• How to show only border of window (winforms) when resizing in C#?

  Hi, I would like to disable displaying of the content of the window when resizing, is it possible? The problem is that when I'm resizing my window the controls redraw on correct positions but it doesn't look good because it's not done fluently. EDIT: I would like a code that would manage the following scenario: 1) I click on the corner of window 2) Now only the border of window is visible - the middle part is transparent 3) I set the size of the window by mouse 4) I release the mouse button and the middle part of the window will appear Thank you for help!

  I am relatively new to XSL and I think this is a basic question. So I better get my apologies in early! Basically, I would like to use a value-of function. This will be in a template and I would like to pass part of the xpath as a parameter. <xsl:variable name="TEST_VAR">"h:elementA/elementB"</xsl:variable> ... and then use the variable (or passed in param) as all (or part) of the xpath: <xsl:element name="transformedElement"><xsl:value-of select=$TEST_VAR/></xsl:element> I would really like to have the xpath to be a mixture of string literals and the vlue of TEST_VAR. • Doing Forms With Just Windows SharePoint Services 3.0?

  For the most part my organization is happy with WSS 3.0 (no upgrading to MOSS) with one exception, there is really just one form we'd like to put up somehow. It's fairly big form (basically change requests for IT services, on paper it's easily 2 full 8.5 by 11 pages). We thought about Custom ASP.NET coding as a separate stand-alone page or maybe as a web part. What have other people out there done? MOSS and Infopath is not really an option as it really is too expensive for us at this time. Thanks in advance!

  I recently stumbled upon Code Contracts and have started using them in my C# projects. However, I also have a number of projects written in C++/CLI. For C# and VB, Code Contracts offer a handy configuration panel in the project properties dialog. For a C++/CLI project, there is no such panel. From the documentation, I got the impression that adding Code Contracts support to a C++/CLI project should be a simple matter of calling some external tools as part of the build process (namely ccrefgen.exe, cccheck.exe, and ccrewrite.exe). However, the number of command line options and restrictions concerning the call sequence have me somewhat intimidated. Can anybody point me to a simple way to run the Code Contracts tools as an automated part of the build process in Visual Studio?

• Modifying generator.yml views in Symfony

  Hey! I'm currently working on a web app written in Symfony. I'm supposed to add an "export to CSV" feature in the backend/administration part of the app for some modules. In the list view, there should be an "Export" button which should provide the user with a csv file of the elements that are displayed (considering filtering criteria). I've created a method in the actions class of the module that takes a comma separated list of ids and generates the CSV, but I'm not really sure how to add the link to it in the view. The problem is that the view doesn't exist anywhere, it's generated on the fly from the data in the generator.yml configuration file. • django generic view update/create: update works but create raises IntegrityError

  I'm using CreateView and UpdateView directely into urls.py of my application whose name is dydict. In the file forms.py I'm using ModelForm and I'm exluding a couple of fields from being shown, some of which sould be set when either creating or updating. So, as mentioned in the title, update part works but create part doesn't which is obvious because required fields that I have exluded are sent empty which is not allowed in my case. So the question here is, how should I do to fill exluded fields into the file forms.py so that I don't have to override CreateView? Thanks in advance.

• Gnome 3 - Multiple Video Cards - Xinerama -- Forced Fallback Mode

  Just installed a 2nd nvidia video card -- previously had gnome 3 working perfectly with 2 monitors on a a single video card using twinview tried a number of things thus far twinview on 1 card + xinerama no xinerama no twinview various manual xorg.conf hacks based on random forums (couple references below) xinerama no twinview with and without Extensions Composite The last one is what I'm using now -- it results in a forced fallback mode with Composite Disable set at the end of xorg.conf via nvidia-settings Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Disable" EndSection when I disabled that last snippet it boots to gnome 3 full with the left monitor on a black screen and the middle monitor as primary but non-responsive switching to console mode Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then switching back I get 3 black screens with a mouse that can move around but nothing to interact with issue seems related to OpenGL and the multiple video cards -- I can boot into Unity without issue though my Glx-Dock shows up with the black background as barely shows in the screenshot below indicating the OpenGL is not initiated has anyone had any luck with getting Xinerama to work with Multiple NVidia Video Cards with OpenGL support?   I am about to write an audio file converter for my side job at the university. As part of this I would need sample rate conversion. However, my professor said that it would be pretty hard to write a sample rate converter that was both of good quality and fast. On my research on the subject, I found some functions in the OSX CoreAudio-framework, that could do a sample rate conversion (AudioConverter.h). After all, an OS has to have some facilities to do that for its own audio stack. Do you know a similar method for C/C++ and Windows, that are either part of the OS or open source? I am pretty sure that this function exists within DirectX Audio (XAudio2?), but I seem to be unable to find a reference to it in the MSDN library.

