    Wondering why a particular binary write operation in VB is so slow. The function reads a Byte array from memory and dumps it into a file like this: Open Destination For Binary Access Write As #1 Dim startP, endP As Long startP = BinaryStart endP = UBound(ReadBuf) - 1 Dim i as Integer For i = startP To endP DoEvents Put #1, (i - BinaryStart) + 1, ReadBuf(i) Next Close #1 For two megabytes on a slower system, this can take up to a minute. Can anyone tell me why this is so slow?

When grid is rendered it loads very first page on the screen and then there are number of pages in the grid header. I scrap first page, and now i want to move on to the next page. I used it but it did not work on this page. the trick is, you can pass __EVENTTARGET and __EVENTARGUMENT in query string to navigate through the gird but it does not work on this website. I am desperately searching a way, how to cope with this website. i really want this done. i do not want any code but a way to nevigate throgh the grid using query string if it does work. Otherwise please be specific to the problem.

  • Wake up thread blocked on accept() call

    Sockets on Linux question I have a worker thread that is blocked on an accept() call. It simply waits for an incoming network connection, handles it, and then returns to listening for the next connection. When it is time for the program to exit, how do I signal this network worker thread (from the main thread) to return from the accept() call while still being able to gracefully exit its loop and handle it's cleanup code. Some things I tried: 1. pthread_kill to send a signal. Feels kludgy to do this, plus it doesn't reliably allow the thread to do it's shutdown logic. Also makes the program terminate as well. I'd like to avoid signals if at all possible. pthread_cancel. Same as above. It's a harsh kill on the thread. That, and the thread may be doing something else. Closing the listen socket from the main thread in order to make accept() abort. This doesn't reliably work. Some constraints: If the solution involves making the listen socket non-blocking, that is fine. But I don't want to accept a solution that involves the thread waking up via a select call every few seconds to check the exit condition. The thread condition to exit may not be tied to the process exiting.   • Custom QAction/QMenu for mouse button detection

    I'm trying to create a popup menu, where I can detect the mouse button that was pressed for a given item. I've created a custom QAction already to build my QMenu, but the triggered signal when the menu item is pressed doesn't provide a QMouseEvent for me to query the button pressed. Also, I'm setting the a status tip for each QAction, which appears in the status bar when I mouse over it, but it stays even after I close the QMenu. Is this normal behavior?

  • I can I separate multiple logical pages in a text file I create in Perl?

    So far, I've been successful with generating output to individual files by opening a file for output as part of outer loop and closing it after all output is written. I had used a counting variable ($x) and appended .txt onto it to create a filename, and had written it to the same directory as my perl script. I want to step the code up a bit, prompt for a file name from the user, open that file once and only once, and write my output one "printed letter" per page. Is this possible in plain text? From what I understand, chr(12) is an ascii line feed character and will get me close to what I want, but is there a better way?     I was wondering if there is an implementation in R where it sorts a permutation of n numbers into the original 1...n sequence and provides the number of reversals needed. Eg an implementation of the "sorting by reversals" or "sorting by translocation" as outlined in this ppt. Specifically, I have a permutation of a sequence of n elements, pi(n), and I want to figure out how close it is to the original sequence. The number of reversals seems a good metric. Thanks!

    I have a wall application using WebRTC DataChannels. In the code I've managed to work out the connection, but I'm not getting notified when a peer disconnects. On the channels I have the following listeners: channels[uid].onerror = function( event ) { console.log( 'channels[uid].onerror', uid, arguments ) removePeer( uid ) } channels[uid].onclose = function() { console.log( 'channels[uid].onclose', uid, arguments ) removePeer( uid ) } When I reload tabs disconnecting peers, I don't get close messages. When I send to them, I don't get an error.
