  Hi guys, i'm using the jquery cookie plugin. Everything works fine except the fact that I have no idea how to set an expiration-time for the cookie? $.cookie('opt_visible', 'true'); the jquery-cookie documentation says: hoursToLive (DEPRECATED for expiresAt) NUMBER For how many hours should the cookie be valid? (Passing 0 means to delete the cookie at the end of the browser session--this is default. Negative values will delete the cookie, but you should use the del() method instead.) That's exactly what I'd like to have. The cookie should be available as long as i'm browsing the site. As soon as i close the window or browsertab, the cookie should be deleted. How can i implement this hoursToLive thingy to my mentioned line above? Thank you

• How to set up Django app to make cookies work on subdomain

  Hi, I have deployed my application on subdomain.domain.com (it works only on that one subdomain). Everything works fine except the fact that from time to time users cannot log in to application (the message "Looks like your browser isn't configured to accept cookies. Please enable cookies, reload this page, and try again" is shown when trying to log into admin panel). I've noticed that restarting the web server eliminates this problem for some time. Does anyone have experience with setting up django project on subdomain and can guide me how to configure my application to make it work correctly without need to ocasionally make reset?

  I know this isn't really what XPath is for but if I have a HashMap of XPath expressions to values how would I go about building an XML document. I've found dom-4j's DocumentHelper.makeElement(branch, xpath) except it is incapable of creating attributes or indexing. Surely a library exists that can do this? • Imagick: gifs, and background color

  Hi, I have 2 questions about using the php imagick class that I can't get working properly... 1.) I tried resizing / cropping a gif, and treated it as a normal image. It seemed to work, except that a few frames in the middle of the animation contained a small patch of artifacts. Is there a setting that should be used when working with multi-frame gifs? 2.) Is there a simple command to resize images if they are too small by just adding a background? For instance, if an image is 10x10, could I add a white background, and have a 100x100px image with the original in the upper left corner? Thanks for any help!

  Hi guys. I'm using Codeigniter for a small project, and my model works correctly except for the dates. I have a column defined: created_at datetime not null and my model code includes in its array passed into db-insert: 'created_at' = time() This produces a datetime value of 0000-00-00 00:00:00. When I change it to: 'created_at' = "from_unixtime(" . time() . ")" it still produces the 0 datetime value. What am I doing wrong? How can I set this field to the given unix time? Also, I know mysql sets TIMESTAMP columns automatically for you - I'm not interested in that solution here. So far I can't find a complete example of this on the web.

• How to Invoke iPhone Maps for Directions with Current Location as Start Address

I know it's possible to start the iPhone maps application by calling openURL on a google maps URL with parameters saddr and daddr with location strings or LatLong (see ex. below), but I'm wondering if it's possible to make the start address be the "Current Location" maps bookmark so that I can use the maps app's location handling code. My Google search has been pretty fruitless. ex: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat: @"http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=%@&daddr=%@", myLatLong, latlong]]]; Except with something to invoke the current location bookmark in place of myLatLong.   I finally got this google maps page working however, it seems that everybody except the client can see it? They're saying the following error message appears "This web site needs a different Google Maps API key. A new key can be generated at..." • Visual Studio 2008 Macro for Building does not block thread

It builds, but it is not blocking the thread so the external tool gets kicked off before it can finish. Is there a way I can run ExecuteCommand and wait for the thread to finish? Right now the only ways I can see of commenting out code are to either start every line with a #, or to enclose the code in """ (triple quotes), except that actually makes it show up in various doc tools. Edit--After reading the answers (and referring to the "duplicate"), I have concluded the correct answer is "No". One person said so, and the rest lectured us about editors.   Hi, I'm using jQuery UI, sortable on an ul element. All good, except over time the data in my li elements has become table like, in the sense there are multiple columns of data. They aren't aligning correctly because this seems to be hard to do in ul, and indeed not what ul's are designed for. I have 2 choices the way I see Work out some really cool css to make my ul / li format nicely Work out how to convert this to a sortable table With option 2., looking at a few plugins that exist (tablednd for example), they seem very old. • Detect LaTeX class name

  I'm working on a LaTeX package which might need to do some things differently depending on the class that's being used. I'm wondering if there's a way to auto-detect or test the document class. One could certainly look up the class files and test for the existence of a specific macro defined by that class, but is there a smarter way? I looked at the definition of the \ProvidesClass macro and can't see if it saves the class name anywhere except \@currname. I believe \@currname is just the name of the current package or class being read. Basically I want to execute \author{\longauthorname} in the article class but \author[\shortauthorname]{\longauthorname} in the beamer class.

  I am not really a fan of code golf, but I have to wonder, is there an esoteric language designed for it? I mean a language with following properties: Common programs may be expressed in very short amount of characters It uses ASCII character set effectively (for example, common operators are not identifiers, so they don't have to be separated by whitespace, character usage is distributed more or less evenly because we cannot use Huffman coding and so on) Except the terse syntax, it should have very expressible and clean semantics (like, let's say, Python or Scheme); it shouldn't be difficult to program in It doesn't need features for large scale programs, such as OOP, but it definitely should allow custom functions and data structures It should have a large standard library, identifiers in this library should be as short as possible Maybe it should be called CG? Languages that can be a source of inspiration are Forth, APL and Joy.