• Apache not loading Xdebug, but does when started from the Command Line

  I know that this sounds odd, but believe me, it's what is happening. Here are my system settings: Windows7 Apache 2.2 PHP 5.2.12 Xdebug 2.0.5 I have XDebug configured in my PHP.ini file. When I run php -m, I do in fact see that Xdebug is loaded. Now, if I start Apache AS A SERVICE (or by the Apache Monitor), and run phpinfo(), it is NOT showing Xdebug as being loaded. However, (now here's the crazy part), if I go to my Apache bin directory, and simply run httpd.exe, and then go and look at phpinfo(), Xdebug now shows as being loaded! Also, comparing some phpinfo() when started via service or by command line, it looks like the php.ini file is the same for either case. Everything looks the same except for the Xdebug being loaded part. Please, if you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi all, I would like to generate a report similar to JavaDoc so that you can real easily click on a test, result, and source. I am running HtmlUnit tests so I will have the result (html), source (request, headers, parameters, etc.), stack trace all visible so a developer or qa can go back later to review this to see what went awry. So, in the left frame, the tests will be listed along with the group they were a part of (similar to packages in javadoc). In the right frame, the results will be presented along with the source and stack trace. How can I achieve this? The HtmlUnit tests are part of the project and not a stand-alone plugin if that matters. Thanks, Walter

• Locking NFS files in PHP

  Part of my latest webapp needs to write to file a fair amount as part of its logging. One problem I've noticed is that if there are a few concurrent users, the writes can overwrite each other (instead of appending to file). I assume this is because of the destination file can be open in a number of places at the same time. flock(...) is usually superb but it doesn't appear to work on NFS... Which is a huge problem for me as the production server uses a NFS array. The closest thing I've seen to an actual solution involves trying to create a lock dir and waiting until it can be created. To say this lacks elegance is understatement of the year, possibly decade. Any better ideas? Edit: I should add that I don't have root on the server and doing the storage in another way isn't really feasible any time soon, not least within my deadline.

  Hello, I have a OpenLDAP Database and it holds some project objects that look like dn: cn=Proj1,ou=Project,ou=ua,dc=org cn: Proj1 objectClass: top objectClass: posixGroup member: 001ag member: 002ag System: ABEL System: PCx Budget: ABEL:1000000:0.3 Budget: PCx:300000:0.3 One can see that the Budget attribute is a ":"-separated string, where the first part holds the name of the system the budget is for, the second part holds some budget (which may change every month) and the last entry is a conversion factor for the budget of that system. Seeing this, I thought this is bad database design, since attribute values should always be atomic. But how can I improve that in LDAP, so that I can do a direct ldapsearch or a direct ldapmodify of the budget of System "ABEL" instead of writing a script, that will have to parse and split the ":"-separated string?

• Any way to do slanted/diagonal mouseovers via css/javascript?

  Hi, I have a box built via html borders. I want to connect the bottom left corner to the top right corner with a diagonal line. Either with html/css or by using a background image, doesn't matter. I'll figure that part out later. ------ - /- - / - - / - -/---- Here's the tricky part: I want a different thing to happen depending on which side of the line the mouse is hovering over. I'll do something like make some text visible or change the background color. Is that possible in web programing? I've thought of doing a "Riemann sum" type calculation with a bunch of invisible divs. Any easier way? Thanks!

