  hi everyone, i would like to know how to convert byte array into key. i am doing an AES encryption/decryption. instead of generating a key, i would like to use my generated byte array. byte[] clientCK = Milenage.f3(sharedSecret16, RANDbytes, opc); let say i have a byte array called clientCK, stated above. i want to use it in AES encryption as shown below. • Convert db data encoding to UTF-8

  Hi, I use Sql Server 2000 and I inserted some data in hebrew to a table. I need to access this data through an iPhone app using an ASP page that query the table. The problem is that in the iPhone app the Hebrew is shown as strange signs. I think my problem is that the data that is generated from my db isn't in UTF-8 but in USC-2 Any suggestions how to convert the data from my db to utf so it will be readable on the iPhone? 10x.

• Application compiled by Flex Builder 3 does not trace

  I've built a simple application in Flex Builder 3 with some trace() calls. It's an "ActionScript Project", no MXML or AIR involved. I don't run the app from within Eclipse, I just open the generated html file with Firefox. I'm using the Flash Player 10 Debug version. I've correctly set mm.cnf to log trace output, following the official instructions. A flashlog.txt file is generate in the appropriate location. Despite all that, trace output is not shown in the log file. What am I doing wrong? (I suspect it's a compiler option, but I can find no such option in the project options in FlexBuilder) (If I do run the app from Eclipse, by pressing F11, I can see trace output but only inside Eclipse, not in the log file)

• Entity Framework Performance Inconsistency Compared to Sql Management Studio

  I'm getting timeouts with a very basic EF statement. I'm simply doing a select from a single table with a Entity.Title.StartsWith("test") and a .Take(25). When I run this for a search that returns no results I get a timeout. If I profile and grab the sql statement it looks fine, and if I run that sql in Management Studio it runs in a fraction of a second! Why would the same query run sub-second in Management Studio and timeout when generated by EF and called from an Asp.Net app?

  Hello, I'm currently building a web application. In one of it's key processes the application need to match short phrases to other similar ones available in the DB. The application needs to be able to match the phrase: Looking for a second hand car in good shape To other phrases which basically have the same meaning but use different wording, such as: 2nd hand car in great condition needed or searching for a used car in optimal quality The phrases are length limited (say 250 chars), user generated & unstructured. I have a page that contains dynamically generated Dropdown List controls and I want thant the dynamic dropdown list perform an AutoPostback to fill some other field using the value selected. I put a breakpoint into the ChangeValue sub but anything happens. I read on some post that handler for the first DropDownList is not necessary but, how is it possible to tell DropDownList to call my sub after changevalue? • How do I invoke my custom settings provider?

  I need to specify a different location for my settings file. After many long hours of searching, I found out that I have to write my own SettingsProvider. I succeeded in creating one which allows me to specify a path for settings file via its constructor. Programatically, I can contruct it like this: var mycustomprovider = new CustomSettingsProvider(path); The problem I am having is that there's no way to invoke my custom provider. I can decorate the VS 2008 generated setting file with the following attribute: [SettingsProvider(typeof(CustomSettingProviders.CustomSettingsProvider))] internal sealed partial class Settings { } However, the attribute doesn't allow me to construct the object with a path. Also, I want to be able to set the SettingsProvider programmatically so that I can pass in any path I want at runtime and save my settings. The examples I've seen on the net have never mentioned how to use a invoke a SettingsProvider programmatically.

When I try to use ria service combined with EF 4.0, I want to get dataset by SP. This result is not mapped to any entity/table. Some sulutions suggested by community are: 1. Create view to map sp result. (but for EF, if there is no ID or primary, can't be map to any entity) 2. Create Entity to map sp result.(for this, you even need to map SP for CRUD even though I don't need CUD on this sp result) Also above solution can't be automated. As Database objects maybe changed with the time, auto update edm will lost above solution. So what's the solution? I want to put data operation back to DB as possible, so that many changes can be done in DB and no need to rebuild .net assemblies(this cause redeploy).

It does update my web.config file, but not code files.   All, I'm a little new to WCF over IIS but have done some ASMX web services before. My WCF service is up and running but the helper page generated by the web service for me has the default names, i.e. the page that says: You have created a service. To test this service, you will need to create a client and use it to call the service. You can do this using the svcutil.exe tool from the command line with the following syntax: svcutil.exe http://localhost:53456/ServicesHost.svc?wsdl In a standard ASMX site I would use method/class attributes to give the web service a name and a namespace. When I click on the link the WSDL has: <wsdl:definitions name="SearchServices" targetNamespace="http://tempuri.org/" i.e. not the WCF Service Contract Name and Namespace from my Interface. I assume the MEX is using some kind of default settings but I'd like to change them to be the correct names. How can I do this?

