    I am working on a facebook connect application and I am just integrating facebook connect. So far, it does connect to facebook, however, it redirects to the page specified in the application settings in the dialog that appears instead of the page I was at. The dialog does not close and the page it supposedly directing to appears in the dialog box. What to do?

  • osCommerce custom PHP page

    Hello! One of my client has an old osCommerce website and while working on it I have to implement what I would call "custom php page", i.e. a page which query a MySQL table, not related to osCommerce, and list the result. I'm not sure of the version, this trick I have seen a lot didn't gave me any result : http://www.clubosc.com/how-to-know-what-version-of-oscommerce-you-are-using.html . And I'm having a hard time doing this seemingly simple task, since osCommerce doesn't allow any php code in the page creation, and I didn't find any module giving me this possibility (not that it is easy to search in this mess : http://addons.oscommerce.com/). At this point I figured it would be easier to just hack'n slash through the code and come up with a custom page : I copied the index.php (the entry point in the application) : <?php require('includes/application_top.php'); if(!$smarty->is_cached($sContentPage, $sCachingGroup)) { //we switch on the content recognition require('includes/pages/' . $sContentClass . So here I am, is there an osCommerce Guru around here, or would anyone has a better idea (oh and I also posted on the osCommerce forum, but I'm still waiting for a response...)?   • My linux server takes more than an hour to boot. Suggestions?

    I am building a CentOS 5.4 system that boots off a compact flash card using a card reader that emulates an IDE drive. It literally takes about an hour to boot. The ultra-slow part occurs when Grub is loading the kernel. Once that's done, the rest of the boot process only takes about a minute to get to a login prompt. Does anyone have any suggestions? I suspect that it may have to do with UDMA. Everything IDE-related in my BIOS seems to checkout. The read performance hdparm is telling me 1.77 MB/s. Ouch!     I'd like to implement a custom post retrieval page in wordpress. Basically, I'm using AJAX to call this page that will be passed a post ID and retrieve certain data from that post. Note: please don't mistake this as a template question. I do not want a template for one single page -- I am looking to make this page query multiple different posts based on postID and return certain data from that post. So I tried creating a page <?php $args=array( 'p'=>'77' ); $friends = new WP_Query($args); ?> <?php if ($friends->have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <?php the_title(); ?> <?php the_content(); ?> <?php else: ?> <p>Sorry, no posts are available.</p> <?php endif; ?> But this does not work since it is not loading in the wp functions to handle the query.     I'm using a jQuery plugin called InfiniteScroll (https://github.com/paulirish/infinite-scroll) and I have a URL with this pattern: '/category/2/', when I paged the result I use the following pattern: "/category/2?page=2". When Infinite Scroll makes de request, he increments the wrong number, in the case above, the request is: "/category/3?page=2" in place of "/category/2?page=3". Anyone knows how workaround this?

  • Initialize content of a jQuery remote tab on initial page load

    I'm using the jQuery tabs library to create a set of remote (i.e., ajax loaded) tabs. However, to avoid the initial page load being empty until the ajax request finishes, I'd like to include the content for the initial tab with the initial page download. I've got this generally working by providing a div in the initial page load that matches the title of the tab, but even though this content appears immediately, as soon as I initialize the tabs it does the ajax request IN ADDITION which is both wasteful and causes a flicker. My basic question is how can I get jQuery tabs to NOT do an ajax request for the initially selected tab, and get this content as part of the initial page load, while still loading the other tabs dynamically. The complication is that I can't hard code the ids/hrefs for which tab is the "initial" one since the initial tab will change based on available content. I'm sure there is some kind of hacky way to do this with javascript rewriting the URLs of tabs dynamically before I initialize the tabs but I'm looking for a cleaner solution. Any ideas?

    Guys, I am using dynamic programming approach to solve a problem. Here is a brief overview of the approach Each value generated is identified using 25 unique keys. I use the boost::hash_combine to generate the seed for the hash table using these 25 keys. I store the values in a hash table declared as boost::unordered_map<Key_Object, Data_Object, HashFunction> hashState; I did a time profiling on my algorithm and found that nearly 95% of the run time is spent towards retrieving/inserting data into the hash table. These were the details of my hash table hashState.size() 1880 hashState.load_factor() 0.610588 hashState.bucket_count() 3079 hashState.max_size() 805306456 hashState.max_load_factor() 1 hashState.max_bucket_count() 805306457 I have the following two questions Is there anything which I can do to improve the performance of the Hash Table's insert/retrieve operations? C++ STL has hash_multimap which would also suit my requirement. How does boost libraries unordered_map compare with hash_multimap in terms of insert/retrieve performance.

