• Can't seem to install imagick

- by PolishHurricane
I'm trying to install the PHP PEAR PECL extension "imagick" (image magick), but failing horribly. It seems that I keed installing packages to progress, but this one has me stumped. It seems to fail all the way at the bottom. Please Note: I'm using ArchLinux, apt-get doesn't save me. [root@Crux tmp]# pecl install imagick downloading imagick-3.0.1.tgz ... • Console keyboard input OOP

- by Alexandre P. Levasseur
I am trying to build a very simple console-based game with a focus on using OOP instead of procedural programming because I intend to build up on that code for more complex projects. I am wondering if there is a design pattern that nicely handles this use case: There is a Player class with a MakeMove() method interacting with the board game. The MakeMove() method has to somehow get the user input yet I do not want to code it into the Player class as this would reduce cohesion and augment coupling. I was thinking of maybe having some controller class handle the sequence of events and thus the calls to keyboard input. However, that controller class would need to be able to handle differently the subclasses of Player (e.g. the AI class does not require keyboard input). Thoughts ?

• Improving WIF’s Claims-based Authorization - Part 3 (Usage)

- by Your DisplayName here!
In the previous posts I showed off some of the additions I made to WIF’s authorization infrastructure. I now want to show some samples how I actually use these extensions. The following code snippets are from Thinktecture.IdentityServer on Codeplex. The following shows the MVC attribute on the WS-Federation controller: [ClaimsAuthorize(Constants.Actions.Issue, Constants.Resources.WSFederation)] public class WSFederationController : Controller or… [ClaimsAuthorize(Constants.Actions.Administration, Constants.Resources.RelyingParty)] public class RelyingPartiesAdminController : Controller In other places I used the imperative approach (e.g. the WRAP endpoint): if (!ClaimsAuthorize.CheckAccess(principal, Constants.Actions.Issue, Constants.Resources.WRAP)) { Tracing.Error("User not authorized"); return new UnauthorizedResult("WRAP", true); } For the WCF WS-Trust endpoints I decided to use the per-request approach since the SOAP actions are well defined here. The corresponding authorization manager roughly looks like this: public class AuthorizationManager : ClaimsAuthorizationManager { public override bool CheckAccess(AuthorizationContext context) { var action = context.Action.First(); var id = context.Principal.Identities.First(); // if application authorization request if (action.ClaimType.Equals(ClaimsAuthorize.ActionType)) { return AuthorizeCore(action, context.Resource, context.Principal.Identity as IClaimsIdentity); } // if ws-trust issue request if (action.Value.Equals(WSTrust13Constants.Actions.Issue)) { return AuthorizeTokenIssuance(new Collection<Claim> { new Claim(ClaimsAuthorize.ResourceType, Constants.Resources.WSTrust) }, id); } return base.CheckAccess(context); } } You see that it is really easy now to distinguish between per-request and application authorization which makes the overall design much easier. • Delegates and Events in C#

- by hakanbilge
Events and their underlying mechanism "Delegates" are very powerful tools of a developer and Event Driven Programming is one of the main Programming Paradigms. Its wiki definition is "event-driven programming or event-based programming is a programming paradigm in which the flow of the program is determined by events?i.e., sensor outputs or user actions (mouse clicks, key presses) or messages from other programs or threads." That means, your program can go its own way sequentially and in the case of anything that requires attention is done (when an event fires) by somebody or something, you can response it by using that event's controller method (this mechanism is like interrupt driven programming in embedded systems). There are many real world scenarios for events, for example, ASP.NET uses events to catch a click on a button or in your app, controller has notice of a change in UI by handling events exposed by view (in MVC pattern). Delegates in C# C# delegates correspond to function pointers in [read more....]

• Speaking at Tech-Ed Europe Next Week

- by Stephen Walther
I’m going to Berlin! Next week, I’m giving talks at Tech-Ed Europe on two of my favorite topics: What's New in Microsoft ASP.NET Model-View-Controller ASP.NET Model-View-Controller (MVC) 2 introduces new features to make you more productive when building an ASP.NET MVC application. Templated helpers allow automatically associatiating edit and display elements with data types. Areas provide a means of dividing a large Web application into multiple projects. Data annotations allow attaching metadata attributes on a model to control validation. Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX: Taking AJAX to the Next Level Hear how ASP.NET AJAX 4.0 makes building pure client-side AJAX Web applications even easier, and watch us build an entire data-driven ASP.NET AJAX application from start to finish by taking advantage of only JavaScript, HTML pages, and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services. Also learn about new ASP.NET AJAX features including the DataView control, declarative templates, live client-side data binding, WCF, and REST integration. The conference has sold out, but you can register for the wait list: http://www.microsoft.com/europe/TechEd/

