• Conflict between Change Control and ASL Mapping

  Yesterday I got one strange report that on Agile 9.3.1.2, adding a Supplier into Item's Supplier tab will always remove all the data from Item.PageTwo.MultiList01 field which is assigned to a User Group list. The detailed problem description is like below. In JavaClient, MultiList01 attribute on Parts class's PageTwo tab is enabled and assigned with User Group list. On WebClient, user created a new Part and assign MultiList01 with two UserGroups: "Global User Group Test1" and "Personal Group_Test1". Then go to Suppliers tab to add three Suppliers. Switch back to Part's TitleBlock, will see MultiList01 loses the User Group data. To confirm if MultiList01 really loses the data or it saves with other wrong data, I need to check the database and find strange data that MultiList01 saves wrong data ",7976911,7976907,7976959,", which are exactly the ID of these three Suppliers. Then I can suspect the Supplier attribute on Suppliers tab must be mapped to MultiList01. However when I check Supplier in JavaClient, the "ASL mapped to" is blank. More interesting thing is the database clearly shows Supplier attribute (Base ID =2000004219) is mapped to 2090, which is PageTwo.MultiList01 Base ID. Till now, we can get a conclusion that Supplier data is really mapped to MultiList01, though we assign MultiList01 to User Group list and Supplier does not set "ASL mapped to". It must be another function which overrides "ASL mapped to" visibility in JavaClient with high priority. That is the "Change Controlled" function. We immediately see "ASL mapped to" with value "MultiList01" when we disable Change Controlled for Multilist01 If one attribute is Change Controlled, Supplier data cannot be mapped to this attribute theoretically because Supplier could be dynamically modified by users, not by Changes. In real situation of Agile 9.3.1.2, it could be a Code Defect. We can imagine the scenario customer met. He setup Parts.PageTwo.Multilist01 assigned with Supplier list, then in Parts.Suppliers.Supplier attribute, he set "ASL mapped to" to "Multilist01". Later company business is changed, so he set Multilist01 with Change Controlled and re-assign with User Group list. He forgot to remove "ASL mapped to" before he did modifications to Multilist01. Finally we know the solution, it depends on real business. If still need to mapping Supplier to Parts.PageTwo attribute, should modify "ASL mapped to" to other one attribute which already has assigned with Suppliers list. If do not need "ASL mapped to" function, should delete the data from database level. We cannot do it from JavaClient UI. delete propertytable where id in (select p.id from propertytable p, nodetable n where p.parentid =n.id and n.inherit=2000004219 and propertyid=794)

• Checking if an Unloaded Collection Contains Elements

  If you want to know if an unloaded collection in an entity contains elements, or count them, without actually loading them, you need to use a custom query; that is because the Count property (if the collection is not mapped with lazy=”extra”) and the LINQ Count() and Any() methods force the whole collection to be loaded. • Dell Alps Touchpad not working

  I have a Dell 17R SE with Ubuntu 13.04. The touchpad is recognized as PS/2 mouse out of the box, giving just normal touchpad behaviour, but no tap to click, no scrolling, etc. Most answers related to that issue suggest trying an ALPS driver from dahetral.com: http://www.dahetral.com/public-download For installing I followed the steps on this page: https://www.linuxwind.org/html/dell-touchpad-driver-for-ubuntu-13-04.html Now my xinput looks like this: Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ? ? Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ? ? PS/2 Mouse id=13 [slave pointer (2)] ? ? AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint id=14 [slave pointer (2)] ? ? Logitech Bluetooth Mouse M555b id=16 [slave pointer (2)] My touchpad isn't working at all now, just the two hardware buttons for left and right mouse buttons work. Interestingly also the tap to click functions works, but only in the address bar of nautilus, nowhere (!) else. What can I do? I would even switch back to initial state, where at least the basic touchpad functionality worked, i I knew, how to get there.

