• Enumerate shared folders on Windows with low privileges

  Using C++ (VS2008) I need to be able to enumerate all shared folders on the current machine and get or construct the local and remote names. We've been using NetShareEnum for this fairly successfully, but have hit a problem where we need to run with a user account with low privileges. To get the local path using NetShareEnum we need to retrieve at least SHARE_INFO_2 structures - but that requires "Administrator, Power User, Print Operator, or Server Operator group membership". I've been trying to use WNetOpenEnum and WNetEnumResource instead but I don't seem to be getting the local name back for that for shares either - and I can't seem to get it to enumerate just local resources - it goes off and finds all shared resources on the local network - which is not an acceptable overhead. So I'd either like help on where I'm going wrong with WNetEnumResource, or a suggestion as to another way of doing this. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

• SSH Chown problems

  I have a webserver with multiple domain and user accounts setup. Recently I renamed one of the domain names and changed it's username correspondingly. However, this new user cannot access the data from the domain because it does not have the required permissions. How can I solve this problem? I've tried chown and I still cannot get access to the files. I have SSH root access and this is the only way I can actually move/touch the files but the webserver displays the file through another username which does not have access to the files. Thanks

• having a test debug app and a released debug app side by side

  Yo! When I download my app from the iStore, the latest test version installed to my phone gets over written. Does anyone know how to have two versions of the same app side by side? On a test project, I edited the build settings so that "realease" and "debug" have different product names. This seemed to solve my problem, however when I try this same trick on my actual project, the two overwrite each other again. Does anyone have a recommendation? I don't mind how it's done. Thanks!   I'm using the MembershipProvider that is part of the MVC2 default project. I'd like to be able to take a list of user names, and log the users off, and destroy their session if needed.   I'm building a few SharePoint sites, and I want to make use of zones so I may set security different in the various zones. My workstation has a local SharePoint, and I use it for development. My workstation has a static IP, and is connected to the internet. When I make a SharePoint site, I want to add a host header, for instance, devbox.com. I do not own this name, nor do I want to. I then add an entry in my hosts file, but when I surf to http://devbox.com:8080, it does not resolve. Do I need to register the name I want to use, or should this work, i.e., have my hosts file resolve names/IPs first?

  Here are things installed: $ sudo apt-get install postgresql-server-dev-8.4 libpq5 libpq-dev Here is a past to my config.out: http://pastebin.com/8Nk6pr96 And, here are some hints I got from IRC (names concealed) < foo> it's NOT failing to find libpq. < foo> libpq is present, but not compilable without adding a boatload of other -l flags < foo> and postgis' configure doesn't let you specify that via LIBS < foo> his paste contains the config.out, which shows this The configure dies with this, configure: error: could not find libpq I intend to install postgis for mapfish :)

• PHP mssql_query double quotes cannot be used

  Hi all, In java-jdbc, I can easily run the following SQL (NOTE the double quotes around columns and table names) Select cus."customer_id" , cus."organisation_or_person" , cus."organisation_name" , cus."first_name" , cus."last_name" , cus."date_became_customer" , cus."other_customer_details" From "Contact_Management"."dbo"."Customers" cus But the same query in PHP errors out saying invalid syntax "Warning: mssql_query() [function.mssql-query]: message: Incorrect syntax near 'customer_id'. (severity 15) " But If remove all the double quotes, the query works fine and no errors. The query is ported from a java application so I would like to keep the double quotes and the SQL as it is. Any alternative solutions? Thank you Nilesh

  Hi, I am attempting to add an Interbase connection pool to GlassFish v3 to use EJB 3.1 in a project. The glassfish log appears to be connecting to my database properly, it spits out all my table names and indices. However, I get an error INFO: fetching database metadata SEVERE: could not complete schema update java.lang.NullPointerException at interbase.interclient.ResultSet.local_Close(Unknown Source) ... And when I ping the connection pool from within Glassfish I receive "Ping failed Exception - null". I have the following properties set with my connectionpool: resource type: javax.sql.DataSource Datasource Classname: interbase.interclient.DataSource portNumber: 3050 as well as my database info. I can't seem to find information elsewhere. This question is similar but did not receive an answer. thanks.

