    Can an unreleased COM pointer to an external process (still alive) cause that process to hang on destruction? Even with TerminateProcess called on it? Process A has a COM interface pointer reference to Process B, now Process B issues a TerminateProcess on A, if some COM interface pointer to Process B in Process A is not released properly, could it be that the process hangs on termination?

  • How to call wordpress functions in custom php script

    I have a Php script I want to use for creating a new blog in WPMU. I am having trouble calling wordpress functions like "wpmu_create_user" and "wpmu_create_blog". My hope is to get this script running as a cron job from command line and pick up new blog creation requests from an external db, create a new blog using the wordpress functions and update the db with new blog info.     I know inline Javascript is frowned upon and with the new on-the-fly Javascript compressors that check for idle/unused function usage and omit the unused code, it seems good practice to have all your Javascript in an external file. My question is, in situations like FOUC (flash of unstyled content) which usually require little snippets of code right before the closing </body> tag, is there a JQuery resolution that would serve the same purpose, but from a remote Javascript file linked in the <head> of the document?

However, I now need to lazy-load Sizzle at two different points in the script, and call a different function either time once it's loaded. Ultimately, I just want to load Sizzle, then call any function that I need to (with any arguments that it needs) once it's done loading. Thanks for any help!

    Hello, I want to encode passwords for UNIX accounts using the crypt function. I'm using pharo 1.0. I tried to install the crypto package from squeakmap, but it gaves me an error and the package seem to get partially installed (categories without class). How can I get my password crypted? I'm willing to invoke external code, if it is required (and there's a package in SqueakMap that makes the trick in pharo). Thanks.

  • Can I make ruby send network traffic over a specific iface?

    I am writing a script that grabs the external IP address along with some other information about each iface. I can't figure out how to make ruby send traffic over a specific iface(eth0 and wlan0 for example). I am currently using the open-uri library to open http://whatismyip.org and read it into a variable. def get_external_ip begin open("http://whatismyip.org") { |f| return f.read } rescue return "none" end end Is there any way to specify this at runtime of the script or from within the script itself(ideally)?

    Hi, I'm getting the following error when trying to compile OpenSSL 1.0, 64 bit: ias -o tmp32\ia64cpuid.obj tmp32\ia64cpuid.asm 'ias' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.     I've had many laptops over the course of many years, and while many things have sped up, one thing remains as slow today as it was years ago: (dis)connecting an external display. What's taking it so long to detect the new display and update the pixel buffers? I use Macs primarily, but I think this is equally slow on other platforms.
