• verisign certificate into jboss server SSL

  i'm trying to enable jboss to uses ssl protocol using a previously generated certificate from verisign, i imported both certificate, server certificate and ca certificate into the keytore file, and i configured the server.xml to use that keystore and activate ssl protocol, then when i run the jboss, I got this error "certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled" Question, reading some post on internet, i found that every example was made it generating a Certificate Request, it stricly necesary to do that if i already have the server certificate and that CSR has to be imported into the keystore as well ? at this point i'm very confused about this issue, i tried almost every solutions posted in several forums but till now i haven't any luck !! can you give me some tips in order to solve this problem. thanks in advance this are my keystore file: Keystore type: jks Keystore provider: SUN Your keystore contains 2 entries j2ee, Dec 29, 2009, trustedCertEntry, Certificate fingerprint (MD5): 69:CC:2D:2A:2D:EF:C4:DB:A2:26:35:57:06:29:7D:4C ugent, Dec 29, 2009, trustedCertEntry, Certificate fingerprint (MD5): AC:D8:0E:A2:7B:B7:2C:E7:00:DC:22:72:4A:5F:1E:92 and my server.xml configuration:

• Cant install windows 7(boot problem)

  First of all, I cant boot my windows 7. I get a black screen with a cursor up in the left corner. So, I tried using windows 7 installation which I've put on my flash drive. To boot from the drive, I've changed the boot order to boot from the drive first. It boots but does not find any HDD to install the windows on(which is pretty logic, I dont boot the HDD soon enough for the installer). but if i put the HDD in front of the flash drive in the boot order, it will just try to load windows 7 and i will get the black screen again. I've tried putting the HDD first and clicking f8 a lot. All I've got is an error. Something about some software change. I dunno. Help me please, cant do anything with my laptop till then.

  how can i install the bluetooth driver in this laptop in windows 7. The installation process tells me that i need to activate the bluetooth device to continue, but how can i activate if till that moment the device doesn't exist. There isn't any button or switch to activate the device manually. Edited: it's the np-r430 model. I read somewhere (a users forum, not official info) that for Chile and Argentina this models doesn't have built in the bluetooth device, but the US models have it.   I need to plan a downtime for a maintenance of my environment (or some part of my environment) by means of Sun Grid Engine. Is it possible to somehow use backfilling information to tell the grid engine to plan only those jobs on cluster which are able to finish (i have backfilling information) till let's say 10 am next day? Can I then at 10 am rely on the fact that all compute nodes are clean, jobs are only queued, no job is planned and so that I can start maintenance? Thank you for your time. mousee

  Suppose, I enter a URL in my browser and browser submits the HTTP request. The remote HTTP server accepts the request and initiates a long task to serve the request. If I terminate the request before it is complete (for example, press Esc or in Firefox), how is the request closed? Will the browser communicate this abort request to the server (I think it doesn't)? Presuming no, upon completion of the long task, what will the server do with the result? Does it send it back anyway? If it does, what will happen? Does it reach till my PC? Or gets lost on the way?   I want to run some test on hardware level. My goal is to create or find a way to control one computer from another down to BIOS settings changing. For example: Master computer sends a signal for slave to restart and opens BIOS settings dialog. Master computer sends a signal to slave to change BIOS parameters and then restart. Then slave fully boots up master starts up some software on slave. Then software finishes operations cycle continues till certain conditions are met. I know that I am looking for a complex thing but mainly what I need are correct keywords because now I am being flooded by BIOS configurations tutorials. Main concerns: Is it possible without using any custom tailer chip? How can master monitor salve`s hardware activity? How to let master handled more than one slave? • X11 forwarding from one server to other

  I have a setup where I need to forward X11 from my local machine (laptop) to a Virtual machine. The server hosting this VM cannot be reached directly from my laptop. I need to first login to a gateway and from this gateway, I can access the VM. How can I forward X11 from my laptop to this VM? I have tried following but these do not work: [laptop # ] ssh -X [gateway] [gateway # ] ssh -X [VM] [laptop # ] ssh -tX [gateway] ssh -X [VM] I could forward X11 only till the gateway. • What does "every two minutes" mean in cron?

