  Hey, I want to add a parameter to a URL but currently it isnt showing in the $_GET global. A snippet from my htaccess file is as below: RewriteRule ^account/blogs/([0-9]+)/([^\s?]+)/?$ /account/blog.php?blogId=$1 [L,QSA] Then in my php code i want to add a link such as: /account/blogs/1/ThisIsWhereTheTitleGoes?delete=1 The wildcard (any char but space) option is for the blog title as i never know what it would be. I know want to add a query string param on the end such as ?delete=1. I however dont want this as part of the rewrite. Does anybody know how to so this? Thanks

You can repro it easily with the SimpleRibbon SDK sample.   Hi made attempts to install the Jquery plugin chosen which enables me to customise my <select> tag in all browsers. • Stepping through ASP.NET MVC in Action (2009) - and stuck on nunit issue

  I seem to have missed something - in this step through it talks through downloading nunit and changing the original MSTest reference to NUnit. Which seems fine until it talks about running the test with UnitRun from JetBrains. I would have thought I could run nUnit to be able to run the test - but I load my project in the nUnit gui and I get "This assembly was not built with any known testing framework". This after running the Nunit-2.5.3.9346.msi. Or am I supposed to be able to run tests from within visual studio 2008? After some research I find this: http://www.jetbrains.com/unitrun/ (ie. it seems to be saying this is no longer supported and I'm thinking JetBrains Resharper may cost money?). I'm a little rusty on my NUnit experience. So how do I go ahead and run my test? Is the error message I'm getting considered abnormal? I've added a reference in my MvcApplication.Tests project to the nunit.framework. Is this the wrong reference to add? Thanks :)

  We have implemented a website with the ability for the user to post his actioncode. This then will be checked by the code and when the user has a price the website will Server.Transfer him to another page. The strange thing here is that the user information will be submitted to the database and the actioncode can't be used again. Here we go... I have one user in this database that is inserted twice very fast after the first time he was added. This are the timestamps: 2010-04-23 07:54:41.133 2010-04-23 07:54:41.417 The insert statement is only called once from the code and the user gets Server.Transfered to the Price.aspx page where he sees what price he won. How can it be that this happened? I'm guessing the user hitted F5 but then he had to be very very fast... Thx!

• Potential issue when using memcache session save handler in PHP

  I have two load balanced web servers, and I'm using the memcache session save handler with the save path pointing to two memcache servers. It's configured with session redundancy set to two (the number of memcache servers). So PHP is writing session data to both memcache servers, and when I take one of the servers down, everything seems to work fine since the session data has been written to both memcache servers. The problem seems to happen when I use the app for a while with only the one memcache server up, and then bring the other one back up. My theory is that the memcache server comes back up, and PHP then starts asking it for session data which isn't there since it was written to the other server while this one was down. Is there any merit to this theory? Should PHP be asking both servers for the session data and maybe there's some other problem?

  Hi guys, I feel a little dumb asking this, but here we go... When trying to follow the Recursion example at the following website http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/functions2/, I ran into a road bump that has me perplexed. I altered the code slightly just to get my head around the code in the recursion example and I pretty much have my head around it, but I can't figure out why the variable 'n' increments in 'Pass B' when I have not told the program to increment 'n'.   I am working on a PHP based, ticket management system. While creating a ticket, one can upload an attachment. I want to put a limit (say 10 MB) per file upload. To implement this I plan the following- 1. In php.ini set post_max_size = 10M 2.In PHP script which receives the POST- Since the file is larger than post_max_size, $_FILES[] will be empty. But I can still check the content-length header and discard the upload, if size more than 10M. While testing this I tried uploading a file of 1 GB and analysed the http traffic and this is what I found. - the entire 1 GB data is first uploaded to a to the server temporarily and discarded once the http request completes. Though I couldn't exactly find out where the file was getting saved(as it was not there in the temporary directory in the server.), but my http traffic analyzer showed that the browser did send 1 GB data to the server. - the PHP script execution started only after completion of the http request(i.e after uploading the entire 1 GB) Now I have 2 concerns: a) People may exploit my server bandwidth by trying to upload large file, which I will have to discard anyways. b) Even worse, if someone starts uploading a huge file (say 100 GB), entire 100 GB data is first uploaded to the server temporarily, that means for that period, it will consume that much of memory on my server. What's the common solution for this. Am I missing something here?

• Performance issue finding weekdays over a given period

  I have some methods that return the number of weekdays between two given dates. Since calling these methods become very expensive to call when the two dates lie years apart, I'm wondering how these methods could be refactored in a more efficient way. The returned result is correct but I feel that the iphone processor is struggling to keep up and consequently freezes up the application when I would call these methods over a period of say 10years.   _stuckVertices is an array of pointers and I would like to update one index of that array without using _stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ] 3 times. The reason it is an array of pointers is because the vast majority of the time the pointer will be NULL. The following code works but I need to dereference a each time I use it: void Cloth::stickPoint(int column, int row) { Anchor **a = &_stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ]; if (!*a) *a = new Anchor(this, column, row); (*a)->stick(); } I originally had it written like this, but the _stuckVertices pointer doesn't get updated: void Cloth::stickPoint(int column, int row) { Anchor *a = _stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ]; if (!a) a = new Anchor(this, column, row); a->stick(); } Is there a way to write Anchor *a = _stuckVertices[ index ] so that a is like an alias into the array that I can update, or is something like the first piece of code how I should do this?