The problem is that in one field i have values like this: <a href="http://google.com">Google</a> and when i export the table in html format the generated html table for this fields contains: &lt;a href=&quot;http://google.com&quot;&gt;Google&lt;/a&gt; which is not a valid html link.   Hi, I am using PHP Crypt_RSA (http://pear.php.net/package/Crypt_RSA) for encrypting and decrypting the contents. Contents are of 1kb size. Following are the results: keylength = 1024 Encryption function takes time: 225 secs keylength = 2048 Encryption function takes time: 115 secs I need to reduce this execution time as most of the live apache servers have 120 sec limit for execution time. How to reduce this execution time? RSA alorithm docs says the only 1024 - 2048 keys are generated. I ACTUALLY tried to generate larger key, but it always results in execution timeout. I basically need to have a layout setup that means I can output invoices just by inserting the data, and then send it to a printer. The closest I've found so far is PDFB, but It's a bit of a pain as it needs to have precise positioning. • Displaying local images in the web browser control

  Hi, I am writing a Windows Forms application and am creating a report for users to view in the webBrowser control. The problem is that it does not seem to display an image which is situated on my local hard drive, it just display the "broken image" red cross symbol. The path of the image is correct and when I view the source code of the generated html in either Firefox or Chrome it works but not in Internet Explorer (which I presume it what is used for this webBrowser control).   Can the browser feature of contrl+F to find text be integrated with text in popup windows. I'd like to have some scientific reference information given when someone hovers over a species name in a web page. Generating the popup, tooltip style text is no problem, the problem is that anyone using Ctrl+F won't be able to find it, or if I position the text out of view when not required, it will be found but be invisible. The same sort of effect applies to "accordion" style expanding text areas. I'm looking for some sort of event generated when find is highlighting a result.

  Using the user's currentLocale from the device, I want to have a date format exactly like the one generated for NSDateFormatterFullStyle minus the year: [dateFormatter setDateStyle:NSDateFormatterFullStyle]; Friday, 21 September (2012) I've noticed the iPhone app, Living Earth does this and works for all locales, so does the iPhone lock screen. A custom formatter such as, [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEEE, MMMM"]; won't change with localisation. Can anyone shed some light on how to accomplish this? Therefore, we did a sync and then this to flush the cache and buffers: echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches and directly afterwards the I/O wait and service times virtually went through the roof, and everything on the machine felt like slow motion. During the next few hours the latency recovered and everything was as before - small to medium lags in short, unpredictable intervals. Now my question is: does anybody have any idea what might cause this annoying behaviour? Is it the first indication of the disk array or the raid controller dying, or something that can be easily mended by rebooting? (At the moment we're very reluctant to do this, however, because we're afraid that the disks might not come back up again.) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris. Edited to add: we do see one or two processes go to 'D' state in top, one of which seems to be kjournald rather frequently. If I'm not mistaken, however, this does not indicate the processes causing the latency, but rather those affected by it - correct me if I'm wrong. • SubSonic IQueryable To String Array

  Hey All, I have decided to use SubSonic (v3.0) for the first time and thoroughly enjoy it so far however I seem to have stumbled and I am hoping there is a nice neat solution. I have a users, roles and joining table. SubSonic (ActiveRecord) generated an entity User for my users table. A property of User is UserRoles and is of the type IQueryable this is my joining table. I want to convert the IQueryable column name RoleName to a string array. I have only just started playing with Linq as well and know of ToArray() but seem to be missing something or this isn't the function I want. I could iterate over each item in the UserRoles property but seems a little excessive. I appreciate your help! Cheers.

  For example, I alter a column in a table to be not null from null. I need to then delete and readd the table. That part is pretty clear. What about views, functions, and stored procedures that access the table, especially that column in the table? I've tried running diffs against the files generated by SQLMetal with some limited success, but even with that it's fairly unclear. I know there is at least one commercial tool out there that claims to address this problem, but I am looking for something free. How are people dealing with this issue?

• Including a JSP Page Programatically

  I need to include a JSP page in a Tag class. I believe the standard way to include a JSP page within another JSP page using API is this: request.getRequestDispatcher("included.jsp").include(request, response); However, I noticed that the included page is rendered at the top of the generated page, no matter where the code is located. On the other hand, the <jsp:include> action works as expected, rendering the included page where the tag appears in the JSP file. How do I include a JSP page in a class so that it behaves the same as the <jsp:include>? There's no way to invoke the <jsp:include> action within a Tag class, is there?
