  • Reference-counted object is used after it is released

    - by EndyVelvet
Doing code analysis of the project and get the message "Reference-counted object is used after it is released" on the line [defaults setObject: deviceUuid forKey: @ "deviceUuid"]; I watched this topic Obj-C, Reference-counted object is used after it is released? But the solution is not found. ARC disabled. // Get the users Device Model, Display Name, Unique ID, Token & Version Number UIDevice *dev = [UIDevice currentDevice]; NSString *deviceUuid; if ([dev respondsToSelector:@selector(uniqueIdentifier)]) deviceUuid = dev.uniqueIdentifier; else { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; id uuid = [defaults objectForKey:@"deviceUuid"]; if (uuid) deviceUuid = (NSString *)uuid; else { CFStringRef cfUuid = CFUUIDCreateString(NULL, CFUUIDCreate(NULL)); deviceUuid = (NSString *)cfUuid; CFRelease(cfUuid); [defaults setObject:deviceUuid forKey:@"deviceUuid"]; } } Please help find the cause.

  • Getting invalid context errors

    - by Andrew
    I don't have much code thus far, only this to start: UIGraphicsBeginImageContextWithOptions(bounds.size, NO, 0); CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGMutablePathRef outerPath; CGMutablePathRef highlightPath; CGRect outerRect = rectForRectWithInset(bounds, 1); CGRect highlightRect = CGRectMake(outerRect.origin.x, outerRect.origin.y + 1, outerRect.size.width, outerRect.size.height); And then the problematic bit, which when commented out, the error goes away: CGContextSaveGState(context); CGContextAddPath(context, highlightPath); CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(context, [[UIColor colorWithWhite:1.0 alpha:0.05]CGColor]); CGContextFillPath(context); CGContextRestoreGState(context); Below that is simply: UIImage *image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext();

  • Better product to develop for, iPad or Android based tablet in a purely business related application

    - by Caylem
Hey guys Just wondering what you'd suggest as the best platform for developing a business application for a tablet device. The application needs to be multitouch, have access to a maps API, a database on the device. It will not be going on sale in the app store or Androids market, it is purely for specific business task and not for the general consumer. Obviously the options seem to be iPhone OS and the iPad or Android and an Android tablet device. The form factor for the end product requires something in the region of 8 inch+ screen and enough processing power to provide a good experience for the end user. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Automatically hide toolbar when it is not in use.

    - by Koning WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I am creating a Cocoa Application for Mac OS 10.6 , and I want to hide the toolbar of an NSWindow automatically when it is not in use for at least 30 seconds. I think this can be done with NSTimers, but I'm not familiar with them and I don't know how I can implement this. Another problem is that both the NSToolbarDelegate and NSWindowDelegate protocols don't have delegate methods like toolbarDidShow: Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. PS. This is not to punish the user, but rather give the user a cleaner window (the window consist of only a toolbar for color and font and a text-view). PPS. Can the hide-toolbar-animation lead into a problem with the cursor while the user is typing?

  • Render only a portion of a PDF on iPhone/iPad

    - by Infinity
Hello guys! I am rendering my pdf in an UIView's drawRect method. Here's my code: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect2 { NSString *filename = @"lol.pdf"; CFStringRef path = CFStringCreateWithCString (NULL, [filename UTF8String], kCFStringEncodingUTF8); CFURLRef url = CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPath (NULL, path, kCFURLPOSIXPathStyle, 0); CGPDFDocumentRef pdf = CGPDFDocumentCreateWithURL(url); CGPDFPageRef page = CGPDFDocumentGetPage (pdf, 1); CGAffineTransform m; CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGRect aRect = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 1024); CGContextTranslateCTM(context, 0.0, aRect.size.height); CGContextScaleCTM(context, 1.0, -1.0); m = CGPDFPageGetDrawingTransform (page, kCGPDFMediaBox, aRect, 0, YES); CGContextSaveGState (context); CGContextConcatCTM (context, m); CGContextClipToRect (context,CGPDFPageGetBoxRect (page, kCGPDFCropBox)); CGContextDrawPDFPage (context, page); CGContextRestoreGState (context); } It renders the whole pdf. How can I render only a part from it? Can you help me with it?