  I've got two scripts in cron set to run every two minutes: */2 -- the thing is, they're out of step. One runs at 1,3,5,7,9 minutes, etc. and the other at 0,2,4,6,8. This is not a mission-critical problem, but means I've got two status reports, one a bit stale compared to the other. What does cron do exactly? Run the first one in crontab document order, waiting till it's finished to run the second one? Is there any way I can make the run at the same time, or as close as possible?

• Setup a automatic server reboot on when a particular service fails

  I am running linux based server (centos 6.0) with cpanle and WHM, I have critical website running with a chat server which uses a openfire as the chat server backend server, i have monitored last few weeks this service crashes quite often, i have no way of knowing that, and i have to wait till the next day to restart the server. (and this can only be fixed by using server reboot as its got to do with some java memory problem) is there a way i can setup a monitoring service to the server and if this service goes down server itself will reboot ? is this something possible or is there a better way to overcome this problem ?

• No longer able to run photo software on XP

  I have Olympus Master 2 and Photoimpression 6 on my system which is running with XP Pro. Both programmes ran fine till recently and neither now works. I have run Avira and AVG anti virus (only one loaded at a time), Superantispyware, Spybot and Malwarebytes and removed the usual dross but no help. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled both several times but again no help. Both programmes load but the Olympus one immediately passes to the usual 'its met a problem and needs to close'...Photoimpression loads fully but as soon as I go to the edit screen it gives the same message. I have tried another profile to no avail. Any idea why this is and what the solution is??

• Weird symbols on Mac

  Since I've had my mac, I keep seeing this weird symbol. Till today, it had been only in the place of bullet points in OpenOffice.org. The first pictures shows this in a .doc file created on a Windows system. I thought nothing of it - just an annoyance. It appears no matter what the font. Real bullets appear if I delete the text and insert a bulletted list using the toolbar. Then, today I noticed in in iTunes - which seemed strange. Image 3 is a zoom of the character. It says on it: Private Use E000 F8FF. What is it (unicode related?), and how do I get the bullets working properly? Edit: The plot thickens... If I boot in Safe Mode, the symbols look like little snap boards like you'd have at the beginning of filming a scene in a film...

  I have about 70 pc's with exactly same hardware. I decided to automate turning on and off. I took 1 PC. Here is what I've done: Changed bios configuration so that now pc's waking when I turn on AC switch Installed Windows XP and configured so that I can turn off remotelly, changed workgroup name to "WG1", and pc name to "ExamPC" Then created acronis backup image of this pc I installed this image in several PC's and tried to test All worked well till windows opened. The problem is, all tested PC's started Windows nearly at the same time, and all of them popped up error Duplicate name exist. I can't figure out any solution. Any suggestions?

  I am looking for a FREEWARE which combine multiple setup to one setup file so that when i install one setup file. it'll install all the setup file one by one. && no need to watch over it, till it install each & every programs inside it. Basically the purpose is whenever the OS is reinstalled, every time have to install each programs one by one & have to sit there until all are finished installed. What I want to do is have the calling script finish and exit while the screen session stays active. I've tried daemonising the screen -x lines and adding an & to the end of the screen -x lines neither of which work properly. Ideas?

  i have one windows 2008 server & windows xp clients. one HP2600n is connected to network with network cable, and installed in server and shared. also same printer is shared on xp cleints. the problem is: once cleints send print it come to the server que and stuck there untill we manually restart printer spooler service. once we restart the service all the prints in QUE prints and after that new prints again stuck in QUE till next manually restart. how can we solve this problem?   Can anyone advise how best to run the following strategy, or even if it is possible/sensible strategy? I am looking to backup an SBS server using BE2012 where the data is backed up on a weekly full backup, with subsequent daily incrementals till the end of the week, a fresh full backup will then be taken the next weekend, and the cycle repeats for 4 weeks, thus 4 full backups with incrementals. This months worth of backups will then be moved off to an offsite store via USB drive for safe keeping. Is this viable, sensible, or am i just a bit crazy? All ideas are welcome.

  I'm looking through google webmaster that my page is generating soft 404 errors (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/181708?hl=en) google says: We recommend that you always return a 404 (Not found) or a 410 (Gone) response code in response to a request for a non-existing page But I've got redirects set up that handle old pages to redirect to the proper new pages using a 301. The website links changed because of a use of a framework, which allows it to be more consistent, but the old pages till have links out there to these. Should I be worried about this? IS google penalizing the site for this? (Using IIS 8, Tomcat, CF10, Win)

• OS X: How to create a user account with access to the applications that she has installed only.