  Hi All, What I am trying to do is create tooltip functionality so that certain words in my instructional app can be tapped and the definition pops up. For the popup part I plan on using code from “AFInformationView” which provides bubbles on the iPhone. The part I'm struggling with is how to associate A particular word's location with the bubble. Currently I have the text on a UILabel that is on a custom UITableCell. Since I calculate the row height on the fly with: [textToUse sizeWithFont:[UIFont systemFontOfSize:FONT_SIZE] constrainedToSize:CGSizeMake(stop-start, 500)]; I'm not sure what the coordinates for a specific word will be. I was thinking that if I created a custom DataDetectorType that could be the fix. If anyone knows how to do this or has any other ideas I would be happy to hear them. Thanks, Andrew

• Creating a "less"-like console pager interface for pysqlite3 database

  I would like to add some interactive capability to a python CLI application I've writen that stores data in a SQLite3 database. Currently, my app reads-in a certain type of file, parses and analyzes, puts the analysis data into the db, and spits the formatted records to stdout (which I generally pipe to a file). There are on-the-order-of a million records in this file. Ideally, I would like to eliminate that text file situation altogether and just loop after that "parse and analyze" part, displaying a screen's worth of records, and allowing the user to page through them and enter some commands that will edit the records. The backend part I know how to do. Can anyone suggest a good starting point for creating that pager frontend either directly in the console (like the pager "less"), through ncurses, or some other system?

  For everyone that was thinking of the error_reporting() function, then it isn't, what I need is whenever a MySQL query has been done, and the statement has like if($result) { echo "Yes, it was fine... bla bla"; } else { echo "Obviously, the echo'ing will show in a white page with the text ONLY..."; } Whenever statements have been true or false, I want the error to be appeared when redirected with the header() function and echo the error reporting in a div somewhere on the page. Basically something like this: $error = ''; This part appears inside the div tags <div><?php echo $error; ?></div> So the error part will be echoed when redirected with the header() if($result) { $error = "Yes, it was fine... bla bla"; header("Location: url"); } else { $error = "Something wrong happened..."; header("Location: url"); } But that just doesn't work :(

• NSString within a link

  Hi, I have a UIWebView that loads a link, http://www.google.com/a/datacommsales.net. But I want to have the datacommsales.net part interchangable. What I would like it to be is http://www.google.com/a/stringOne, stringOne being the NSString, so I can set the value of the string and change the link without editing the code. But the link is inside quotes, @"http://www.google.com/a/datacommsales.net", so it doesn't recognize the string. How could I include the string's value as part of the link? Any help is appreciated.

• CakePHP Accessing Dynamically Created Tables?

  As part of a web application users can upload files of data, which generates a new table in a dedicated MySQL database to store the data in. They can then manipulate this data in various ways. The next version of this app is being written in CakePHP, and at the moment I can't figure out how to dynamically assign these tables at runtime. I have the different database config's set up and can create the tables on data upload just fine, but once this is completed I cannot access the new table from the controller as part of the record CRUD actions for the data manipulate. I hoped that it would be along the lines of function controllerAction(){ $this->uses[] = 'newTable'; $data = $this->newTable->find('all'); //use data } But it returns the error Undefined property: ReportsController::$newTable Fatal error: Call to a member function find() on a non-object in /app/controllers/reports_controller.php on line 60 Can anyone help.

  I have the following Linq Expression var tooDeep = shoppers .Where(x => x.Cart.CartSuppliers.First().Name == "Supplier1") .ToList(); I need to turn the name part into the following string. x.Cart.CartSuppliers.Name As part of this I turned the Expression into a string and then split on the . and removed the First() argument. However, when I get to CartSuppliers this returns a Suppliers[] array. Is there a way to get the single type from this. eg. I need to get a Supplier back. Thanks

• Streaming files from EventMachine handler?

  I am creating a streaming eventmachine server. I'm concerned about avoiding blocking IO or doing anything else to muck up the event loop. From what I've read, ruby's non-blocking IO can be used to stream files in a non-blocking way, or I can call next_tick, but I'm a little unclear about which of these approaches is preferable. Part of the problem is that I have not found a good explanation of non-blocking IO library functions in ruby. Short version: Assuming a long-lived network IO operation, several wall clock minutes of streaming per file, transfer, what is the best way to do this in eventmachine without gumming up the event loop? while 1 do file.read do |bytes| @conn.send_data bytes end end I understand that the above code will block and I'm wondering what to put in its place. Also, I cannot use the FileStreamer class that is part of eventmachine as is, because I need to manipulate the data after it's read but before it's sent. Thanks, Noah