  Just a quick post, mainly to test out the new blog format but related to a question on the #sqlhelp hashtag. The question came from Justin Dearing (@zippy1981) as: So I take it database_id isn’t an ever incrementing value. #sqlhelp When a new database is created it is given the lowest available ID. This either is in a gap in IDs where a database has been dropped or the database ID is incremented by one from the highest current ID if there are no gaps to fill. • USB device is recognized but has no address

  Good day folks, I'm trying to use a USRP1 with GNURadio if anyone knows what any of that is. I am running Ubuntu on a Windows 7 machine via VMware player. When I connect this USRP1 via USB 2.0 drive to Windows 7 it is recognized as Ettus Research LLC USRP1... When I connect the device to Ubuntu through VMware, it shows: usb device fffe:0002 on my removable devices. When I run lsusb I receive the following: Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0e0f:0003 VMware, Inc. Virtual Mouse Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0e0f:0002 VMware, Inc. Virtual USB Hub Bus 001 Device 004: ID fffe:0002 When I run this program that comes with the USRP driver... uhd_find_devices I receive: -------------------------------------------------- -- UHD Device 0 -------------------------------------------------- Device Address: type: usrp1 name: serial: 00000000 So when I run this program, it does recognize the fact that this device is connected. However, the device has no address, no name, and has a null serial. I need to know the device address so I can run more programs in GNURadio. Does anyone know what the problem is here? Thanks!

  What strategies can be used to read every row in a large Oracle table, only once, but as fast as possible with JDBC & Java ? Consider that each row has non-trivial amounts of data (30 columns, including large text in some columns). Some strategies I can think of are: Single thread and read table. (Too slow, but listed for clarity) Read the id's into ConcurrentLinkedQueue, use threads to consume queue and query by id in batches. Read id's into a JMS queue, use workers to consume queue and query by id in batches. What other strategies could be used ? For the purpose of this question assume processing of rows to be free.

  I am learning DBMS in my college. Recently I was given an assignment to draw a E-R Model of a Bus Reservation system which handles Reservations, Ticketing and cancellations. I understand the theory about E-R model when I study from a book, but it gets confusing when I try to draw one from scratch. How should one proceed? There seem to be a lot of ways to model a E-R diagram for a particular requirement. It's really confusing. Can anyone explain taking Bus reservation System as an example? Here is the model I made (But I am not confident with it because at every step, I could think of many more alternatives!) - Entity_Set Passenger(passengerID,name,age,gender) Entity_Set Ticket(ticketID,status) //Status is either WaitingList , Confirmed or Cancelled Entity_Set Bus (busID,MaxSeats,Type) //Type is Ac or Non-AC Entity_Set Route(routeID,ArrivalTime,DepartureTime,Source,Destination) And a Ternary relationship between Passenger, Ticket and Bus with attributes as passengerID, ticketID, busID . Binary relationship between Bus and Route with attributes as busID, routeID . I have few doubts regarding - 1 . Should we take Time as a composite attribute with Arrival and Departure as its attributes (What's the difference if we take that way?) 2 . The same with Source and Destination. Should they be made into a composite attribute "Place" or something like "Location"? 3. Are there any weak entity sets here? Can you please 'create' a weak entity set and explain? Because I have no idea at all what to take as a Weak entity set?

• New Sample Demonstrating the Traversing of Tree Bindings

  A technique that I seem to use a fair amount, particularly in the construction of dynamic UIs is the use of a ADF Tree Binding to encode a multi-level master-detail relationship which is then expressed in the UI in some kind of looping form – usually a series of nested af:iterators, rather than the conventional tree or treetable. This technique exploits two features of the treebinding. First the fact that an treebinding can return both a collectionModel as well as a treeModel, this collectionModel can be used directly by an iterator. Secondly that the “rows” returned by the collectionModel themselves contain an attribute called .children. This attribute in turn gives access to a collection of all the children of that node which can also be iterated over. Putting this together you can represent the data encoded into a tree binding in all sorts of ways. As an example I’ve put together a very simple sample based on the HT schema and uploaded it to the ADF Sample project.   Please note, I am asking about writing LALR parser, not writing rules for LALR parser. What I need is... ...to mimic YACC precedence definitions. I don't know how it is implemented, and below I describe what I've done and read so far. For now I have basic LALR parser written. Next step -- adding precedence, so 2+3*4 could be parsed as 2+(3*4). I've read about precedence parsers, however I don't see how to fit such model into LALR. I don't understand two points: how to compute when insert parenthesis generator how to compute how many parenthesis the generator should create I insert generators when the symbols is taken from input and put at the stack, right? So let's say I have something like this (| denotes boundary between stack and input): ID = 5 | + ..., at this point I add open, so it gives ID = < 5 | + ..., then I read more input ID = < 5 + | 5 ... and more ID = < 5 + 5 | ; ... and more ID = < 5 + 5 ; | ... At this point I should have several reduce moves in normal LALR, but the open parenthesis does not match so I continue reading more input. Which does not make sense. So this was when problem. And about count, let's say I have such data < 2 + < 3 * 4 >. As human I can see that the last generator should create 2 parenthesis, but how to compute this? After all there could be two scenarios: ( 2 + ( 3 *4 )) -- parenthesis is used to show the outcome of generator or (2 + (( 3 * 4 ) ^ 5) because there was more input Please note that in both cases before 3 was open generator, and after 4 there was close generator. However in both cases, after reading 4 I have to reduce, so I have to know what generator "creates".

