  • JSON.parse string with quotes

    - by mjsilva
Hi, I've this: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); http://www.jsonlint.com/ says it's perfectly valid json. But on execution I have a JSON.parse error. But, if I change my code to: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); (note the double backslash) It works, but now jsonlint gives me invalid json :/ Can someone help to understand this behavior?

  • Casting from IEnumerable<Object> to IEnumerable<string>

    - by Praveen
Hi All, Recently I found a very surprising behavior in c#. I had a method which takes IEnumerable<Object> as a parameter and i was passing IEnumerable<string> but it's not possible. While in c# everything can be upcast to Object than why this is not possible? It's totally confusing for me. Please someone clear me on this issue.

  • Silverlight Faults

    - by Bram
I;m trying to get WCF Silverlight faults working as per this : MSDN aricle After adding the SL fault to my Web.config file I get the following warning: The element 'behavior' has invalid child element 'silverlightFaults'. List of possible elements expected: 'serviceAuthorization, serviceCredentials, serviceMetadata, serviceSecurityAudit, serviceThrottling, dataContractSerializer, serviceDebug, serviceTimeouts, persistenceProvider, workflowRuntime'. Ignoring the warning doesn't work and my Silverlight application cannot add the WCF service. Any ideas?

  • Ruby on Rails: models that do not have a table

    - by randombits
What's the best way to create a model in Ruby on Rails that doesn't have an underlying implementation in as far as a database table goes? It's very common to write classes that perform behavior on a particular problem domain, yet can use some of the benefits that ActiveRecord has such as validation. Is it best to just create it as a module or helper? What is the best practice here?

  • Fmylife javascript copy-paste into link

    - by davezor
Fmylife.com has a nifty feature that when you copy the text from a post, it actually copies a LINK (html) so that when you paste it into your email/facebook/instant messenger/twitter/whatever it automatically will link to the post, giving them more traffic and more page views and more ad revenue, etc. I looked into their javascript files but can't seem to find how they do it. How would one go about copying this behavior?

  • Failed to load viewstate

    - by Jen
OK have just started getting this error and I'm not sure why. I have a hosting page which has listview and a panel with a usercontrol. The listview loads up records with a linkbutton. You click the link button to edit that particular record - which gets loaded up in the formview (within the usercontrol) which goes to edit mode. After an update occurs in the formview I'm triggering an event which my hosting page is listening for. The hosting page then rebinds the listview to show the updated data. So this all works - but when I then go to click on a different linkbutton I get the below error: Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; InfoPath.3) Timestamp: Fri, 18 Jun 2010 03:15:54 UTC Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-back must match the type and position of the controls added during the initial request. Line: 4723 Char: 21 Code: 0 URI: http://localhost:1951/AdminWebSite/ScriptResource.axd?d=yfdLw4zYs0bqYqs1arL-htap1ceeKCyW1EXhrhMZy_AqJ36FUpx8b2pzMKL6V7ebYsgJDVm_sZ_ykV1hNtFqgYcJCLLtardHm9-yyA7zC4k1&t=ffffffffec2d9970 Any suggestions as to what is actually wrong?? My event listener does this: protected void RatesEditDate1_EditDateRateUpdated() { if (IsDateRangeValid(txtDisplayFrom, txtDisplayTo)) { PropertyAccommodationRates1.DataBind(); } else { pnlViewAccommodationRates.Visible = false; } divEditRate.Visible = false; } When I click my link button - it should be hitting this but the second time round it errors before hitting the breakpoint: protected void RatesEditDate1_EditDateRateSelected(DateTime theDateTime) { // make sure everything else is invisible pnlAddAccommodation.Visible = false; pnlViewEditAccommodations.Visible = false; RatesEditDate1.TheDateTime = theDateTime; RatesEditDate1.PropertyID = (int)Master.PropertyId; if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(Accommodations1.SelectedValue)) { RatesEditDate1.AccommodationTypeID = Convert.ToInt32(Accommodations1.SelectedValue); } else { RatesEditDate1.AccommodationTypeID = 0; } divEditRate.Visible = true; } So my listview appears to be being rebound successfully - I can see my changed data.. I just don't know why its complaining about viewstate when I click on the linkbutton. Or is there a better way to update the data in my listview? My listview and formview are bound to objectdata sources (in case that matters) Thanks for the help!

