Hi,
is it possible that my mingw 3.4.5 installation is faulty? or is this provided on some other library floating around?
in case you are wondering, dlfcn.h is where stuff like dlopen and dlclose are defined, so it should be pretty standard
How can I measure programmatically (not query the OS, but measure) the size and order of associativity of L1 and L2 caches (data caches)?
Assumptions about system:
It has L1 and L2 cache (may be L3 too, may be cache sharing),
It may have a hardware prefetch unit (just like P4+),
It has a stable clocksource (tickcounter or good HPET for gettimeofday).
There are no assumptions about OS (it can be Linux, Windows, or something non-standard), and we can't use POSIX queries.
Language is C. And compiler optimizations may be disabled.
I wonder what is the best C# data structure I should use to sort efficiently?
Is it List or Array or what?
And why the standard array [] does not implement sort method in it?
Thanks
Hi,
I want to show a PDF document from a Java (Swing) application in a system independent manner (provided that a PDF viewer is properly installed on the target system).
Also I'd like to deploy this PDF document using Java WebStart.
Could you please tell me the "standard" way to achieve this? (I confess, I'm to lazy/busy to look up the details ...) Thanks!
I have just created a new Telerik report, and set its page size to A4, portrait, yet the default page width is 140mm, way short of the A4 standard 210mm. What is going on with the report or the report designer?
I'm using DHH's auto_complete plugin, but am in the process of updating my dependencies on plugins to gems where feasible. Is there a newer, gemified version of this library, or has another solution emerged as the de facto standard?
Hi, I'm using DeviceAtlas to detect mobile phones, I was wondering if anyone had some good resources in terms of standard codecs, video dimensions that are used and how you go about serving video to mobile devices.
Thanks!

Hello,
I have made an iPhone app with localized versions. It mostly works fine, but there are two views in which localized NIBs do not load. Standard NIBs (in English) are used. I am sure I made localization properly ("Get Info", "Make file localizable", "Add Localization", added "pl" - for Polish, and then edited created NIB). All the other views are fine. What might be the problem?
Thanks for helping me.
I have a program that generates a .shp file, and exports this as a kml file. I would like to be able to display my output using the standard google map 'map' style (gray background, yellow streets, etc) in google earth.
Is there a style guide or method that I should be using?
Any thoughts appreciated - I wasn't sure how to structure this question.
Thank you.
I saw this question
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2021716/inject-into-private-package-or-public-field-or-provide-a-setter
about how to manually inject into annotated private fields (The way is adding setters
or through a constructor)
But, the point is how do an application server (like glassfish, axis2, jboss, ...)
is able to inject into a final private field (without adding setters or constructors
to the user class)?
Quoting the cited question:
public SomeClass {
@Inject
private SomeResource resource;
}
Do they use a customized JVM (not the standard one) that allows to access private fields?
Thanks
I have a bit of text
"this is the text want I want to do is replace the text, I have just added another is for good measure"
This is stored as a standard string but I want to turn this into html and add css classes like, in this example wrapping around the word "is";
"this is the text want I want to do
is replace the text, I have just added another is for good measure"
Any ideas how I can do this in as3?
Does anybody know how to activate the google mobile sync in standard edition?
Every time i try to save the checked "enable google sync" checkbox, the checkbox is unchecked again after reloading...
Is there another way for doing this? I cant use my calendar, contacts, email on my iphone - very nasty!!!
Thanks!
A potential client is asking me if I can generate a thumbnail image from .eps and .ai files. The standard .NET Image class is not able to do this, so I suppose I need a 3rd party API, but I am not sure what is the best approach. Any ideas?

I have a callout which displays details of a point using a custom view, how can I prevent my mapview from being reloaded when I navigate back to it using the standard navigationcontroller ui devices?
Hey I have this program that has been working fine until I tried to open this one wav file? Not sure what the problem is or that I understand it? Do I need to find a new component to use for this file or what? I am using Delphi 4 Pro and the standard VCL component for Media Player. I am looking for a good new component that offers more help with wav and mp3 files too but not found what I am looking for yet?
I have a situation where I think I need to daisy chain my xslt transformation (i.e. that output of one xslt transform being input into another). The first transform is rather complex with lots of xsl:choice and ancestor xpaths. My thought is to transform the xml into xml that can then be easily transformed to html.
My question is 'Is this standard practice or am I missing something?'
Thanks in advance.

I'm using Django on Appengine. I'm using the django reverse() function everywhere, keeping everything as DRY as possible.
However, I'm having trouble applying this to my client-side javascript. There is a JS class that loads some data depending on a passed-in ID. Is there a standard way to not-hardcode the URL that this data should come from?
var rq = new Request.HTML({
'update':this.element,
}).get('/template/'+template_id+'/preview'); //The part that bothers me.
Is there a way to programmatically invoke the keypad "click" sound? My app has a custom keypad (built out of UIButtons) and I'd like to provide some audio feedback when the user taps on the keys. I tried creating my own sounds in Garageband, but wasn't happy with any of my creations. If there isn't a standard way to invoke the key click, can anyone point me to a library of sounds that might have such a gem?
Can we do matrix transpose (rows become columns and columns become rows) in standard SQL?
1 2 3 4 5
4 5 6 6 7
7 8 9 8 9
1 3 4 5 6
2 4 5 6 7
changes to
1 4 7 1 2
2 5 8 3 4
3 6 9 5 6
4 6 8 5 6
5 7 9 6 7
how about no of rows < no of column ?
let's consider the no of rows it's fixed.
Is there any 'easy' way of having pure objective-c containers, such as NSMutableDictionary or CFMutableDictionary, that don't increment the reference count of added objects, without using the c++ standard library?
CakePHP's built in pagination helpers automatically allow column ordering in the view. If you bake the view you get a link on each column to order it by that data.
Is there a way to get this functionality in Rails? The standard will paginate doesn't offer it, anyone know any good ones?
I would like to know how and if I can add standard HTML elements (div, button) to a specific set of coordinates on the map ?
For example I have a set of coordinates and I would like to attach a custom balloon notification to them
and when I pan away from the coordinates the element should disappear and when I pan back to them, the element should reappear.
Is it possible to do this with Google Maps ?
I have a python list as
[
(A,{'a':1,'b':2,'c':3,'d':4}),
B,{'a':1,'b':2,'c':3,'d':4}),
...
]
I want to know if there is a standard library of serializing this kind of list to xml or should I hand code it to a file.
I'm using the batik transcoder for svgs, and every time I convert an SVG image, it produces output on standard out. I'm assuming it's using a logging package of some kind. How do I disable this output?
