  • Split Tunnel VPN using incorrect Tunnel

    Our company has a handful of field offices that have recently been setup with a regular internet connection after we removed the T1 and router that connected them directly to our network. Now, when the users are in the office, they log in to the VPN to be able to connect to the network. For the sake of them being able to print and scan from the local multi-function we have setup a split tunnel VPN. We currently have about 15-20 users using this setup around the country without any problems. Recently one of our users started having problems accessing internal programs/sites when connecting from both home and the office. There are three other users in the same office and they do not have this problem. I assumed that it was something with the computer and went ahead and replaced it with another of the same model. The computer worked fine in our home office; however, when the user received it, she had the exact same problem both at home and in the field office. Thinking it may be a NIC driver issue I sent her another computer, this time a different model, same problem occurred. If I update the host file to point to the correct paths, things will work, and if I connect via a normal VPN connection everything works, but the user cannot scan or print - which is a problem. Have tried to find ways to create another tunnel on a normal VPN and have tried to find ways to force the correct tunnel on the split tunnel VPN. It appears that there is something related to the ISP because if I connect to Comcast or Verizon it is fine but once she connects to Insite then she has problems. I have been unable to get any support from Insite as they don't feel the issue is with them. We use a Nortel VPN client. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi, Our client enironment recently migrated from word 2000 to 2003, we use the below code in one of the templates to show the word's default insert file dialog box. Word is integrated with another third party application Hummingbird docspen. With Dialogs(wdDialogInsertFile) .Name = "q:*.*" .Show End With In old environment it opens up the default insertfile dialog box pointing to my documents folder, where as in word 2003, it opens up the Docsopen insertfile dialog box. I have compared the settings of word 2000 and 2003 it seems to be same. Any suggestions on this please.

Is there a way to specify which sequence Django has to use for an AutoField? In the documentation I read I was not able to find an answer.

  • AJAX ModalPopup Pops Behind (Under) Page Content (Negative z-index)

    I am having an issue with the AJAX ModalPopupExtender in version 40412 of the AJAX Control Toolkit (http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.com/releases/view/43475). The first time the ModalPopup is made visible it works correctly. The z-index is set to 6001 (and the background Div's z-index is set to 6000) and the Popup appears above everything else. If the cancel button within the ModalPopup is clicked, it also has the correct functionality, the display is set to "none" and the ModalPopup is no longer visible. However, when the Popup is triggered again, the z-index is only set to 2000 which is still visible above everything else, but if it is canceled and triggered again it is set to -2000 which is not visible (the z-index is decreasing by 4000 each time). I'm not sure why this is happening. Any ideas how to fix it? Special circumstances: There are multiple ModalPopup's on the page. All ModalPopups are triggered in code-behind through partial-page postbacks (using the .Show() method) ModalPopupExtenders are within the same UpdatePanels that are displayed as popups

    I am running Windows 7 at my office and Windows XP at home. I have seen the new Remote Desktop and want to use (I have three monitors at office and three at home) In the specs I saw where in order to use the multimon features you must connect to a Windows 7 client (I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit in my office) When I connect to it (from XP running RDP 7) I can't get all my monitors to come up, just one Is there something I am doing wrong?   • Retrieving a virtual box vdh that has been deleted from within Virtual box itself

    I had a MS Virtual machine that I imported to virtual box to see how it worked. I decided that in this case MS Virtual machine worked just as good so removed the virtual machine from Virtual Box. In the process I accidently removed/deleted the vhd file that MS Virtual machine uses. Can I get this back from somewhere within virtual box or the recycle bin or do I have to use a undelete utlilty?

I want all traffic to go through the cabled NIC, except the 192.168.1.0/8 range should use the wifi-nic. This was working fine in Windows 7, without any manual configuration.     Hello everyone :) I have an application that needs to operate on Windows 2000. I'd also like to use Visual Studio 2010 (mainly because of the change in the definition of the auto keyword). However, I'm in a bit of a bind because I need the app to be able to operate on older OS's, namely: Windows 2000 Windows XP RTM Windows XP SP1 Visual Studio 2010's runtime library depends on the EncodePointer / DecodePointer API which was introduced in Windows XP SP2. If using the alternate runtime library is possible, will this break code that relies on C++0x features added in VS2010, like std::regex?

  • Network use of Gaming PC

    Background After YEARS of waiting, I built the custom gaming PC of my dreams: Intel i7 - 975 Extreme Edition 3.3ghz (overclocked to 4.0) ATI Radeon 5970 2gb Corsair 256 gb SSD Drive 2 TB Sata II 3.0 7200rpm data drive 12 GB Kingston Hyper-X (1600mhz) DDR3 Windows 7 Ultra 64 bit And so on. . . Problem I hooked this beast up to our home theater and settled in for a great gaming season only to realize a couple of drawbacks: It's hard to accurately wax bad guys using a keyboard in your lap whilst reclined on your couch (and using a wireless keyboard). It's hard to read the text on the screen (i.e. menus, etc). I find that a 1:1 ratio (screen diagonal inch to inch away from screen) is optimum, but using the home theater, it's more like 1:3 which has me squinting unless I sit on the coffee table. The wife always seems to want the TV the same time I do and, unfortunately "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and Battlefield BC don't mix. I am losing the battle in the home theater room, but the PC has to stay there (long story). So, this leaves me with the option of playing in my home office which is about 30 feet away from the home theater. I am a software developer so I have a pretty decent set up in my office--multiple 1080p monitors, HP Envy 17 which can run games like Crysis in 720p with out stammering too much. Also, I can game very comfortably at my desk in the office. Still, even though the set up in my office can run games well enough, I don't want to regress to that when I have worked YEARS for an awesome gaming PC that can run everything on ultra high settings. My Question What are my options for running my games on the beastly desktop in the Home Theater, but physically playing in my office about 30 feet away? A really long HDMI cable? LAN/RDC? Details that May Help We have an open crawlspace so running cable from HT room to office is no problem. I already have networked the house with a LAN Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Matt

  • Help replace this SQL cursor with better code

    Can anyone give me a hand improving the performance of this cursor logic from SQL 2000. It runs great in SQl2005 and SQL2008, but takes at least 20 minutes to run in SQL 2000. BTW, I would never choose to use a cursor, and I didn't write this code, just trying to get it to run faster.   • I am unable to connect to my netbook from any machine on my network until the netbook has pinged it

    I have a rather strange issue with my netbook on my local network. When trying to connect to it in any way from a remote system it does not appear to find it. However if I get the netbook to ping the machine trying to connect it mystically appears to work. Below is the ping test from my main PC to the netbook. It fails (saying something about enabling GRE). (after authenticating, hangs for a while, than give the error message.)     I have Decimal field in SQLserver 2005 table, Price decimal(18, 4) if I write 12 it will be converted to 12.0000, if I write 12.33 it will be converted into 12.3300. Always it's putting zero to the right of the decimal point in the count of Scale Part(4). I was using these in SQL Server 2000, it was not behaving like this, in SQL Server 2000 if I put 12.5 it will be stored as 12.5 not as 12.5000 what SQLServer2005 do. My Question is how to stop SQL Server 2005 from putting zeros to the right of the decimal point?

    How would one go about writing a query that selects items 2000-2010 out of a collection of 10000 objects in the data store. I know that it can be done like this in GQL: select * from MyObject limit 10 offset 2000 According to the documentation, when using an offset the engine will still fetch all the rows, only not return them, thus making the query perform in a way that corresponds linearly with the value of offset. Is there any better way? Such as using a pseudo ROWNUM column like one could do in other types of data stores.
