• Best way to attach row from datagrid to EF.

  Using MVVM and EF...I have a datagrid binding to a View Model (using ObservableCollection). The view model has a save command which simply calls the SaveChanges command of the Data Context. However, when a user adds a new row to the datagrid, the new entity is detached. Is there any easy way to automatically attach it when it gets created.   Hi All, I have a bit of code that works with a result set called "result" (original I know) but depending on the incoming variable I'd like to fire the specific query depending. I have the below in an if statement but that just makes the "result" recordset gets those nasty red lines and it doesn't work.   Since most of the convenience functions of QGraphicsScene and QGraphicsItem (such as items(), collidingItems(), childItems() etc.) return a QList you're forced to do lots of qgraphicsitem_cast or static_cast and QGraphicsItem::Type() checks to get hold of the actual items when you have lots of different type of items in the scene. I thought doing lots of subclass casts were not a desirable coding style, but I guess in this case there are no other viable way, or is there?   I have a requirement to filter a list of Clients based on if they haven't had any jobs booked in the last x months. In my code I have two lists, one is my Clients and the other is a filtered List of Jobs between today and x months ago and the idea is to filter Clients based on their id not appearing in the jobs list. I tried the following: filteredClients.Where(n => jobsToSearch.Count(j => j.Client == n.ClientID) == 0).ToList(); But I seem to get ALL clients regardless. I can easily do a foreach but this severly slows down the process. How can I filter the client list based on the job list effectively?

• Wordpress parses wp_posts.post_content before rendering?

  I noticed that when I call the the_post() or the_content() function from my wordpress template, it automatically parses the database data to replace new lines with <br/>, wraps the text with <p> tags etc...There's probably some kind of "format" function within the_post() or the_content(). I wrote a query to directly get posts from the wp_posts. I then print it out like <?php $results = $wp->get_results($sql) foreach($results as $row) echo $row->post_content; ?> Clearly, this data is not parsed by wordpress' "format" function. What is the proper way to output this content such that it undergoes the same "formatting" functions as the_post() or the_content()?

  How would I do this? I am trying to count when both arrays have the same value of TRUE/1 at the same index. As you can see, my code has multiple bitarrays and is looping through each one and comparing them with a comparisonArray with another loop.   I've searched and not been able to find the right way of doing what I'm trying to. I read a file line by line and want to create a new object from a regex on each line. I'm not using an XML parser because the data is not well formed and listed below is all I need to get from each line. I can't seem to get scan to return the result of the block. It just returns the original string. • How to optimize indexing of large number of DB records using Zend_Lucene and Zend_Paginator

  So I have this cron script that is deployed and ran using Cron on a host and indexes all the records in a database table - the index is later used both for the front end of the site and the backed operations as well. After the operation, the index is about 3-4 MB. The problem is it takes a lot of resources (CPU: 30+ and a good chunk of memory) and slows the machine down. My question is about how to optimize the operation described below: First there is a select query built using the Zend Framework API, this query is then passed to a Paginator factory that returns a paginator which I am using to balance the current number of items being indexed and not iterate over too much items. The script is iterating over the current items in the paginator object using a foreach loop until reaching the end and then it starts from the beginning after getting items for the next page. I am suspecting this overhead is caused by the Zend_Lucene but no idea how this could be improved.
