  • Setting bluetooth passcode on a HP Notebook

    I've got a HP Compaq nx6320 & I just installed the HP bluetooth drivers (WinXP) and I'm trying to pair my Samsung Windows Mobile phone with it, but when I do, the phone asks me to enter the passcode for the computer, but I never set one in the install process & I've got no idea how to set it now. Does anyone know where this option is?

  • Outlook 2007 won't close

    I use Outlook 2007 at home as an IMAP client and RSS feed reader. I have a problem that when I close outlook, the window exits, but the process remains running. This prevents me from opening outlook again and on Win7 prevents rapid shutdown of my computer. How can I have Outlook 2007 exit for real?   • network is not available even when cisco vpn client is connected. wrong route?

I've disabled other network devices in the system (ethernet, wifi, wimax) turned off firewall and antivirus. cisco vpn client connects successfully but I still can not access computer 192.168.147.120 (as well as any other computer from network).     I have a new monitor which I'm sharing between two computers: a laptop with Windows 7 (Win7 from now on) and a home assembled desktop with Windows Developer Preview (WinDev from now on). Win7 recognizes the monitor resolution of 1920x1080, and many others. WinDev doesn't; the best resolution I get on that OS is 1600x1200.   • Internet Connection Sharing, can't Share Wireless

    I'm using Windows XP, and I've been trying to setup my laptop so that I can connect to the internet connection that I get on the laptop through my mobile on an ad-hoc network. I've set up an ad-hoc network, but when I try to select "allow other users to connect through this computers internet connection", the only options I have are the Local Area Connections. The tutorial I've been using says that Wireless Connection should be in that pull down menu. Any help?

  • An alternative to Google Talk, AIM, MSN, et al [closed]

    I'm not entirely sure whether this part of stack exchange is the most adequate for my question, but it would seem to me that people sharing this kind of concern would converge either here, or possibly on a more unix-specific sub site. Either way, here goes. Background Feel free to skip to The Question, below. This should, however, help those interested understand where I'm coming from, and where I expect to get, messaging-wise. My online talking place-to-go has been IRC for the last fifteen years. I think it's a great protocol, and clients out there are very good. I still use, and will always continue to use IRC for most of my chat needs. But then, there is private instant messaging. While IRC can solve this with queries and DCC chats, the protocol just isn't meant to work too well on intermittent connections, such as a mobile device, where you can often walk around places with low signal. I used MSN for a while, but didn't like it. The concept was awesome, but I think Microsoft didn't get the implementation quite right. When they started adding all that eye candy, and my buddies started flooding me with custom icons and buzzing my screen to it's knees, I shut my account and told folks that missed me to just email or call me. Much whining happened, I got called many weird things for not using MSN, but folks eventually got over it. Next, Google Talk came along, and seemed to be a lot better than MSN ever was. The protocol was open, so I could use whatever client I felt a fancy for. With the advent of smart phones, I just got myself a gtalk client on the phone, and have had a really decent integrated mostly-universal IM solution. Over the last few months, all Google services have been feeling flaky. IMs will often arrive anywhere between twenty minutes and one hour after being sent, clients will randomly disconnect, client priorities seem to work sometimes, and sometimes just a random device of those connected will get an IM. I think the time has come to look for greener grass. The Question It's rather hard to put what I'm looking for into precise words. I guess I just want something that is kind of like MSN/Gtalk, but that doesn't let me down when I need it. IRC is pretty much perfect, but the protocol just isn't designed to work well on mobile devices. Really, at this point I'm considering sticking to IRC for desktop messaging, and SMS/email on the phone, but I hope that in this day and age there is something better out there.

  • need major webcam help for project!!

    hey guys i have a porject where i have to be able to view my webcam on my mobile phone, which happens to be a blackberry bold 9700 but can also get a hold of an i pod touch so either phone is ok to use. the problem that i have is that everytime i do a search for help on this i end up with a program which enevitably asks for money and this is not allowd in the project, ive been trying to stream using vlc player and viewing it on the opera mini for blackberry but no such luck so far, any help would be great thanks a lot

    Hi everybody, Running BES 5.0, with an Salesforce Mobile application push. Works fine. We don't want the users to download and install other applications, so we disable this by a BES policy (disable Third Party Software Downloads). But when we disable this, the application push does not work anymore. Does anybody know/have experience with making an exception for certain applications or an exception for applications that are provided by application push from the BES?     I'm trying to determine if there is any buffer of time from the time a password expires in AD to the time that users would stop receiving email on their mobile devices our setup is Exchange 2007 ActiveSync DC's are Server 2008 R2 primarily Android shop, with maybe a few iOS devices I've heard some rumors of people still receiving email after their password expired / changed on the domain, just want to see if anyone else has ever heard of this. Did a bit more reading, read about Token Cache in IIS 7.0 and 15min lagtime, still would like to hear any thoughts about this.

    An ISP doesn't offer secure/encrypted POP3/SMTP connections to its email servers. (I could forward the mail to another mail service that does, but I'd like to try a proxy) Is there some simple software that could be run on a linux box to allow secure SSL POP3/SMTP connections to it, and transparently proxy/connect to the ISP email servers? This is to allow wireless mobile devices more secure access their email without needing the full vpn.
