  • iTunes Connect rejects my binary because I used a pre-release version of the SDK, what should I do?

    NOTE - I'm posting this question to answer myself as a service to the community. Stay tuned for the answer. I downloaded a pre-release version of the iPhone SDK and tried to update one of my existing apps using a binary I built with it. Obviously you are not supposed to do this but I had forgotten about the warning when I installed the pre-release SDK. Anyway - I have two questions: Can I simply set the base SDK to an earlier version in the build settings and get around this problem? If not, then what should I do?

  • VS2010 patce: why it's take so muce time to install it?

    Visual Studio 2010 RC has a few of patches release. For more information about them take a look here. What I'm expect from patch program, is to replace a few dll's of the program to a new fixed version of them. But when I run each of this 3 patches, they take a lot of time (5 minutes each), and you think that the program was frozen because the progress bar stay on the begging. This is question may not be so important, but it really interesting me to know, why this happens? It's really confusing to see that each VS2010 (or Microsoft in general) is frozen to 4-5 minutes.

  • Android: How to restore List data when pressing the "back" button?

    Hi there, My question is about restoring complex activity related data when coming back to the activity using the "back" button". Activity A has a ListView which is connected to ArrayAdapter serving as its data source - this happens in onCreate(). By default, if I move to activity B and press "back" to get back to activity A, does my list stay intact with all the data or do I just get visual "copy" of the screen but the data is lost? What can I do when more than activities are involved? Let's say activity A starts activity B which starts activity C and then I press "back" twice to get to A. How do I ensure the integrity of the A's data when it gets back to the foreground? PrefsManager does not seem to handle complex object very intuitively. Thanks, Rob

  • Unit of Work pattern and persistence

    Hello, I have been reading about Unit of Work pattern but I am confused about how the UoW actually persists data. When we commit the changes, UoW should iterate through the list of Added, Updated and Deleted objects and somehow find a class responsible to Add, Update, Delete objects of a certain type. I couldn't find an example showing this technique. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Mosh

  • HttpSendRequest not getting latest file from server

    I am having an issue with my HTTP requests in my app, such that if the remote file is the same size as the local file (even though its modified time is different, as its contents have been changed), attempts to download it return quickly and the newer file is not downloaded. In short, the process I am following is: Setting up an HTTP connection with the INTERNET_FLAG_RESYNCHRONIZE flag and calling HttpSendRequest(); then checking the HTTP status code and finding it to be "200". If the remote file is updated, but remains the same size as the local copy: The local file is unchanged after running the app. If I call HttpQueryInfo() with HTTP_QUERY_LAST_MODIFIED after sending the request, it gives me the actual last modified time of the server's file, which I can see is different from the local file I am trying to have it overwrite. If the remote file is updated, and the file size becomes different from the local copy: It is downloaded and overwrites the local copy as expected.   • What next in the career map for a Lead QA Engineer

    I am a Lead QA Engineer in a Software company and at a stage in my career wherein i need to plan my next move. Option 1: The very obvious move would be to stay as a QA Lead and eventually become a QA Manager. But i don't see very good prospects/future after that. Or am i wrong? Option 2: I love programming/coding, though i haven't spent a whole lot of time on that. So a direct move to becoming a Software Developer is not possible. Will moving to Test Automation eventually lead me to development. Even so, am i looking at step-down in pay and career-level. Option 3: Moving to Product Management.   • As-You-Type-Searching with Core Data / NSFetchedResultsController

    I implemented an as-you-type-searching (text search on single attribute) by fetching with performFetch: after each given character by the user. The performFetch: is running in a background thread to avoid keyboard freezes. But while typing many useless fetches are started. A NSOperationQueue might be an option, but I wonder if there are other approaches for this quite usual search behavior. What's best practice to notice when fetching is done and the table view is updated with the previous fetch to start a new fetch?

  • Uploading multiple files simultaneously with Flex

    I have been working on a flex uploader, where the user can select multiple files. It works fine when the files are uploaded in a queue (one at a time), however as soon as I try to have it upload 2 files at once I run into issues. It seems that files will often lock up, and either stay at 1% until every other file is uploaded, or just not complete at all. There is never more than one file uploading at a time. Is there some issue with calling .upload on multiple files at once in Flex?

Changes will be lost.", [creator propertyName]] delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Stay Here" destructiveButtonTitle:@"Discard and Close" otherButtonTitles:@"Save and Close", nil]; [sheet showInView:self.view]; [sheet release]; It creates the action sheet, The buttons display, the Destructive button is on top, cancel button is on the bottom, other button (save and close) shows up in the middle, the top two buttons, (destructive and other) work fine, but the bottom button has a gap, so it is farther down than the other buttons. For some reason though, in order to press the button I need to touch where it would be if there was no gap. Touching the actual button doesn't work. Sorry if this isn't super clear, has anyone encountered something like this? I don't like to whip out the "I found a bug" card too fast, maybe I'm doing something wrong here.

I would have liked to use one of the Eclipse plugins for lua, but both of them -- LuaEclipse and LunarEclipse -- haven't been updated in nearly two years, and don't seem to work with Eclipse 3.5. If you have had any luck in getting lua working in Eclipse, I would be very interested.

  • DatagridView loses current edit on Background update

The udpates are showing correctly, and everything is fine except for one thing - If you try to edit a different field while the background-updated field is being updated, it loses the entered value.   • How to set timeout with python-mechanize?

    I'm using python-mechanize to scrape some web sites, which sometime simply don't respond to requests and these requests stay open too long, so I need to limit timeout for these requests. While using urlopen method, the timeout can be set using timeout parameter, but I have not found easy way for doing it with high level API such as submit or click methods. Ideally the timeout would be set just once for whole browser class and all calls would honor that. It would be probably possible to customize this by passing custom request_class to every click and submit call, but this would just pollute the code, so I'm looking for nicer solution for setting timeout for mechanize's browser class (and no, I don't want to change default socket timeout using socket.setdefaulttimeout).

  • Simple 2-color differential image compression

    Is there an efficient, quick and simple example of doing differential b/w image compression? Or even better, some simple (but lossless) streaming technique which could accept a number of frames as input? I have a simple b/w image (320x200) stream, displaying something similar to a LED display, which is updated about once a second using AJAX. Images are pretty similar most of the time, so if I subtracted them, result would compress pretty well (even with simple RLE). Is something like this available?