• SQL Server Express 2008 Stored Procedure execution time spikes periodically

  I have a big stored procedure on a SQL Server 2008 Express SP2 database that gets run about every 200 ms. Normal execution time is about 50ms. What I am seeing is large inconsistencies in this run time. It will execute for while, say 50-100 times at 40-60ms which is expected, then seemingly at random the same stored procedure will take way longer, say 900ms or 1.5 seconds to run. Sometimes more than one call of the same procedure in a row will take longer too. It appears that something is causing sql server to slow down dramatically every minute or so, but I can't figure out what. There is no timing pattern between the occurences. I have the same setup on two different computers, one of which is a clean XP Pro load with no virus checking and nothing installed except SQL server. Also, The recovery options for all the databases are set to "Simple".

  I have 2 datatables sendTable and recvTable They both have identical column names and numbers of columns "NODE" "DSP Name" "BUS" "IDENT" "STATION" "REF1" "REF2" "REF3" "REF4" "REF5" "REF6" "REF7" "REF8" I need to compare these 2 tables and separate out the mismatches I only need to check Columns 3-11 and Ignore col 1 and 2 I tried at first removing the 2 columns and then loop thru row by row and return matches and mismatches but the problem with this approach is that I no longer have the "NODE" and "DSP Name" associated with the row when I finalize my results So I need help with a query Here is my attempt var samerecordQuery = from r1 in sendTable.AsEnumerable() where r1.Field<int>("BUS").Equals(from r2 in recvTable.AsEnumerable() where r2.Field<int>("BUS")) this obviously doesn't work so how do I format the query to say from r1 cols[3-11] equals r2 cols [3-11] and once I have this I can use the except to pull out the mismatches

• Weird Behavior with Jquery image slideshow... Help!

  I built a jquery slideshow based on the tutorial found here: http://www.queness.com/post/152/simple-jquery-image-slide-show-with-semi-transparent-caption It seems to be working perfectly fine, except that it behaves strangley right at the beginning when it displays the first image. The first image appears like normal and then flashes, fades to white and disappears completely. After that, the first slide reappears and behaves normally, transitioning to the next image. The slideshow in question is center page on the right: http://www.loftist.com/ I am not a JS developer, so I am not sure how to troubleshoot this problem.   Hi! I've just started using Google's search API to find addresses and the distances between those addresses. I used geopy for this, but, I often had the problem of not getting the correct addresses for my queries. I decided to experiment, therefore, with Google's "Local Search" (http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxsearch/local.html). Anyway, I wanted to ask if I could use the "Local Search" objects provided by the API within python. Something tells me that I can't and that I have to use json. Does anyone know if there is a work around? PS: Im trying to make something like this: http://www.google.com/uds/samples/random/lead.html ... except a matrix type deal where the insides will be filled with distances between the addresses.   I've written a url validator for a project I am working on. For my requirements it works great, except when the last part for the url goes longer than 22 characters it breaks. My expression: /((https?):\/\/)([^\s.]+.)+([^\s.]+)(:\d+\/\S+)/i It expects input that looks like "http(s)://hostname:port/location". When I give it the input: https://demo10:443/111112222233333444445 it works, but if I pass the input https://demo10:443/1111122222333334444455 it breaks. You can test it out easily at http://ryanswanson.com/regexp/#start. Oddly, I can't reproduce the problem with just the relevant (I would think) part /(:\d+\/\S+)/i. I can have as many characters after the required / and it works great. Any ideas or known bugs?

  Since there are so many valid characters for email addresses, are there any valid email addresses that can in themselves be XSS attacks or SQL injections? I couldn't find any information on this on the web. The local-part of the e-mail address may use any of these ASCII characters: Uppercase and lowercase English letters (a–z, A–Z) Digits 0 to 9 Characters ! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` { | } ~ Character . (dot, period, full stop) provided that it is not the last character, and provided also that it does not appear two or more times consecutively (e.g. [email protected]). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_address#RFC_specification I'm not asking how to prevent these attacks (I'm already using parametrized queries and HTML purifier), this is more a proof-of-concept. The first thing that came to mind was 'OR [email protected], except that spaces are not allowed. Do all SQL injections require spaces?

• View controller/NIB architecture for non-navigation application with transitions?

  I'm tinkering with an app that doesn't use the UINavigation root view control system, so I don't have natural ownership for each app "view". I essentially have two basic views, a document list view, and a document edit view. I'm playing with UIView animation for getting from a selected document to the edit view. I also have a toolbar that exists in both "views". Because I don't have UINavigation running the show for me, I have a tendency to just throw more and more stuff into one NIB and one view controller that owns the whole container. But now I'm trying to figure out how to segue from the document list view to the edit view if the edit view lives inside a different NIB, preserving the toolbar too. Anyone have thoughts or experience on app structures like this? I find the docs lacking on best practices around code/UI structure for anything except trivial one-screen apps or full-on navigation apps. Thanks!
