  I want to use a proxy for web browsing similar to Ultrasurf for Windows. I've tried to use TOR, but it isn't working! The problem is whenever I search something along the lines of "ubuntu + linux proxy", sites assume that I want to set up a proxy server rather than use one. I just want something with little to no configuration needed (i.e. I don't have my own proxy server). UltraSurf is a free software which enables users inside countries with heavy Internet censorship to visit any public web sites in the world safely and freely.   Firstofall, I am sorry if my question is to broad. I am developing a tile based game and switched from those gl.Begin calls to using VBOs. This is kind of working allready, I managed to render a hexagonal polygon with a simple shader applied. What I am not sure is, how to implement the "whole" tile concept. Concrete the questions are: - Is it better to create 1 VBO for a single tile and render it n-Times in every different position, or render one huge VBO that represents the whole "world" - Depending on the answer above, what is the best way to draw a "linegrid". Overlay with the same vbo using the respecting polygon.mode , or is there a way to let the shader to this? - How would frustum-culling or mousepicking work then, do i need to keep the VBO-data in memory?

• Is it possible to procedurally place objects in a non-gridded game?

  I'd like to implement procedural world generation, but I don't want it to look gridded or blocky, where everything is obviously placed on an integer grid. I know that you can do this in gridded worlds by inputting a square's x and y into a noise function, or similar, but is it possible to generate a more natural looking object placement using procedural methods? This is in the context of an adventure game, if it matters. Edit: I guess I should have been a bit more clear in my original question, but I'm mostly wondering about the actual placement of objects in game, e.g. trees, buildings.

  I'm looking to register a few more domains for my company, I have my-company.com at the moment, but now require my-company.com.au and my-company.nl and some others.. I'm running through my options and wondering what is the best.. Duplicate all the content on the .com package and make a replica at the other domains Buy the other domains but do a 301 redirect back to the .com domain. Create a full new website with different content for the new domains, thus having no text duplication We currently sell over the world so would like to raise our Search rankings in various countries, can this be done by buying the domain in the country, and if so, how will the above methods affect our search rankings. • Help deciding on an area of study for a PhD [closed]

  I am going to start a PhD in about 1 year. My undergraduate degree is in computer science and my master's is in artificial intelligence. I want to get ideas about what's going to be hot in say 5 years i.e. what could I spend 3-4 years studying to potentially have expertise that will be applicable to industry and the computing world ? Impossible to answer factually but some ideas and thoughts would be great. I have narrowed my ideas down to AI (yes, even more AI) and information security. AI seems to becoming popular again but security is always a going to be useful. From a career point of view, if I were to stay working in software development then this might actually be the best move but I've always wanted to do a PhD! Many thanks :).

I'm pretty convinced my math is solid with respect to line plane intersection, but I believe the problem lies with the changing of the mouse screen touch into 3D world space. • How do I build a matrix to translate one set of points to another?

  I've got 3 points in space that define a triangle. I've also got a vertex buffer made up of three vertices, that also represent a triangle that I will refer to as a "model". How can I can I find the matrix M that will transform vertex in my buffer to those 3 points in space ? For example, let's say my three points A, B, C are at locations: A.x = 10, A.y = 16, A.z = 8 B.x = 12, B.y = 11, B.z = 1 C.x = 19, C.y = 12, C.z = 3 given these coordinates how can I build a matrix that will translate and rotate my model such that both triangles have the exact same world space ? That is, I want the first vertex in my triangle model to have the same coordinates as A, the second to have the same coordinates as B, and same goes for C. nb: I'm using instanced rendering so I can't just give each vertex the same position as my 3 points. I have a set of three points defining a triangle, and only three vertices in my vertex buffer.

The wikipedia link above is an overview of the concept. The short form explanation is that a co-op is a worker-owned business. Also there is the notion that every worker owns shares in the business. I am interested in knowing whether an example of a "programmer's/IT co-op" even exists. Note: I am not talking about nor asking about a government-funded incubator nor any other socialized, state supported group. I also don't mean "co-working", which is renting an office with other self employed people doing their own thing. I mean a going, profitable IT business operating in a competitive environment that is worker-owned and run.

  I want to test each and every project type available on mono. But due to some package dependencies Im unable to run any of "Hello World" project. I have less idea what libraries I need for what. Few days back I have installed gtk-sharp2 but still while running an VB.net Gtk# or C# Gtk# Im getting compilation errors that cli.Gtk does not exist. Is there a way through which I can solve all dependencies by one click ?! I atleast once want to try learning linux app programming. Without the proper tools it is not possible. • Are "backwards" terminators for if and case unique to shell scripting?

  In bash at least, if and case blocks are closed like this: if some-expr then echo "hello world" fi case $some-var in [1-5]) do-a-thing ;; *) do-another-thing esac as opposed to the more typical close of end or endif/endcase. As far as I know, this rather funny convention is unique to shell scripting and I have never seen such an odd block terminator anywhere else. Sometimes things like this have an origin in another language (like Ruby's elsif coming from Perl), or a strange justification. Does this feature of shell scripting have a story behind it? Is it found in other languages?

  I'm learning C++ and I'm using g++ on Linux for practicing. 1) I want to know if people working as programmers use g++ -pedantic flag and also it's importance in real world. 2) What about other compilers, do they also allow this? Has this become some de-facto standard? I'm interested because I'm reading C++ Primer where the author points that its illegal to use non-const expression as dimension in array definition and g++ by default allows it. And there might be other things I'm unaware of.

  I have a client who has over 200 Question/Answer style content blocks. Neither the questions or answers are very long and most of them have almost the same question but with a word or two differentiating themselves from the rest of the questions. Would SEO be helped or hurt if I would to put each QA on its own page with the title of the page the question being asked etc... Or, would that be considered "farming"? If not, what would be the best way (in SEO world) do present all these QAs? Thanks for any advice..

I'm looking for the right sort of role and the right place to look for it; I would really appreciate input from someone with industry experience. I've got an excellent academic record: BSc Physics (2:1), MSc Computer Graphics, Vision and Imaging (expecting Merit) from two world ranking universities. I have advanced technical knowledge of C/C++ and Matlab and experience working with C# and VB.NET. Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of commercial experience; unlike a lot of people I know my under-graduate didn't come with a sandwich placement.
