    I need to test a class library project in VS. This project, itself, does not have a web.config file, but the classes do on the web server to which it's deployed. I access these like this: ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["stringname"].ConnectionString; Can I adjust these strings while running unit tests in VS? Should I have considered a different design method to avoid this problem?

    Hi, I wanna do some local developer tests of IIS 7 but I don't have Windows Vista, 7 or 2008 server - I currently run XP SP3. I have Virtual PC installed so I can use Microsoft's IE compatibility images - are there any time-limited images that I can use with Virtual PC so I can check out IIS 7? The IIS 7 "Try it" link points to this page. But the VHS is for Windows Server platforms only I think and I don't want an ISO? Any advice?

    How do i write my spec without using the sleep(1.second) method? When I remove the sleep then my tests break because they are returning the same time stamp? In ruby there's very common idiom to check if current file is "main" file: if __FILE__ == $0 # do something here (usually run unit tests) end I'd like to do something similar in C after reading gcc documentation I've figured that it should work like this: #if __FILE__ == __BASE_FILE__ // Do stuff #endif the only problem is after I try this: $ gcc src/bitmap_index.c -std=c99 -lm && ./a.out src/bitmap_index.c:173:1: error: token ""src/bitmap_index.c"" is not valid in preprocessor expressions Am I using #if wrong?

    Hi, The connection string in my app.config for my C# project looks like Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename='|DataDirectory|\EIC.mdf';Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" I am writing unit tests for the project and have the set the test run configuration to copy the EIC.mdf, but I do am not able to reference the Deployed copy of EIC.mdf to be referenced by the app.config I created for the test project. If I set it to Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename='EIC.mdf';Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" It still does not find the mdf file.

  • RegCreateKeyEx - does it update the returned handle on failure?

    MSDN documentation seems silent on whether RegCreateKeyEx ever updates the value of the handle referred to by its second-last parameter when it fails. My tests have only shown it not to update this - i.e., I set h = 0 before the call, pass &h to a call to RegCreateKeyEx to open a non-existent key, and see h = 0 after the call. Does anyone know of any situation in which the handle would be changed?

    If you have a C++ project that has a bunch of .ODL files and the generated .h files from the ODL compiler, should doxygen be told to parse both .odl and .h, or only one or the other? In general I don't like documenting generated code but IDL is sort of a special case. In any case, it seems like the member listing of ODL files is not quite working properly in my tests, are ODL files properly parsed?

    Hi, I'm doing massive tests on a Postgres database... so basically I have 2 table where I inserted 40.000.000 records on, let's say table1 and 80.000.000 on table2 after this I deleted all those records. Now if I do SELECT * FROM table1 it takes 199000ms ? I can't understand what's happening? can anyone help me on this?

If they are non-technical and have no understanding of programming, how would you go about showing what the system will do and how it will do it?     How can I find the dimensions of a matrix in Python. Len(A) returns only one variable. Edit: Hi Thanks. close = dataobj.get_data(timestamps, symbols, closefield) Is (I assume) generating a matrix of integers (less likely strings). I need to find the size of that matrix, so I can run some tests without having to iterate through all of the elements. As far as the data type goes, I assume it's an array of arrays (or list of lists).