  • populate uipicker view with results from core data DB using an NSArray

    - by Chris
I am trying to populate a UIPickerView with the results of a NSFetchRequest. The results of the NSFetchRequest are then stored in an NSArray. I am using Core Data to interact with the SQLite DB. I have a simple class file that contains a UIPickerView that is associated with a storyboard scene in my project. The header file for the class looks like the following, ViewControllerUsers.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "AppDelegate.h" @interface ViewControllerUsers : UIViewController <NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate, UIPickerViewDelegate, UIPickerViewDataSource> { NSArray *dictionaries; } @property (nonatomic, strong) NSFetchedResultsController *fetchedResultsController; // Core Data @property (strong, nonatomic) NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext; @property (nonatomic, strong) NSArray *users; @property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIPickerView *uiPickerViewUsers; @property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIBarButtonItem *btnDone; @property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIButton *btnChangePin; // added for testing purposes @property (nonatomic, strong) NSArray *usernames; - (IBAction)dismissScene:(id)sender; - (IBAction)changePin:(id)sender; @end The implementation file looks like the following, ViewControllerUsers.m #import "ViewControllerUsers.h" @interface ViewControllerUsers () @end @implementation ViewControllerUsers // Core Data @synthesize managedObjectContext = _managedObjectContext; @synthesize uiPickerViewUsers = _uiPickerViewUsers; @synthesize usernames = _usernames; - (id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil { self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil]; if (self) { // Custom initialization } return self; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view. // Core Data if (_managedObjectContext == nil) { _managedObjectContext = [(AppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate] managedObjectContext]; NSLog(@"After _managedObjectContext: %@", _managedObjectContext); } NSFetchRequest *request = [NSFetchRequest fetchRequestWithEntityName:@"Account"]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Account" inManagedObjectContext:_managedObjectContext]; request.resultType = NSDictionaryResultType; request.propertiesToFetch = [NSArray arrayWithObject:[[entity propertiesByName] objectForKey:@"username"]]; request.returnsDistinctResults = YES; _usernames = [_managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:nil]; NSLog (@"names: %@",_usernames); } -(NSInteger)numberOfComponentsInPickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView { //One column return 1; } -(NSInteger)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView numberOfRowsInComponent:(NSInteger)component { //set number of rows return _usernames.count; } -(NSString *)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView titleForRow:(NSInteger)row forComponent:(NSInteger)component { //set item per row return [_usernames objectAtIndex:row]; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } - (void)viewDidUnload { [self setBtnDone:nil]; [self setUiPickerViewUsers:nil]; [self setBtnChangePin:nil]; [super viewDidUnload]; } - (IBAction)dismissScene:(id)sender { [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } - (IBAction)changePin:(id)sender { } @end The current code is causing the app to crash, but the NSLog is show the results of the NSFetchRequest in the NSArray. I currently think that I am not formatting the results of the NSFetchRequest in the NSArray properly if I had to take a guess. The crash log looks like the following, 2013-06-26 16:49:24.219 KegCop[41233:c07] names: ( { username = blah; }, { username = chris; }, { username = root; } ) 2013-06-26 16:49:24.223 KegCop[41233:c07] -[NSKnownKeysDictionary1 isEqualToString:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xe54d9a0 2013-06-26 16:49:24.223 KegCop[41233:c07] Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[NSKnownKeysDictionary1 isEqualToString:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xe54d9a0' First throw call stack:

  • Using installed identity certificate from within an app on iPhone

    - by Sabi Tinterov
Hi, My question is: is there a way to use the installed identity certificates on the phone from within my app. For example similar case like with saffary: if certain site requires client certificate, the user has to install it on the phone and then when authenticating saffary uses the installed certificate to authenticate. I need to do the same: 1.User installs certificate on the phone. 2. The user starts the application and authenticates using the installed certificate. Thanks

  • Sqlite iPhone data insertion problem

    - by Asad Khan
Hi I have a function which basically tries to insert some data returned from a REST call. - (void)syncLocalDatabase{ NSString *file = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"pickuplines" ofType:@"db"]; NSMutableString *query = [[NSMutableString alloc] initWithFormat:@""]; sqlite3 *database = NULL; char *errorMsg = NULL; if (sqlite3_open([file UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { for(PickUpLine *pickupline in pickUpLines){ [query appendFormat:@"INSERT INTO pickuplines VALUES(%d,%d,%d,'%@','YES')", pickupline.line_id, pickupline.thumbsUps, pickupline.thumbsDowns, [pickupline.line stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"'" withString:@"`"]]; NSLog(query); int result = sqlite3_exec(database, [query UTF8String], NULL, NULL, &errorMsg); if (result!=SQLITE_OK) { printf("\n%s",errorMsg); sqlite3_free(errorMsg); } //sqlite3_step([query UTF8String]); [query setString:@""]; }//end for }//end if [query release]; sqlite3_close(database); } everything seems fine query string in log statement is also fine but the data does not gets inserted. Where as a counterpart of this function for select statement works well. Here is the counter part - (void)loadLinesFromDatabase{ NSString *file = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"pickuplines" ofType:@"db"]; sqlite3 *database = NULL; if (sqlite3_open([file UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { sqlite3_exec(database, "SELECT * FROM pickuplines", MyCallback, linesFromDatabase, NULL); } sqlite3_close(database); } I have implemented callback & it works fine. I am a little new to Sqlite can someone please point out what am I doing wrong. Thanx