  Here is another way to access master page controls. This way has a bit less coding then my previous post on the subject. The scenario would be that you have a master page with a few navigation buttons at the top for users to navigate the app. After a button is clicked the corresponding aspx page would load in the ContentPlaceHolder. To make it easier for the users to see what page they are on I wanted the clicked navigation button to change color. This would be a quick visual for the user and is useful when inevitably they are interrupted with something else and cannot get back to what they were doing for a little while. Anyway the code is something like this.   I haven't had access to my USB ports as media devices for a couple days now. I've been reading and researching everything I can find but I can't find a good guide for usbmodeswtich or usbms that I can decipher. The USB's are fine for power, but won't support my android phone as a media device, which is killing me because I use adb everyday, and won't support my plug and play mouse any longer. Not sure what caused the switch, though I think it may be related to the suspend issue I've read about, but the solutions in those threads I read also didn't work. Below is my system information and details. The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a self-regulatory initiative for the European banking industry championed by the European Commission (EC) and the European Central Bank (ECB). The aim of the SEPA initiative is to improve the efficiency of cross border payments and the economies of scale by developing common standards, procedures, and infrastructure. The SEPA territory currently consists of 33 European countries -- the 28 EU states, together with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway and Switzerland. Part of that infrastructure includes two new SEPA instruments that were introduced in 2008: SEPA Credit Transfer (a Payables transaction in Oracle EBS) SEPA Core Direct Debit (a Receivables transaction in Oracle EBS) A SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) is an outgoing payment instrument for the execution of credit transfers in Euro between customer payment accounts located in SEPA. SEPA Credit Transfers are executed on behalf of an Originator holding a payment account with an Originator Bank in favor of a Beneficiary holding a payment account at a Beneficiary Bank. In R12 of Oracle applications, the current SEPA credit transfer implementation is based on Version 5 of the "SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme Customer-To-Bank Implementation Guidelines" and the "SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme Rulebook" issued by European Payments Council (EPC). These guidelines define the rules to be applied to the UNIFI (ISO20022) XML message standards for the implementation of the SEPA Credit Transfers in the customer-to-bank space.   I was finally able to connect to avasys.jp and downloaded and installed iscan_2.28.1-3.ltdl7_amd64.deb iscan-data_1.13.0-1_all.deb. The programs appeared to install correctly. I then ran sane-find-scanner and got back: found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x012d) at libusb:001:003 I then ran lsusb and got back: Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04b8:012d Seiko Epson Corp. Perfection V10/V100 (GT-S600/F650) Bus 001 Device 004: ID 03f0:4817 Hewlett-Packard Bus 002 Device 002: ID 093a:2510 Pixart Imaging, Inc. Optical Mouse the avasys image scan manual instructed me to run chmod 0666 /proc/bus/usb/001/003 which returned chmod: cannot access `/proc/bus/usb/001/003': No such file or directory In 12.04, no such directory exists. 12.04 appears to deal with USB in another way. What must I do to get the usb port 001/003 recognized by xsane and sane as the port where the scanner can be located? What must I do to continue installing the scanner?