  Till now, I've been the sole and proud owner of an iMac. I've always logged in as an administrator and I've also installed a bunch of software following the standard procedure of dragging and dropping it into the Applications folder. This is about to change, as sharing it with a friend makes a lot of sense now that I only have time to use the computer in the mornings, and she can only use it at nights. I thought this was going to be really easy: Just create a user account for her and that's all, I thought. Unfortunately, this is not the case. When she logins into the computer using her username and password, she has access to the same applications I've installed. Even the same applications that I setup to automatically start when I login start for her when she does. How can I setup a user that has only access to the applications that she has installed, but none of the ones installed by other users? Many thanks

• Sending a large number of mails causing problems on CentOS 6 / Plesk 10

  I have a VPS running CentOS 6. When the system tries to send daily newsletter, after some time (e.g. after sending about 2000 emails), I get error "Unable to send mail" and the system memory goes really high. Till this moment, the mails are delivered normally. The rest symptoms are: I cannot see anything on /var/log/maillog (File seems not to be written) All files on /var/spool/mail have 0 bytes size. From time to time on httpd log I get errors like: /usr/sbin/sendmail: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: Error 23 "Activate mail service on domain" setting in Plesk is deactivated. Any idea on what's going wrong here?

  I have a wireless internet connection through BSNL. I have a windows 7 ultimate, and using latest Google chrome. During night time ie from 12:30 am onwards till around 5:30 am, I have the following problem: Only the following webpages load: Google Search Google images and all related to google product pages like you see them on the google home page. Blogspot webpages as supported through Google. Any other site loading gets stuck with the status message:- Waiting for www.thaturl.com .... And it goes on and on. Why does this happen? I checked around googling for this but no solution at all. By the way I tried changing my dns addresses too sometimes from automatically to opendns and then Google public dns. I need some solution which might help me to load other websites also. Thanks in advance.

So when I planned to upgrade I found that in the website of dell they have not updated the drivers for windows 8. I had installed a preview version of windows 8 and installed the drivers of windows 7 so it got installed and is working fine. So shall I upgrade it to windows 8 and use windows 7 drivers???? or wait till the drivers are updated??????

• How can I restrict my mates to stop downloading?

  We are sharing an internet broadband connection with 6 users at a place we live. We get 20 gb fup ( Fair usage policy) with 2 mbps speed from the ISP after the 20 gb is consumed the speed comes down to 512 kbps very difficult to browse any page. The problem is we cannot track which user/mate is downloading and ending the FUP. it is very difficult to track so is there something that we can allot per user some amount of space like 2 gb of downloading or restrict all from downloading so that we can utilize all the fup till the end of the month. We are using this connection as wifi configured. A adsl router is configured as wifi and we all using all 6 laptops. No PC. Any help would be appreciated. I apologize if i am not clear with my question.

• Do you think Microsoft is finally on the right track with its Windows 7?

  It has been a while now since Windows 7 has been released. So far I didn't hear of many major complaints about it. I can remember the time that Windows Vista hist the shelves. There were major complaints from both experts and just regular users. I do a lot of OS installs for just regular users. These are mostly family and friends, and sometimes there are some customers. Up till now I mostly still use Windows XP SP3, because it is stable and most people are familiar with it. I did Vista for some users but they always call me back with all sorts of questions and in the end I had to downgrade them to XP. Do you think it is safe now to recommend Windows 7 as a good operating system? Offcourse their hardware has to support it, but let's say that is the case. If you install Windows 7 a lot for people, what are the complaints about if you get them?

• Acrobat Reader, and indeed all Adobe products are freezing and crashing on print

  Everything was working fine, right up till I had to do some driver work to get my scanner to work - now I can't seem to print from any Adobe product. I click print and the program freezes, it stops responding, and in the case of Acrobat Reader, it crashes. In the case of In-design CS4, I have to stop the process in task manager, in the case of Fireworks CS3 - I think it just crashes. Printing a PDF hangs and crashes inside of Firefox and IE browsers too. My printer works and I can print from MS Word, Excel and directly by right clicking on a non-Adobe file and choosing print. But when I try it in an Adobe product. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, my version of Adobe Reader is: 10.1.11, Windows is updated, and I don't have any unusual extensions.