  • Delete Nodes + attributes that match Xpath except specific attributes

    - by Ryan Ternier
I'm trying to find the best (efficient) way of doing this. I have a medium sized XML document. Depending on specific settings certain portions of it need to be filtered out for security reasons. I'll be doing this in XSLT as it's configurable and no code should need changing. I've looked around, but not getting much luck on it. For example: I have the following XPath: //*[@root='2.16.840.1.113883.3.51.1.1.6.1'] Whicrooth gives me all nodes with a root attribute equal to a specific OID. In these nodes I want to have all attributes except for a few (ex. foo and bar) erased, and then having another attribute added (ex. reason) I also need to have multiple XPath expressions that can be ran to zero down on a specific node and clear it's contents out in a similar fashion, with respect to nodes with specific attributes. I'm playing around with information from: XPath expression to select all XML child nodes except a specific list? and XSLT Remove Elements and/or Attributes by Name per XSL Parameters Will update shortly when I can have access what what I"ve done so far. Example: XML Before Transformation <root> <childNode> <innerChild root="2.16.840.1.113883.3.51.1.1.6.1" a="b" b="c" type="innerChildness"/> <innerChildSibling/> </childNode> <animals> <cat> <name>bob</name> </cat> </animals> <tree/> <water root="2.16.840.1.113883.3.51.1.1.6.1" z="zed" l="ell" type="liquidLIke"/> </root> After <root> <childNode> <innerChild root="2.16.840.1.113883.3.51.1.1.6.1" flavor="MSK"/> <!-- filtered --> <innerChildSibling/> </childNode> <animals> <cat flavor="MSK" /> <!-- cat was filtered --> </animals> <tree/> <water root="2.16.840.1.113883.3.51.1.1.6.1" flavor="MSK"/> <!-- filtered --> </root>

  • UITabBar without labels (like Tweetie 2/Twitter for iPhone)

    - by John Biesnecker
I'd like to build an app with a tabbar in the style of Tweetie 2/Twitter for iPhone (that is, images with no labels). I can't see a way to do it with normal UITabBarController/UITabBar, and my current thinking is that it's actually a UIToolbar with a custom view controller that is pushing and popping views from an array to simulate the UITabBarController's default behavior. Is this the approach that you all would recommend, or is there something more elegant that I'm overlooking?

  • SugarCRM - how to customize user management tools?

    - by John
I'm new to using SugarCRM. I want to have a users page that does the following: 1) allow a user to create sub-users, and each sub-user can then create additional sub users 2) display users in an expandable and collapse-able hierarchical tree structure. 3) add more attributes to each user Does anyone know how to do this? Or if they can recommend tutorials/resources for me to study?

  • WCF - Multiple schema HTTP and HTTPS in the same service

    - by Ender
    I am trying to set up WCF service in production. The service has two bindings with two different interfaces. One endpoint (basicHttpBinding) is set up at HTTP and the other endpoint (wsHttpBinding) is set up securely over SSL. I can't get this scenario to work. Everything works with no problem if both endpoints are set up over HTTP. Before I even get into the specifics of errors I get, is is possible to run secure and insecure endpoint over the same service ? Here is a brief description of my configuration: <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="MyServiceBehavior"> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" httpsGetEnabled="true" /> <serviceCredentials> <serviceCertificate findValue="123312123123123123123399451b178" storeLocation="LocalMachine" storeName="My" x509FindType="FindByThumbprint" /> <issuedTokenAuthentication allowUntrustedRsaIssuers="true"/> </serviceCredentials> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="basicHttpBinding" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> <wsHttpBinding> <binding name="wsHttpBinding" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential"> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" establishSecurityContext="False"/> </security> </binding> </wsHttpBinding> </bindings> <services> <service behaviorConfiguration="MyServiceBehavior" name="MyService"> <endpoint binding="wsHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="wsHttpBinding" contract="IMyService1"> </endpoint> <endpoint address="mms" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="basicHttpBinding" contract="IMyService2"> </endpoint> <endpoint address="mex" listenUri="" binding="mexHttpBinding" contract="IMetadataExchange" /> </service> </services> Thanks !

  • Silverlight DataPager localization

    - by gius
Is it possible to localize DataPager's footer (Page X of Y) in Silvelright? The strings seem to be located in resources embedded in the assembly of DataPager. So how should I localize it? Unfortunately, almost nothing in the DataPager class is virtual and also many internal classes are used by it, so it is not possible (at least easily) to inherit DataPager and override the behavior.

