• Convert latitude and longitude into northings and eastings

  Hi I have the following UK postcode dy8 3xt and know that the latitude and longitude is:- 54.452772 -2.156082 I also know that the Eastings, Northings for the postcode is:- 389490 283880 However I am struggling to find the equation that converts lat/long to northings and Eastings, I would prefer to have the equation in both in jScript and c# (I am being greedy)! Can anyone help? EDIT Thanks for your help so far guys, I am starting to learn something here esp. the terminology... Some more info, if you click on this link you can see the results I am looking for. The postcode I entered projects to lat/lng using WG S84 and the grid ref projects to OSGB. • Setting the content-type of requests performed by jQuery jqGrid

  I am using the latest version of jqGrid: 3.6.4 This seems like a simple problem (or at least it did before I spent a few hours on it): When the grid sends a request to the server (to a controller action), its content-type is always: application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8 and I would like it to be: application/json; charset=utf-8 but I can find no way of setting the content-type (there is no contentType option as you would find on a $.ajax call for example). So just to clarify, I am not asking how to set the content-type on a jQuery server request, but specifically using jqGrid, which does not provide an obvious option for doing this. Thanks, Nigel.

• WPF - How to properly reference a class from XAML

  OK, this is a super super noob question, one that I'm almost embarrassed to ask... I want to reference a class in my XAML file. It's a DataTemplateSelector for selecting the right edit template for a DataGrid column. Anyway, I've written the class into my code behind, added the local namespace to the top of top of the XAML, but when I try to reference the class from the XAML, it tells me the class does not exist in the local namespace. I must be missing something really really simple but I just can't understand it... Here's my code. • Can I pass data via JQUERY to ASP.NET MVC controller action and have a view rendered in new browser

  Hi, Can anyone advise if its possible to pass data via JQUERY to an ASP.NET MVC controller action and have a view rendered in new browser tab based on the model data passed to the action method. My scenario is that I have a Jqgrid populated with product info on a page. The user would tick the items in the grid that they would like a label produced for. After they've made their slection they would click a button and I would like (if possible) to render a view of that contains a label for each selected item and have the view render in a new browser tab. All the code to allow the selections and post the relevant data back to the action method is all working fine and I know its easy to use the Jquery $(selector).load() command to populate an element on the current page with the HTML returned from the action. But is it possible to populate an element on a page in a new browser tab. If it is how would I go about it? Hope this make sense.

  I'm currently looking at various middleware solutions that will allow me to create applications in a variety of languages which are able to communicate amongst each other. The ZeroC product suite seems ideal as it provides a language agnostic way of defining data and the services that operate on the data (via its ICE idl) and provides support for all the mainstream languages. It also appears to offer a lot of other things we'd want, such as load balancing, grid computing and managed deployment. However, my google-fu has let me down and I'm having trouble finding information from people who have used it to implements system. I'm looking for feedback from projects that use it, and what issues/successes they had. I'm also interested in feedback from projects that evaluated it and chose not to use it (and why).

  Hello, i'm following some flex tutorials everything's working as wanted expected for one thing : When i use my function getServerByBrand($brand) there is no returned data into my datagrid and i don't know why because it uses the same schema as getAllserver() which is working .   I am trying to develop a map editor in java. My map window receives as a constructor a Map object. From that map object i am able to retrieve the Grid and every item in the grid along with other getters and setters. The problem is that even though the Mapping extends JComponent, when I place it in a panel it is not painted. I have overridden the paint method to satisfy my needs.   Is there any way to make two controls that are in different containers the same size in WPF? For example, suppose you have two textboxes: textbox1 and textbox2. Textbox1 is in a grid and its size can grow and shrink when the user resizes the window. Textbox2 is in another part of the window and I need it to always have the same size as textbox1. Is there any way to do this? Keep in mind SharedSizeGroup will not work because the textboxes are in different containers. Also, I've tried binding textbox2's height property to textbox1 and that doesn't seem to work either. Finally, I tried catching textbox1's SizeChanged event, but its Height property is always NaN for some reason.

• WPF, animate over container boundaries

  Hi, I'm learning WPF and have a specific goal. Imagine you have a grid (3 rows by 3 columns), and a control, say a simple blue rectangle fills the middle cell. When I click on the cell I want the square to rotate smoothly through 180 degrees. The specific issue I have at the moment is; as the rectangle rotates, it won't change its dimensions, so it will extend beyond the boundary of the cell. I don't want it to clip, i want it to appear on top, partially obscuring surrounding cells. The second part of this is, if there is one cell that fills the entire window, and I click on the blue rectangle in that cell, can I make the rectangle rotate and extend beyond the sides of the form? If that doesn't make sense, please ask. I'm finding it hard to google because I don't know the exact terms I should be using. Thank you

  I am using the ASP.NET3.5 gridview control in a new project. My problem is that the gridview presents data in basic tabular format, whereas I want a grid with row header / grouping behaviors. An example of this would be Outlook web interface, which can group emails by date, as well as allowing you to select individual emails to display. My problem: I can't see how this could be easily done with Gridview? I did find a product called Telerik that has a seemingly fancy Gridview, but I am hesitant to spend money on a single components that now also locks me into a third-party framework...

• WPF UC in Winforms occasionally has an odd border to the left / visually corrupted

  I have a WPF user control I created that is used to show the state of tasks in my UI. I get the odd report back that the control sometimes has a nasty looking border to the left and I cannot reproduce it. The control looks like this (when working) (grey tick=not run, green=OK,red cross=fail,hourglass=running); It looks like this when the problem occurs; It may have something to do with the layering of those icons, when the state changes the others are made invisible and the relevant icon is made visible. The four icons are all stacked on top of each other. It could also be the background in theory, which I'll look at next. Problem is reported on both flat panel and CRT displays. Any guidance greatly appreciated. Update: 1) SnapsToDevicePixels does not affect the issue. 2) Grid is not used, only a canvas.

I tried different values for format (mm,%m) but all these gives the same output.

• Capture Silverlight 4 event when panel clicked

  I have a small Silverlight 4 app that essentially consists of a grid containing a label and a combo box. When I click the label, I replace it with a second text box so that I can edit the label (much the way you can edit the name of a Silverlight control in VS2010). I have a LostFocus event handler on the text box that will end editing when the control loses focus (restoring the updated label). Trouble is, users tend to click on the panel when they are done editing rather than on another control (or hitting Enter, which is also supported). I tried adding a left mouse down event handler to the panel. However, that only fires when the text box does not have the focus (I guess the text box captured the mouse?) Is there an approach to recognize that a non-input control was clicked that would enable me to terminate edit mode?