  I'm familiar with how type affinity works in SQLite: You can declare column types as anything you want, and all that matters is whether the type name contains "INT", "CHAR", "FLOA", etc. But is there a commonly-used convention on what type names to use? For example, if you have an integer column, is it better to distinguish between TINYINT, SMALLINT, MEDIUMINT, and BIGINT, or just declare everything as INTEGER? So far, I've been using the following: INTEGER REAL CHAR(n) -- for strings with a known fixed with VARCHAR(n) -- for strings with a known maximum width TEXT -- for all other strings BLOB BOOLEAN DATE -- string in "YYYY-MM-DD" format TIME -- string in "HH:MM:SS" format TIMESTAMP -- string in "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS" format (Note that the last three are contrary to the type affinity.)

  I'm creating a service reference to a web service written in Java. The generated classes now follow the Java casing convention used in the web service, for example class names are camelCase rather than PascalCase. Is there a way to get the desired casing from the service reference? CLARIFICATION: With WSE based services, one could modify the generated Reference.cs to provide .NET standard casing and use XmlElementAttribute to map to the Java naming presented by the external web service, like this: [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("resultType", Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)] [System.Runtime.Serialization.DataMember] public virtual MyResultType ResultType { ... } Not terribly maintenance-friendly without writing custom code to either generate the proxy code or modify it after it's been generated. What I'm after is one or more options to present a WCF generated client proxy to calling applications using the .NET casing conventions, achieving the same as I did previously with WSE. Hopefully with less manual effort.

  Hello, I have an .HTML file that has many photos attached to it for displaying a photo gallery. I'm replacing old photos with new ones, and I'm thinking there must be a more intelligent way than simply copying and pasting repetitive file names. I would love to be able to replace and increment a file name on each replace, starting at a base file name of my choosing. For example... ...images/69thStreet010.jpg ...images/69thStreet011.jpg ...images/69thStreet012.jpg Basically performing a CTRL+F and REPLACE '69thStreet010.jpg' with... ...images/xyz001.jpg ...images/xyz002.jpg ...images/xyz003.jpg And so on until I want it to stop. • Git - tidying up a repo

  Hi I have got my repo into a bit of a state and want to be able to work my way out of it The repo looks a bit like this (A1, B1, C1 etc are obviously commits) A1 ---- A2 ---- A3 ---- A4 ---- A5 ---- A6 ---- A7 ---- A8 / (from a remote repo) B1 ---- B2 --------------------------------- | \ \ C1 ---------------------------------C2 \ / D1 --- D2 --- D3 --- D4 --- D5 --- D6 Ideally I'd like to be able to remove all the revisions (with rebase?) on the B, C and D lines (I'm loathed to say branches simply because there are now no local branches on these lines except ref branches to the remote repo) and try to merge in the remote repo again, perhaps in a better way. I'd be grateful of any suggestions as to how to get rid of all these commits. Could I ask that any answers use revision SHA1s rather than branch names. I thought that somehow I'd be able to revert the merge into A7 but can't quite work out how to do it I hope that is sufficient information. Many thx Simon

Currently i am setting item delegate for its content so as to draw/paint line type instead of displaying names. All line types are drawing currectly but as soon as i am selecting any line type from the combobox, the current index of combo box is displaying just the line name and not painting it. How can i make it paint the selected line type on the current combo box index?

  Hi, I have a messy stored procedure which uses dynamic sql. I can debug it in runtime by adding print @sql; where @sql; is the string containing the dynamic SQL, right before I call execute (@sql);. Now, the multi-page stored procedure also creates dynamic tables and uses them in a query. I want to print those tables to the console right before I do an execute, so that I know exactly what the query is trying to do. However, the SQL Server 08 does not like that. When I try: print #temp_table; and try to compile the S.P. I get this error: The name "#temp_table" is not permitted in this context. Valid expressions are constants, constant expressions, and (in some contexts) variables. Column names are not permitted. Please help.