  • WPF ControlTemplate vs UserControl

    - by PaN1C_Showt1Me
Hi. I've recently made an UserControl, which took quite a long time, because I had to work with custom Dependency Properties and so on... Anyways, it was just a bunch of 3 controls: TextBox, Popup with Hierarchical Tree. Now I realized I could probably write a ControlTemplate only. Hence what is the benefit of using UserControl?

  • change the url background color (when get tapped) from gray to others

    - by tom
It could be a HTML question as well... I have a UIWebView with a page (from the hand made html string) loaded. For the url link on the page, if you tap on it, it has gray as background, which I think is the default behavior on iPhone. Is there a way to programmingly (thru javascript) change that to be other colors, say, blue? It doesn't seem to work for me anyhow.

  • do I use document.activeElement to detect focus changes?

    - by jedierikb
After looking at the answers here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/497094/how-do-i-find-out-which-javascript-element-has-focus http://stackoverflow.com/questions/483741/how-to-determine-which-html-page-element-has-focus I can see that using document.activeElement is a great way to know which element has focus. But how do I use document.activeElement to detect changes to focus (or maybe I don't and I need to research a better way. Want to know if I am barking up the wrong tree).

Is there a way to implement this functionality? Thanks in advance. Regards Luis

  • MSBuild's XmlMassUpdate task in NAnt?

    - by veljkoz
I have created an MSBuild tasks for building my projects, but for various reasons I wan't to switch to NAnt. Is there some task that would be equivalent to MSBuild's XmlMassUpdate in NAnt? If possible I would like to use the same xml replacement file I used with XmlMassUpdate. (for more info about XmlMassUpdate, here's a short usage I found on stackoverflow's site: MSBuild example) I tried with xmlPeek/xmlPoke tasks but couldn't get them to iterate a tree paths in a replacement file...

  • PopulateOnDemand does not work on data bound ASP.Net TreeView

    - by Shay Friedman
Hi, I have a TreeView that is bound to a XmlDataSource control. I've added some TreeNodeBinding elements to define how I want the XML data to be shown. I have also added PopulateOnDemand=true to these TreeNodeBindings. However, doing so didn't change a thing and the entire XML tree is displayed. Moreover, the TreeNodePopulate event is not fired on node expand as well. Important information: I'm using ASP.NET 4. This is an example that reproduces the problem (very straight forward): <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" %> <script type="text/C#" runat="server"> protected void TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate(Object sender, TreeNodeEventArgs e) { // This method is never called... } </script> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:TreeView ID="TreeView1" runat="server" DataSourceID="XmlDataSource1" OnTreeNodePopulate="TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate" ExpandDepth="0"> <DataBindings> <asp:TreeNodeBinding DataMember="#" TextField="#" ValueField="#" PopulateOnDemand="true" /> </DataBindings> </asp:TreeView> <asp:XmlDataSource ID="XmlDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile="Sample.xml" /> </div> </form> </body> </html> The Sample.xml can be any xml file you want, it doesn't really matter. I tried to put a breakpoint within the TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate method and it was never hit. I also tried to: Set a TreeNodeBinding for each possible data member with PopulateOnDemand="true". Via code, go through all tree nodes and set their PopulateOnDemand property to true. Nothing worked. The only way the populate-on-demand thing worked was when I added nodes manually to the nodes instead of binding it to a data source. What am I doing wrong?

  • How does this ajax call persist DOM changes in the browser cache?

    - by Greg
For the purpose of the question I need to create a simple fictitious scenario. I have the following trivial page with one link, call it page A: <a class="red-anchor" onclick="change_color(event);" href="http://mysite.com/b/">B</a> With the associated Javascript function: function change_color(e) { var event = e || window.event; var link = event.target; link.className = "green-anchor"; } And I have the appropriate CSS to make the anchor red or green based on the classname. This is working. That is, when I click the anchor it changes color from red to green, which is briefly visible before the browser loads page B. But if I then use the BACK button to return to page A I get different behavior in different browsers. In Safari, the anchor is still green (desired behavior) In Firefox it reverts to red I imagine that Safari is somehow updating its cached version of the page, whereas Firefox isn't. So my first question is: is there any way to get FF to update the cached page, or is something else happening here? Secondly: I have a different implementation where I use an ajax call. In this I set the class of the anchor using a session variable, something like... <a class="<?php echo $_SESSION["color"]; ?>" ...[snip]... >B</a> And the javascript function makes an additional ajax call that changes the "color" session variable. In this case both Safari and Firefox work as expected. When going back from B to A the color is still green. But I can't for the life of me figure out why it should be different to the non-ajax case. I have tried many different permutations and for it to work on FF the "color" session variable MUST change (i.e. the ajax call itself is not somehow reloading the cache). But on coming BACK, the page is being reloaded from the cache (verified in Firebug), so how is the page even accessing this session variable if it isn't reprocessing the page and running that fragment of php in the anchor? I figure there must be something fundamental here that I am not understanding. Any insight would be much appreciated.