However, the code that uses a variable which contains the precomputed value for the loop limit is significantly slower than either of the others. I'm not surprised that accessing a variable should be slower that using a literal but why does code that looks like it should be using two multiply instructions on every iteration of the loop so comparable in performance to a literal? Could it be that because literals are the only thing being multiplied, the Java compiler is optimizing out the multiplication and using a precomputed literal?

    If you had to iterate through a loop 7 times, would you use: for (int i = 0; i < 7; i++) or: for (int i = 0; i <= 6; i++) There are two considerations: performance readability For performance I'm assuming Java or C#. Does it matter if "less than" or "less than or equal to" is used? If you have insight for a different language, please indicate which. For readability I'm assuming 0-based arrays. UPD: My mention of 0-based arrays may have confused things. I'm not talking about iterating through array elements. Just a general loop. There is a good point below about using a constant to which would explain what this magic number is. So if I had "int NUMBER_OF_THINGS = 7" then "i <= NUMBER_OF_THINGS - 1" would look weird, wouldn't it.

    I am trying to display a list of pages similar to the facebook search results. Along with the page's name, I would like to display the page type. The page's type property (from the Pages.getInfo API call returns the rather unfriendly looking strings from this list: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Page_Types Is there any way to map these to or retrieve the actual type descriptions facebook uses for page types in the facebook search results? These are not only more presentable, but appear to be less granular (both good things for my purpose).

    I want to write a Firefox extension that acts exactly like the built-in RSS feed scanner (as an exercise). It should do the following: On each new page / tab load, it should scan the content of the page for RSS feeds If there are RSS feeds in the page, it should put a button in the location bar that the user can click On clicking the button, a speech bubble should appear under the button (the way a speech bubble appears under the bookmarks star when you click on it), with information on the feeds and buttons to subscribe to them So my main questions are: What is the process to run specific content scripts for specific pages? What is the process to use the results of those scripts to update the speech bubble for each location bar button for each tab? Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to do in Firefox what Page Actions are in Google Chrome. Please help! :)

    I know that in SQL Server, the maximum number of "objects" in a database is a little over 2 billion. Objects contains tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, among other things . I'm not at all worried about going beyond 2 billion objects. However, what I would like to know, is, does SQL Server suffer a performance hit from having a large number of tables. Does each table you add have a performance hit, or is there basically no difference (assuming constant amount of data). Does anybody have any experience working with databases with thousands of tables? I'm also wondering the same about MySQL.

Such functionality is not built into phpbb (from what I can tell), so how should I go about doing this? Can I modify the code of phpbb directly? My other thought was to use a js conditional statement, but seeing as the only difference on the forums page would be the page title, I don't know how I could format this.

  • Make browser to go back by reloading page 1st and then scrolling it back again too

    EXPLAINING WHAT I'M TRYING TO SOLVE: I have a webpage (file_list.php) showing a list of files, and next to each file there is a button to delete it. When user press the DELETE button close to a certain file name, the browser goes to a script called delete_file.php that deletes the file and then it tells browser to go back to the file_list.php delete_file.php uses a simple header("Location: file_list.php”); to go back to file_list.php When browser goes back to file_list.php it reloads the page, but it DOES NOT scroll it back again to where the user was before. So let's say the user scrolled the files list and deleted the last file, when the browser shows again the page file_list.php it won't be scrolled to the bottom of the page again. THE WORKAROUND I CAME OUT WITH: I found a strange way to work around this, basically instead of using header("Location: file_list.php”); in delete_file.php I simply use a javascript call window.history.go(-1). This workaround works perfectly when user is in session (simply using PHP session_start function): the browser RELOADS the file_list.php page and then scrolls it also bask to where it was before. But if the user is NOT in session the browser scrolls the page but IT DOES NOT RELOAD IT before, so the user would still see the file he deleted in the file list. THE QUESTIONS Do you know how to reproduce the behavior of the browser when goes back being in session even if we are not in session? Do you know a way out of this, even another way of solving this matter? Thanks! *I know I could use AJAX to delete the file so I would not have to go every time to delete_file.php, but this is not the answer*.

    I have some performance issue when I host WCF service (net.tcp) under WAS (IIS 7). It is working fine when I host service under console application. The issue is WCF Become Slow After Being Idle For 15 Seconds and a solution. After applying Wenlong Dong workaround delay is gone, but it does not work in WAS (IIS 7). I tried to put "ThreadPoolTimeoutWorkaround.DoWorkaround()" in static AppInitialize() as suggested here, still no luck. Thanks