  • Compile error on action for iPhone app: "error:expected ')' before ';' token"

    - by Jamis Charles
I'm working through the tutorials in the "Beginning iPhone Development" book. I'm on chapter 4 and I'm getting the following compile error on the "if (segment == kShowSegmentIndex)" line: error:expected ')' before ';' token Here's my code: - (IBAction)toggleShowHide:(id)sender{ UISegmentedControl *segmentedControl = (UISegmentedControl *)sender; NSInteger segment = segmentedControl.selectedSegmentIndex; if (segment == kShowSegmentIndex) [switchView setHidden:NO]; else [switchView setHidden:YES]; } I've compared it with the code in the book several times and have retyped it. Sounds like this error is caused by improper brace placement. Any thoughts?

  • Parsing NSXMLNode Attributes in Cocoa

    - by Jeffrey Kern
Hello everyone, Given the following XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <application name="foo"> <movie name="tc" english="tce.swf" chinese="tcc.swf" a="1" b="10" c="20" /> <movie name="tl" english="tle.swf" chinese="tlc.swf" d="30" e="40" f="50" /> </application> How can I access the attributes ("english", "chinese", "name", "a", "b", etc.) and their associated values of the MOVIE nodes? I currently have in Cocoa the ability to traverse these nodes, but I'm at a loss at how I can access the data in the MOVIE NSXMLNodes. Is there a way I can dump all of the values from each NSXMLNode into a Hashtable and retrieve values that way? Am using NSXMLDocument and NSXMLNodes.

  • Cocoa : How do I catch drag operations initiated from an IKBrowserView?

    - by bucketmouse
So I've got an IKBrowserView all wired up and happily dragging my custom datatype (provided lazily via PasteboardItem) from one window to another, but now I'm interested in detecting when the user drops some data onto the trashcan. Cocoa's documentation says to check the return type of the drag operation itself, but how exactly do I do this with an IKBrowserView? Once I call imageBrowser:writeItemsAtIndexes:toPasteboard: I don't seem to get any notifications other than the request for the pasteboard contents, which doesn't provide a pointer to the drag operation that invoked it.

  • My UITableView has duplicated rows

    - by Mark
Im not sure why, but my UITableView, which isnt anything fancy, is showing repeating rows when it shouldnt be. It seems that the rows that get added when the user scrolls (i.e. the rows that are off the screen to start with) are getting the data for the wrong row index. Its almost like when a new cell is de-queued, it's using a cell that 'was' used, but wasn't cleaned up correctly. Do you need to 'clean up' cells that are de-queue so that new cells dont use cells that are already created? my code is as below: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CustomCellIdentifier = @"CustomCellIdentifier"; MyDayCell *cell = (MyDayCell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: CustomCellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSArray *nib = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"MyDayCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id oneObject in nib) if ([oneObject isKindOfClass:[MyDayCell class]]) cell = (MyDayCell *)oneObject; } NSUInteger section = [indexPath section]; NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; NSArray *thisSectionItems = (NSArray*)[self.listData objectForKey: [[NSNumber alloc] initWithInt:section]]; MyDayDetails *rowData = [thisSectionItems objectAtIndex:row]; //setup my cells data here... return cell; } Is there anything wrong with this code? has anyone seen anything like this before?

  • how to set a tableview delegate

    - by dubbeat
Hi, I'm trying to use a tableview without using a nib and without using a UITableViewController. I have added a UITableView instance to a UIViewController Like So mytable = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(22, 207, 270, 233)]; [mytable setDelegate:self]; [self.view mytable]; Also I have added the following table view methods to my UIViewController (cut for brevities sake) - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath - (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { I am getting a warning saying that my UIViewController does not implement UITableView delegate protocol. Whats the correct way to tell the table view where its delegate methods are? (This is my first attempt at trying to use a UITableView without selecting the UITableTableview controller from the new file options)

  • iPhone YouTube Channel App

    - by pki
What would the steps be to creating an app that connected to YouTube's XML API. Here is my setup currently but it is not working. App Delegate creates object "YTXMLParser" App Delegate calls [parser prepAndPrase]; In Prep and Parse the app initiates a NSURLConnection The app downloads the XML Data using the NSURLConnection well appeneding to NSMutableData The app parses the data with NSXMLParser At the end of each "entry" the app adds the current dictionary to the class. At the beginning of each "entry" the app creates an instance of a dictionary. Here's where i'm stuck. How do I get this data back to my app delegate?
