• zk 5.0 - resizing of boxes when browser is resized

  Hi, I am using zk 5.0. I have used hflex and vflex in hboxes and vboxes as shown below. According to zk documentation, the boxes should resize automatically when the browser is resized. • Alarm not working if application gets killed

  Hi, I am trying to use an alarm to set my widget layout after some minutes. Everything works correctly in normal situation but, if I try to delete the process of my application, simulating a system kill, after the alarm is set, then no alarm is executed. Why? From documentation it seems that alarms are executed by AlarmManager service...so it should work. Thanks Tobia Loschiavo

  I'm using the sfGuardDoctrine plugin, and I would like to customize the form validation messages. How could I acomplish this? I can't find anything in the documentation. The only way I have found is to copy sfGuardValidatorUser.class into /apps/frontend/lib/validator, but I would like to know if there is some way to just override the error message, not override the entire validator...

• Should I really be expected to work more than 40 hours a week just because I am 'salaried developer'

  My boss says that I shouldn't be counting hours, but I am only getting paid for a full time job 40 hours per week. I don't get it. I could be using the rest of the hours in my day to run a small side business and get more income. However I have noticed other people just working and working whatever hours to hit the deadline. How is this fair? Of course the argument was 'if you worked more and increased your value then you will get more money'. A friend I regard as one of the smartest people I know (engineered his own sonar system for example) said that you should never work beyond what you are getting paid for. Thoughts?

• PHP: Simple, Validate if string is hex?

  I have no clue how to validate this string. I am simply supplying an IV for an encryption, but can find no "is_hex()" or similar function, I can't wrap my head around it! I read on a comment in the php documentation (user contrib. notes) this: if($iv == dechex(hexdec($iv))) { //True } else { //False } But that doesn't seem to work at all.. It only says false.   What are all the file formats supported by UIWebView? In my testing, I found that it supports XLS, DOC, PPT, PDF but not XLSX, and DOCX, RTF. It supports image files like, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, not sure about TIFF or Exactly, what all types are supported is not clear... The UIWebView documentation also doesn't state it clearly. Could someone please help?

I wanted to also be able to pass in a qr quoted variable to use in the comparison instead but the only way I can think of separating the comparisons is using an if/else block, like so: if (lc ref($params{whatever}) eq 'regexp') { #use =~ } else { #use eq } Is there a shorter way of doing it? Because of reasons beyond my control I'm using Perl 5.8.8 so I can't use the smart match operator. TIA

  I created my own object, PKSurvey. In the interface of the View Controller I can define a pointer to it, then in a method I can alloc it and have an instance. How do I keep the instance beyond the method where it was allocated? I assign values in one method and want to be able to use those values in other methods.   So, I'd like to be able to make a call x = MyClass.new('good morning', 'good afternoon', 'good evening', 'good night', ['hello', 'goodbye']) that would add methods to the class whose values are the values of the arguments. So now: p x.methods #> [m_greeting, a_greeting, e_greeting, n_greeting, r_greeting, ...] And p x.m_greeting #> "good morning" p x.r_greeting #> ['hello', 'goodbye'] I realize that this is sort of what instance variables are to do (and that if I wanted them immutable I could make them frozen constants) but, for reasons beyond my control, I need to make methods instead. I have been looking for choices beyond: MSMQ a proprietary solution (what our prototype device is using) AMQP (I have not found any RabbitMQ clients for CE, by example) ... are there any others? We will be transporting sensitive data (who isn't?!?!) over a public network, and large scale options are required. Anything running on an embedded device will be performance sensitive too.

  Im learning JQuery from a Sitepoint Book but Im trying to apply all the lessons to a Rails App. In one lesson, we are taught how to switch to a different stylesheet if the browser window is resized beyond a certain point. Here's the javascript code: if ($('body').width() > 900) { $('<link rel="stylesheet" href="wide.css" type="text/css" />') .appendTo('head'); } else { $('link[href=wide.css]').remove(); } Rails doesn't seem to want to link to the new stylesheet using 'link rel'. I've tried using the Rails helper: <%= stylesheet_link_tag 'base', :media => 'screen' %> but that doesn't work in a .js file. How do I link to an external stylesheet in a .js file using Ruby? Can I use Ruby on Rails code in a .js file? Thanks.

  I want to know if there is anyway for removing not required elements from generated xml using jaxb.I have my xsd element definition as follows. <xsd:element name="Title" maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0"> <xsd:annotation> <xsd:documentation> A name given to the digital record. </xsd:documentation> </xsd:annotation> <xsd:simpleType> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:minLength value="1"></xsd:minLength> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType> </xsd:element> As you can see it is not a mandatory element because minOccurs="0" But if it is not empty the length should be 1. <xsd:minLength value="1"></xsd:minLength> At the time of marshalling if I left the Title field blank it is throwing the SAXException because of min-length restriction. So what I want to do is to remove the whole occurrence of <Title/> from generated XML.Right now i have removed the min-length restriction so it is adding the <Title> element as EMPTY <Title></Title> But I do not want it like this.Any help is appreciated.I am using jaxb 2.0 for Marshalling.   Hi, my layout's requirement is to keep all thumbnails at 80px height, not higher, not smaller. In my model I set the style to :thumb= "500x80", so basically almost every picture which is not too wide gets its perfect miniature with 80px height. Sometimes, however, my pictures are narrow and high, so the thumb can have unclickable dimensions of like 5x80. So I dont want to crop pictures as long as thumbnails are not getting crazy narrow, but I think I can make a little sacrifice and crop them if thumb's width is getting smaller than 25px. So my questions is - is it possible in paperclip to set minimal proportions of a picture by which the style will be "500x80" and beyond that it will turn to sth like "25x80#"?