  • Bazaar newbie question about repository structures

    - by esc1729
I want to use Bazaar on Windows XP for web-development and related tasks. Most of the files are edited locally and then transferred via FTP to the server. Just now the repository sits on my local workstation. Later on it should be shared locally with some co-workers. Perhaps we will use a local Linux server as a centralized repository, but this structure is not decided for now. But first I need to understand the impacts of the different repository setups, which I do not at all. Using Bazaar-Explorer on Windows XP I’ve created a ‘shared tree repository’ from the option list of the init-dialogue in some location dev-filter/. Bazaar Explorer tells me: Created repository with treeless branches at F:/bzr.local/dev-filter Created branch at F:/bzr.local/dev-filter/trunk Created working tree at F:/bzr.local/dev-filter/work OK so far. Now I move a bunch of files into the work directory and add and commit them as Rev 1 ‘Start Revision’. Then I work on some of these files and commit them again as Rev 2. Here my confusion starts. Shouldn’t both revisions go into the trunk? The trunk is still empty, beside the .bzr directory which only holds some management information. If I delete my working directory, which I have tried during these first experiments, everything is gone. There’s obviously no hidden storage of those files. OK. Perhaps I need to push it into the trunk? This does not work either. Entering the work/ directory and initializing the ‘push’ to the trunk, Bazaar-Explorer tells me No new revisions to push. So what? This looks like a severe conceptual misunderstanding about what should happen on my side. Edit, 2010-02-03: Some conclusions What I learned meanwhile is this: I think I should switch to the command line until I really understand what’s going on, at least for creating the repositories and branches. Bazaar Explorer introduces a new level of abstraction which I only can handle if I understand the level beneath One of the secrets of working with Bazaar at least for me is to understand those .bzr directories, their particular properties and states when created with ‘bzr init’, ‘bzr init-repository’, ‘bzr branch’ etc. in all their variants and how they are plumped together. While there’s a whole chapter of ‘Organizing your workspace’ in the Bazaar User Guide, it’s more or less workflow oriented. The manual contains a lot of directory structures for the given examples. What I would prefer beside this and have not (or only rudimentary) found so far is some graphical representation of those ‘Lego like’ .bzr building blocks which create the linking of all the parts. So I started to invent some simple notation while working through the examples and looking into the .bzr directories to document what information is stored there, where does it come from, how and to what is it linked, is it complete or shared, etc. Erich Schreiber

  • WCF MaxReceivedMessageSize property not taking

    - by Steve Syfuhs
    Searched with no luck... I keep getting The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. It makes sense, so I go into both Server and client config and make the change: Client <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" closeTimeout="00:01:00" openTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:01:00" transferMode="Streamed" messageEncoding="Text" maxBufferSize="65536" maxReceivedMessageSize="67108864"> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="http://localhost/services/FileUpload.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" contract="CFTW.FileUpload.IFileUpload" name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> Server <system.serviceModel> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name=""> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true" /> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="false" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" transferMode="Streamed" messageEncoding="Text" maxBufferSize="67108864" maxBufferPoolSize="67108864" maxReceivedMessageSize="67108864"> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <services> <service name="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload"> <endpoint address="~/services/FileUpload.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_IFileUpload" contract="CFTW.FileUpload.IFileUpload"></endpoint> </service> </services> <serviceHostingEnvironment multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" /> </system.serviceModel> I'm not sure why it's not working (otherwise I'd fix it:)). It's running on .NET 4.0 RC.

  • WCF Duplex net.tcp issues on win7

    - by Tom
We have a WCF service with multiple clients to schedule operations amongst clients. It worked great on XP. Moving to win7, I can only connect a client to the server on the same machine. At this point, I'm thinking it's something to do with IPv6, but I'm stumped as to how to proceed. Client trying to connect to a remote server gives the following exception: System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect to net.tcp://10.7.11.14:18297/zetec/Service/SchedulerService/Scheduler. Tried disabling windows firewall. I tried changing localhost to my ipv4 address to try to keep away from ipv6, I've tried removing any anti-ipv6 code.
