Hi
In VB.NET there is an option to add a Splash Screen when you click Add New Window but when I do that with C#, I can't find any thing.
so
How I can add a Splash Screen in Visual C#?
The documentation on the various WiX sites (Sourceforge or Codeplex) is a little unclear. Is it the case that only version 3.5 (still in beta) of WiX will integrate with VisualStudio 2010 (i.e. allow me to add and edit a WiX project in a solution)?
Hi all. This is the weirdest thing:
For some reason, when I'm running VS 2008 in XP, and I use the 'Advanced Appearance settings' control panel to change the Size of menu items in all applications, VisualStudio 2008 is unaffected by the change. (That's Control Panel - Display - Appearance tab - Advanced - select 'Menu' from the item drop-down, and change the Font size)
Anyone else noticed this? Is anyone aware of a fix?
Thanks in advance!
I must have done something wrong. I have a C# project in VisualStudio 2008. All of a sudden I see a lock on my classes and when I hover the class names on the top tab I see the class name as : C:\Myprojects\Oder.cs[Read Only] !
Has something weird like that happened to you before ?
Thanks
For C# VisualStudio uses 4 spaces by default, whereas for C++ it is hard-tabs. Why is it so? Why is it different?
My project consists of both C# and C++ code and the difference really annoys me. I want to set a common standard for all the sources, but I wonder if this would have any drawbacks.
Are any of the VisualStudio Express editions able to work with C++/CLI code? Currently when I go to "Add File" in either the C# 2008 or C++ 2008 versions I do not see the option for creating C++/CLI.
How can I prevent VisualStudio from naming the classes for new pages that are in folders from being named with the folder name? Does this method not set "right" with anyone else?
I am working with VisualStudio 2008. Actually there is References folder missing in its solution explorer. When I create a New web Application it has References folder but when I add new .aspx file it also adds .aspx.designer.cs file with it and its does not show master page option in add dialogue. but in the old web application it shows the master page option where master page file is already added. whats the difference between these two solutions.
Hi guys, I would like to install VisualStudio 2008 and MS SQL Server 2008 on Ubuntu OS which I have in my PC, however, I don't know how. May I have some tips please? Thanks.
I run into a problem when trying to debug an opensource project,
it requires Visual C++ 2008 Express' sdk to compile successfully, but I'm using cdt.
Is there a way to manually install the sdk for cdt manually?(My disk space and memory are very limited...)
To be a bit more clear. If I have a VisualStudio C++ solution that has two projects, say a static library with CLR support turned off, and a second project with CLR support turned on that depends on this static library, does the static library get compiled as managed code? What about libraries that the CLR project uses that are external to this solution, do they also get compiled as managed code?
Ctrl+3 in Eclipse can do this:

Is there an equivalent in Visual Studio? Or via some 3rd party plugin?
How do I represent integer array as attribute of a class in VisualStudio 2010's UML class diagrams? I know hot to add normal integers, but I'm hoping that there is a way to do it other than adding [] to integer's name.
I'm new to UML, so I could be missing something obvious here.
Should I use Is ordered and Is unique?
In my VisualStudio 2010 project I have files with .mm file extension, that need to be compiled as normal C++ files. Is there a way to make a build rule for new extensions or something like that? In VS 2008 there were options for that, but they are gone in 2010.
I am trying to find out the version of Visual Study that is used to compile the python on my computer
It says
Python 2.6.2 (r262:71605, Apr 14 2009, 22:40:02) [MSC v.1500 32 bit (Intel)] on win32
What I do not understand is that MSC V.1500. Does it mean it is compiled with 2005?
I cannot find this information on `python.org' neither. Any help is appreciated!
I have an older laptop that I won't get around to replacing for another month or two. It has 1GB of memory so I'm trying to squeeze applications as much as possible.
In VisualStudio 2010, it has apparently loaded some extensions related to Team Foundation Server, since I have menu items and dialog choices for it.
Questions:
Would I save a noticable amount of memory (even a couple of MB would be good) if I managed to disable this?
How do I disable it?
Hi I am getting the operation cannot be completed error when i tried to open Visualstudio 2010. Previous to that I was trying to install web platform and didnt install but that is all I did...anyone have suggestions...i tried restart my pc...
I recently came across this website: http://studiostyles.info, which contains a list of color schemes that people have already created.
However, I can't find instructions on how to import them into VisualStudio 2010, does anyone know how?
PS: I am sorry, if this question has been asked but I cannot find an answer, through search.
Hi,
My VisualStudio 2010 project creates resource.h when compiled but does creates the file in UTF-16. How do I get VS 2010 to generate this file in either UTF-8 or ANSI?
Note: I need this to happen automatically. So, re-opening the file and resaving it is not an option.
Thanks.
Hi;
I want to know that, if is it possible to see the different parts of a file at the same time in Zend Studio 7? Maybe in different windows or something like that. I know this can be succeeded with simpler editors like editPlus
tHanks
In VisualStudio 2008 I know its possible to have one solution with two (or more) projects.
Is it possible OR How is it possible for the projects to share common class files?
For example - Project 1 has a log file handling class. Can Project 2 reference it?
My hope is to increase code re-use and avoid two copies of the same thing that need to be maintained.
The target is Winforms C# (3.5)
