  • Enabling printing feature within the Terminal Server environment that is published to the internet?

    I got the home and remote office users connect to the Terminal Server on my Windows Server 2003 that I published securely through Juniper SSL VPN client applet, they use normal internet connection to access the link which pop up the Terminal Server Remote Desktop application, so my question is, how can they print out the document from within their terminal server session ? if it is going through the internal office LAN mapping the printer through Remote Desktop connection is the solution but not for this one. Any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Partition table is corrupt

    I have a corrupt the partition table on the laptop that is running Ubunutu 10.4. Before the partition table was corrupt I had the following partitions: 2 primary partitions: 1st - NTFS 2nd - Extended 4 logical partitons that are built within 2nd extended: 1st NTFS (68 Gib) 2nd Linux (19 Gib) 3rd Swap (1.4 Gib) 4th Linux (24 Gib) The physical order of these partitions was the following: ( 4th Linux ) - ( 1st NTFS ) - ( 2nd Linux ) - ( 3rd Swap ) The logical order of the partition was different: ( 1st NTFS ) - ( 2nd Linux ) - ( 3rd Swap ) ( 4th Linux ) NTFS partition was big and it resided between 2 Linux partitions, neither of these partitions had enough space to install Oracle 11g for my project with prof. Gamper and Markus Innerebner. Therefore, I decided to a) either move the NTFS partion to the left or b) remove it completely and extend partition where Linux resides. As I tool I have chosen GParted. But unfortunately it was not able to move the partition because he found that in NTFS partition there are some blocks that are referenced multiple times. Also it was not able to remove the partition neither, because in this case the partitions that follow it ( 2nd Linux ) - ( 3rd Swap ) have to be in his opinion also removed, because the organization of extended partition is a linked list. Since GParted was not able to do such thing I was trying to find another tool. I found diskdrake tool on PSLinuxOS distribution of linux. That tool silently deleted ( 1st NTFS ) partition and I thought that everything was fine. But diskdrake has damaged the partition in a way that I am not able either to boot from the hard disk nor to see the partitions with GParted and even with diskdrake itself! Fortunately I have a live CD of Ubuntu 8.10 and I am able to boot and see hard disk. I have 2 ideas how I can solve the problem: 1) Manually change disk partitions and point them to the correct partitions. 2) Create partition table with GParted that as much as possible is the same with the previous one I find the 2nd approach less time consuming but some data will be lost because of it is not possible to place borders of the partitions exactly how it was before. And moreover I am not sure if such approach would work, for example, if the OS is able to locate files after repartitioning. I feel like that it will but not 100% sure. Are there some ideas how the problem may be solved?

Versions: Server: CentOS 5 Desktop: Windows 7 Git (on Desktop): 1.6.5.1.1367.gcd48 Client: TortoiseGit 1.3.2.0 (with msysgit 1.6.1) How can I clone a Git repository from my server when my SSH port is non the default (22)? I believe that the URL ssh://[email protected]:3031/gitosis-admin.git works, but I get: '/gitosis-admin.git' does not appear to be a git repository Thank you.

(both running Ubuntu 9.10) So say: I've ssh'ed into the other computer; i 'cd' to the directory; and i entered cp File.zip /home/me/Desktop as file.zip is located in the directory i just used cd with. Now, it gives me the following error message: cannot create regular file '/home/me/Desktop': no such file or directory What do i have to do?

  • Screen is greyed out after power failure shutdown: Mac OSX

    When the battery power is down and the unit not plugged in the computer is forced into a sleep mode requiring pushing the start button when power is re-connected. The initial desktop screen appears to be greyed out and is unresponsive with a timer bar which, when the timing sequence is complete restores an active desktop. I can't find any reference to this phenomenon in the OSX literature I have. Any pointers to where I can get more information? Perhaps I am using the wrong search criteria?

  • Cisco Pix does not let traffic pass from outside to inside even though ACL permits

    I have tried to make my pix 515 allow traffic from outisde interface to inside, but despite permitting ACL's, it doesn't seem to let traffic through. (It is letting traffic out as it should though) I am have tried both of the following: access-list acl_in extended permit tcp any host 10.131.73.2 eq www and access-list acl_in extended permit ip any any None of them help, but I can access 10.131.73.2 from any host on the inside network. This is a one single host on the inside that should every now and then have an HTTP server running for development purpouses, so it doesn't need to reside on DMZ (and as far as I know, I can't place it on DMZ either as it's in the same subnet as the other ip's I have. Could I have missed anything? I am using PIX Version 8.0(4) My current running config looks like this: http://pastebin.com/TvRFyDrF Hope someone can help me get this working.