• passing user from UITableView to UIWebView based on selection

  Hello, I'm trying to pass the user on to the interface based on their cell selection in the UITableView, ie, if the user selects cell 1, they are taken to view model 2, containing UIWebView. UIWebView then displays local file, cell1.html. Currently, I've manage to get placeholder using: selectedCellText.text = selectedCell; to display the name of the cell selected. How do I get it to directly pass to the UIWebView, stick UIWebView in the interface and link it using: UIWebView *myWebView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; NSBundle *mainBundle = [NSBundle mainBundle]; NSString *stringUrl = [mainBundle pathForResource:@"selectedCell" ofType:@"html"]; NSURL *baseUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:stringUrl]; NSURLRequest *urlRequest = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:baseUrl]; [myWebView loadRequest:urlRequest]; My other issue is that some of the cell names have spaces in them, and for simplicity, I'd like to ensure that there are no spaces (actually, will it even work with spaces in the name, I assume with %20 ?   I have a SQL 2008 Ent server with the databases "DBOne", "DBTwo", "DBThree" on the server DEVSQLSRV. Here is my Powershell script: $DBNameList = (Invoke-SQLCmd -query "select Name from sysdatabases" -Server DEVSQLSRV) This produces my desired list of database names as: Name ----- DBOne DBTwo DBThree I has been my assumption that anything that is returned as a list is an Array in Powershell. However, when I then try this in Powershell: $DBNameList -contains 'DBTwo' It comes back has "False" instead of "True" which is leading me to believe that my list is not an actual array. • Entitiy Framework: "Update Database from Model" instead of "Generate Database from Model"

  Hey everyone, I have created a Entity Framework 4 model with Visual Studio 2010 and generated a database from it. Now I found myself adding new properties (with default values), changing documentation of columns, changing names of columns, changing types of columns several times. All tasks that do not require much "extra work" in order not to be possible to be achieved automatically (in my humble opinion). Everytime I did "Generate Database from Model" and lost of course the table data. Is there a way just to update the database's architecture so to say - leaving the table data untouched? Maybe with some user interaction especially when changing types etc.? Or would this functionality be simply too difficult to be realized to work in a reliable way? Thanks in advance! Cheers, David

• IE8 error with Certificate

  I have installed a certificate with multiple Common Names on a Red Hat server in the jks format. The web page can be accessed with Firefox and the certificate gets imported. However, IE8 gives the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I added the cert with MMC and its properties shows "This certificate has an nonvalid digital signature.". Also the cert doesn't have the URL of the web page in it. The cert does have a valid signature in Firefox and the URL mismatch is ignored. How can I get IE8 to accept it. This cert is required for another Application (where it works fine) and cannot be changed except to change the format. I already have it in PKCS12, jks and pem formats.

  Let's say a question has many tags, via a join table called taggings. I do a join thus: SELECT DISTINCT `questions`.id FROM `questions` LEFT OUTER JOIN `taggings` ON `taggings`.taggable_id = `questions`.id LEFT OUTER JOIN `tags` ON `tags`.id = `taggings`.tag_id I want to order the results according to a particular tag name, eg 'piano', so that piano is at the top, then by all the other tags in alphabetical order. Currently i'm using this order clause: ORDER BY (tags.name = 'piano') desc, tags.name Which is going completely wrong - the first results i get back aren't even tagged with 'piano' at all. I think my problem is that i need to group the tag names somehow and do my ordering test against that: i think that doing it against the straight tags.name isn't working due to the structure of the resultant join table (it does work if i just do a simple select on the tags table) but i can't get my head around how to fix it. grateful for any advice, max
