For example - My dictionary has the following words - {w1, w2, w3, w4} And I have 2 documents each having subset of the words in the vocabulary. I need to write to a text file the matrix in the form -- 1,3,4,0 0,0,2,1 Here each row represents a document and the values represent the occurrence of each word in the document.     for my application I have to build a little customized time ticker which ticks over after whatever delay I tell it to and writes the new value in my textArea. The problem is that the ticker is running fully until the termination time and then printing all the values.     I use Excel sheets to track the status of tasks through a set of discrete statuses. I'd like to be able to format these automatically, with the start being red, the end being green and progressing through the combination colors in the middle. Status1 (Red) Status2 (More Red than Green) Status3 (More Green than Red) Status4 (Green) The "Color Scales" option under Conditional Formatting seems like it could be made to work, but it wants numbers. So, my question, can it be done? Using conditional formatting or other formulas to achieve the desired affect?

    I need to start reading The TCP/IP Guide. I have to admit that compared to other informative guides/tutorials/articles out there, this guide isn't so cluttered. However, I still find it a little bit hard to read, especially when reading for several hours. I don't know if it's the font, the contrast or the spacing, but this is why I've always preferred learning from books rather than from the internet. What can I do to make this guide more readable? I am reading it on Google Chrome.

    I've got an excel spreadsheet where I would normally use a VLOOKUP. In this case I need to find the ID of the record when comparing email addresses, so the email address is the unique id here. For example on sheet 1 A B C D Person Id | Family Name | First Name | Email #N/A | Doe | John | [email protected] On Sheet 2 A B C D Person Id | Family Name | First Name | Email 12345 | Doe | John | [email protected] Basically on sheet 1 I've got 800 records, on sheet 2 450. I know the 450 are in Sheet 1, so I need to find the ids of those, and put them on sheet 1 where I've got lots more data for each person. What I've tried so far is a VLOOKUP, but I keep getting an error. I'd like to do it with some sort of formula and not using any copy paste and remove duplicates. Any ideas?

  • MySQL efficiency as it relates to the database/table size

    I'm building a system using django, Sphinx and MySQL that's very quickly becoming quite large. The database currently has about 2000 rows, and I've written a program that's going to populate it with another 40,000 rows in a couple days. Since the database is live right now, and since I've never had a database with this much information in it, I'm worried about some things: Is adding all these rows going to seriously degrade the efficiency of my django app? Will I need to go back through it and optimize all my database calls so they're doing things more cleverly? Or will this make the database slow all around to the extent that I can't do anything about it at all? If you scoff at my 40k rows, then, my next question is, at what point SHOULD I be concerned? I will likely be adding another couple hundred thousand soon, so I worry, and I fret. How is sphinx going to feel about all this? Is it going to freak out when it realizes it has to index all this data? Or will it be fine? Is this normal for it? If it is, at what point should I be concerned that it's too much data for Sphinx? Thanks for any thoughts.

  • Intellij-Idea: Marking all files of unknown type be type: text (so that they are searchable)

    Many of my scripts etc in intellij are marked with a question mark. Then when I click on them them it prompts me: The file "bla" cannot be associated with a registered file type. Please choose one: <insert table of file choices> This would not matter except the files are not searchable (with ctrl-shift-n) until they are marked as text. This is a major problem for me. I have an enormous code base and I don't want to mark all of the unknown files as text. Is there anyway that I can do that? *(Note: I have cross posted this to the intellij form

  • Drag and Drop text - What am I missing?

    I am trying to add drag-and-drop text to my Doc-View App. I added the COleDropTarget variable to the view class, registered it in OnCreate(). I added OnDragEnter(), OnDragOver(), OnDragLeave() and OnDrop() to that class as virtual overrides, but none of them are ever called. I previously had added m_pMainWnd-DragAcceptFiles(TRUE); to my App class. I tried commenting out that statement, but no affect. I tried using Spy++ to see where the messages go while I do a drag, but it logs nothing at all while I am dragging the text around in the App. What do I need? Or what else can I try, to narrow down the problem? TIA, Harvey

  • Subclassing NSArrayController in order to limit size of arrangedObjects

    I'm trying to limit the number of objects in an array controller, but I still want to be able to access the full array, if necessary. A simple solution I came up with was to subclass NSArrayController, and define a new method named "limitedArrangedObjects", that returns a limited number of objects from the real set of arranged objects. (I've seen http://stackoverflow.com/questions/694493/limiting-the-number-of-objects-in-nsarraycontroller , but that doesn't address my problem.) I want this property to be observable via bindings, so I set a dependency to arrangedObjects on it. Problem is, when arrangedObjects is updated, limitedArrangedObjects seems not to be observing the value change in arrangedObjects. I've hooked up an NSCollectionView to limitedArrangedObjects, and zero objects are being displayed. (If I bind it to arrangedObjects instead, all the objects show up as expected.) What's the problem?     I have a javascript application and when I run it on firefox I am getting the following erro on the console: "The stylesheet was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html" is not "text/css". DumbStuck!! EDIT: Note that it tells that "The stylesheet ABCD..." But ABCD is actually an HTML file. Edit (ANSWER) : Actually I had wrongly put href="", and hence the html file was refenecing itself as the CSS. Mozilla had the similar bug once, and it is from there I got the answer. But everyone's else answers helped me too. Thanks.

  • Finding text in Ubuntu (gnome) terminal output

    Imagine this scenario: You run a command at gnome terminal. This command has made a bunch of outputs to the terminal. After some time, you realize you need the value of a variable (let's say variable_needed) that was printed by the command somewhere in the terminal. How to find it? KDE terminal used to have a shortcut ctrl+shift+f which searched the terminal output. It seems that gnome-terminal doesn't have it (at least at Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS). Is there any way of adding it? Is there any other good terminal I could use that has it? Notice that the output has already been written so I don't want (cannot) run the command again combined with grep, |, , vim, emacs, etc.

    How do I get multi-line text on a WPF Button using only C#? I have seen examples of using <LineBreak/> in XAML, but my buttons are created completely programmatically in C#. The number and labels on the buttons correspond to values in the domain model, so I don't think I can use XAML to specify this. I have tried the naive approach below, but it does not work. Button b = new Button(); b.Content = "Two\nLines"; or b.Content = "Two\r\nLines"; In either case, all i see is the first line ("Two") of the text.

    I am working on a system for reserving seats. A user inputs how many seats they wish to reserve and the database will return a set of suggested seats that are not previously reserved that matches the number of seats being reserved. For instance if I had the table: SeatID | Reserved ----------------- 1 | false 2 | true 3 | false 4 | false 5 | false 6 | true 7 | true 8 | false 9 | false 10 | true And the user inputs that they wish to reserve 2 seats, I would expect the query to return that seats (3, 4), (4, 5), and (8, 9) are not reserved and match the given number of input seats. Seats are organized into sections and rows. Continuous seats must be in the same row. How would I go about structuring this query to work in such a way that it finds all available continuous seats that match the given input?

  • Limiting the size of the managed heap in a C# application

    Can I configure my C# application to limit its memory consumption to, say, 200MB? IOW, I don't want to wait for the automatic GC (which seems to allow the heap to grow much more than actually needed by this application). I know that in Java there's a command line switch you can pass to the JVM that achieves this.. is there an equivalent in C#? p.s. I know that I can invoke the GC from code, but that's something I would rather not have to do periodically. I'd rather set it once upon startup somehow and forget it.