    Has anyone come across software that can do this successfully/reliably? I would like to set up my Nexus 7 tablet on a stand under my monitor and use it with the mouse/KB hooked up to my desktop so I can continue to use it while using my desktop without having to pick it up. I was able to find one application which claims to do this (PC Loves Android), but reviews on the Google Play store do not seem to favor it.

    On windows server 2003 there was an option to allow a resource to interact with the desktop, this allowed you to run computer management mmc snap-in on the virtual name of the cluster, allowing you to manage permissions of the private message queues on the cluster. Windows Server 2008 failover clustering has removed that checkbox, so applications can no longer interact with the desktop. My question is then how does one go about managing private queue permissions on the clustered (the virtual name) server?

  • Strange behavior when changing default shell, and setting explorer.exe as winlogon shell for specific user

    I use a custom logon shell on a machine (windows 7) for security reasons - which works fine by altering HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\shell. However, I also want that the administrator will still be able to manage the machine, so I modified the user specific key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\shell back to explorer.exe - but when I log on I get a single windows explorer window, and not the full desktop. does any one know how to configure the normal desktop shell only to a specific user?

    I have followed this document on cisco site to set up the L2TP over IPsec connection. When I try to establish a VPN to ASA 5505 from my Windows XP, after I click on "connect" button, the "Connecting ...." dialog box appears and after a while I get this error message: Error 800: Unable to establish VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection. ASA version 7.2(4) ASDM version 5.2(4) Windows XP SP3 Windows XP and ASA 5505 are on the same LAN for test purposes. Edit 1: There are two VLANs defined on the cisco device (the standard setup on cisco ASA5505). - port 0 is on VLAN2, outside; - and ports 1 to 7 on VLAN1, inside. I run a cable from my linksys home router (10.50.10.1) to the cisco ASA5505 router on port 0 (outside). Port 0 have IP 192.168.1.1 used internally by cisco and I have also assigned the external IP 10.50.10.206 to port 0 (outside). I run a cable from Windows XP to Cisco router on port 1 (inside). Port 1 is assigned an IP from Cisco router 192.168.1.2. The Windows XP is also connected to my linksys home router via wireless (10.50.10.141).   • Problem upgrading kernel on debian 3.1

    Hi, I have a quite old box in a remote server farm. So I have no direct access. Only remote SSH (and via SSH to a serial console). I haven't updated this box in ages. Now, whenever I want to install a new package, a dependency to glibc appears. Unfortunately, the install of glibc depends on a 2.6 kernel and I am running a venerable 2.4 kernel (one more reason to upgrade). The problem is, that the install of a new kernel has an indirect (over locales) dependency to glibc. So, to install glibc, I need a new kernel. For a new kernel, I need to upgrade glibc. Essentially I am blocked. What's the best way to proceed considering I have no "hardware" access?     I've had the desire to move to Linux for desktop computing for some time, as the OS just suits me, I think, better than Windows. I've not yet moved from Windows for a few reasons: It's used in my workplace. I have an extensive application base that does whatever I need (and they're all on a portable hdd) I am familiar developing software on Windows. So, what about Linux keeps you from moving to it, or what does your current desktop OS offer that Linux does not?

  • Keep rainmeter from minimizing

Just been playing around with Rainmeter and I notice that if I want to go look at my desktop and I click on the bottom right square in win7 that minimizes to the desktop, the rainmeter "gadget" gets minimized as well, not letting me read what I want to see. Is there something I can configure to make it stay up? Thanks!

  • SSL Ajax type of certificate for the static domain (image + js)

    Hi, I have a page that is SSL and has a valid certificate extended. (mainpage.com) But this page request some static content to another domain(page-static.com), basicly images and js. Actually i have only a certificate for my mainpage.com. So now when i request this page i get invalid ssl page because it contains invalid encrypted data (the one provided by the www.page-static.com) What kind of certificate do i need for the www.page-static.com. Do i need the same one as the mainpage.com, because this certificate are expensive (it's a extended certificate). Or a cheap certificate from godaddy will do the trick. This is another question do both certificates have to be signed by the same root provider and/or the same encryption key length (or it can be only 128 bits)? Thanks for your help
