traverse from first character till it finds \0. This requires you to traverse each and every character. In algorithm sense, its O(N). Is there any faster way to do this where input is vaguely defined. Like: length would be less than 50, or length would be around 200 characters. I thought of lookup blocks and all but didn't get any optimization.

  I am creating an interpreter for my esolang, and I need the user to enter some text which then will be interpreted as an INTERCAL program.
