• Android - Buffering Lag with VideoView

  I am using VideoView to display a video in my app. The problem is that, once the layout gets created there is lag of almost 10-30 seconds before which the video starts to play. I can see in LogCat that the video is buffering during the lag. Is there a way I can minimize this lag, or tell MediaPlayer to play the video sooner? Thanks Chris

• Display processing page then redirect when complete

  I have a script that takes a while. I'd like to display a page during the processing of the script then redirect when the process is complete. E.g.: form.php - processing.php - display_result.php I would like that processing.php is displayed immediately after form is submitted showing (Processing your information, please wait...) Once processing is complete the page should be redirected to display_result.php Is there anyway to sort of flush the content to the browser before processing begins, then redirect when the process is complete?

  Are there any tools that can verify whether a jQuery plugin will be compatible with the latest version of jQuery? Once a large number of jQuery plugins are selected and in use, an unknown number of dependencies can develop. It would be nice to upgrade jQuery, however not all plugins remain supported or provide consistently architected upgrades. The only option seems to be adhoc manual regression testing. It would be nice to have a strategy for dealing with this issue.

I saw some people put all modules in one view stack ,and so the application interface is only load once, but when the application get larger, the whole compiled swf would be very big. If we put swfs in different pages, we pass request parameters through HTTP request, we lost the benefits from flex RPC services, slow loading, and we can't see any superior comparing to php,asp,jsp... what's the best practice to organize front end architecture?

  I know that in C++, I can declare variables pretty much everywhere. I recall once reading that in C, variables must be declared at the top of a function i.e. the following is invalid: void foo() { int good; if (...) { int bad; } } In the above code, is the declaraing of the bad varaible legal by C standards, or only legal due to a gcc extension? • Trouble with Native OpenGL Renderer

  I am using Native code to render OpenGL in Android and I get periodic errors that look like this: ERROR/IMGSRV(1435): frameresource.c:610: WaitUntilResourceIsNotNeeded: PVRSRVEventObjectWait failed ERROR/IMGSRV(1018): sgxif.c:124: WaitForRender: PVRSRVEventObjectWait failed ERROR/IMGSRV(1435): osfunc_um.c:318: PVRSRVEventObjectWait: Error 13 returned Once these errors come up I have to restart the phone or the rendering won't start again correctly. I have done a lot of web searching and I can't find out what could be the cause of these errors. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Is there any way of writing a method like createArray(typeof(int), firstDimension, secondDimension); and getting new int[firstDimension][secondDimension]? • How does WAS/IIS manage ServiceHost instances?

  It appears that WAS will call ServiceHostFactory.CreateHost() once per each service implementation. How does WAS manage the lifetime of the ServiceHost/ServiceHostFactory? We have a custom factory/host that is occasionally being re-initialized. I'm wondering if WAS is recycling itself or it has some other reason to re-create the ServiceHostFactory/ServiceHost. I'm guessing the ServiceHostFactory gets fired up for the AppDomain and is a singleton, can someone confirm?

• Can seekToNavCuePoint be used with flvs streamed via RTMP?

  I have been able to create the actionscript required to use seekToNavCuePoint with a locally hosted flv with embedded cuepoints. Once I switch to having it on our RTMP server the cuepoints are not available it seems. Lots of googleing has me coming up short. This is using the FLVPlayback component and ActionScript 3.

• Hotkeys no longer work in Visual C# 2010 Express

  Suddenly none of hotkeys in C# Express work (like F5, F6 etc.). I don't know what I've done, but no doubt its something stupid. Does anyone know how to fixed this? I have tried the Keyboard settings in Options, but it won;t even let me add hotkeys for some reason, even once I've removed the old ones. So re-adding them does not work.

  I have the following code for Android which works fine to play a sound once a button is clicked: Button SoundButton2 = (Button)findViewById(R.id.sound2); SoundButton2.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { mSoundManager.playSound(2); } }); My problem is that I want the sound to play immediately upon pressing the button (touch down), not when it is released (touch up). • NHibernate dateTime as an ID Bad idea?

  hi there I have an entity and it seems like using DateTime as the Id would be a good suit, however I there is this strange feeling that that it might be a terrible idea ( tho i cant come up with any logical reason as to why), This is an immutable object ( ie once the value is recorded it shouldn't really change ) So DateTime as id field in NHibernate yay or Nay? I would appreciate your comments on this