• Improving SAS multipath to JBOD performance on Linux

- by user36825
Hello all I'm trying to optimize a storage setup on some Sun hardware with Linux. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We have the following hardware: Sun Blade X6270 2* LSISAS1068E SAS controllers 2* Sun J4400 JBODs with 1 TB disks (24 disks per JBOD) Fedora Core 12 2.6.33 release kernel from FC13 (also tried with latest 2.6.31 kernel from FC12, same results) Here's the datasheet for the SAS hardware: http://www.sun.com/storage/storage_networking/hba/sas/PCIe.pdf It's using PCI Express 1.0a, 8x lanes. With a bandwidth of 250 MB/sec per lane, we should be able to do 2000 MB/sec per SAS controller. Each controller can do 3 Gb/sec per port and has two 4 port PHYs. We connect both PHYs from a controller to a JBOD. So between the JBOD and the controller we have 2 PHYs * 4 SAS ports * 3 Gb/sec = 24 Gb/sec of bandwidth, which is more than the PCI Express bandwidth. With write caching enabled and when doing big writes, each disk can sustain about 80 MB/sec (near the start of the disk). With 24 disks, that means we should be able to do 1920 MB/sec per JBOD. multipath { rr_min_io 100 uid 0 path_grouping_policy multibus failback manual path_selector "round-robin 0" rr_weight priorities alias somealias no_path_retry queue mode 0644 gid 0 wwid somewwid } I tried values of 50, 100, 1000 for rr_min_io, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Along with varying rr_min_io I tried adding some delay between starting the dd's to prevent all of them writing over the same PHY at the same time, but this didn't make any difference, so I think the I/O's are getting properly spread out. According to /proc/interrupts, the SAS controllers are using a "IR-IO-APIC-fasteoi" interrupt scheme. For some reason only core #0 in the machine is handling these interrupts. I can improve performance slightly by assigning a separate core to handle the interrupts for each SAS controller: echo 2 /proc/irq/24/smp_affinity echo 4 /proc/irq/26/smp_affinity Using dd to write to the disk generates "Function call interrupts" (no idea what these are), which are handled by core #4, so I keep other processes off this core too. I run 48 dd's (one for each disk), assigning them to cores not dealing with interrupts like so: taskset -c somecore dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mapper/mpathx oflag=direct bs=128M oflag=direct prevents any kind of buffer cache from getting involved. None of my cores seem maxed out. The cores dealing with interrupts are mostly idle and all the other cores are waiting on I/O as one would expect. • Create Orchard Module in a Separate Project

- by Steve Michelotti
The Orchard Project is a new OOS Microsoft project that is being developed up on CodePlex. From the Orchard home page on CodePlex, it states “Orchard project is focused on delivering a .NET-based CMS application that will allow users to rapidly create content-driven Websites, and an extensibility framework that will allow developers and customizers to provide additional functionality through modules and themes.” The Orchard Project site contains additional information including documentation and walkthroughs. The ability to create a composite solution based on a collection of modules is a compelling feature. In Orchard, these modules can just be created as simple MVC Areas or they can also be created inside of stand-alone web application projects. The walkthrough for writing an Orchard module that is available on the Orchard site uses a simple Area that is created inside of the host application. It is based on the Orchard MIX presentation. This walkthrough does an effective job introducing various Orchard concepts such as hooking into the navigation system, theme/layout system, content types, and more. However, creating an Orchard module in a separate project does not seem to be concisely documented anywhere. Orchard ships with several module OOTB that are in separate assemblies – but again, it’s not well documented how to get started building one from scratch. The following are the steps I took to successfully get an Orchard module in a separate project up and running. Step 1 – Download the OrchardIIS.zip file from the Orchard Release page. Unzip and open up the solution. Step 2 – Add your project to the solution. I named my project “Orchard.Widget” and used and “MVC 2 Empty Web Application” project type. Make sure you put the physical path inside the “Modules” sub-folder to the main project like this: At this point the solution should look like: Step 3 – Add assembly references to Orchard.dll and Orchard.Core.dll. Step 4 – Add a controller and view. I’ll just create a Hello World controller and view. Notice I created the view as a partial view (*.ascx). Also add the [Themed] attribute to the top of the HomeController class just like the normal Orchard walk through shows it. Step 5 – Add Module.txt to the project root. The is a very important step. Orchard will not recognize your module without this text file present. It can contain just the name of your module: name: Widget Step 6 – Add Routes.cs. Notice I’ve given an area name of “Orchard.Widget” on lines 26 and 33. 1: using System; 2: using System.Collections.Generic; 3: using System.Web.Mvc; 4: using System.Web.Routing; 5: using Orchard.Mvc.Routes; 6: 7: namespace Orchard.Widget 8: { 9: public class Routes : IRouteProvider 10: { 11: public void GetRoutes(ICollection<RouteDescriptor> routes) 12: { 13: foreach (var routeDescriptor in GetRoutes()) 14: { 15: routes.Add(routeDescriptor); 16: } 17: } 18: 19: public IEnumerable<RouteDescriptor> GetRoutes() 20: { 21: return new[] { 22: new RouteDescriptor { 23: Route = new Route( 24: "Widget/{controller}/{action}/{id}", 25: new RouteValueDictionary { 26: {"area", "Orchard.Widget"}, 27: {"controller", "Home"}, 28: {"action", "Index"}, 29: {"id", ""} 30: }, 31: new RouteValueDictionary(), 32: new RouteValueDictionary { 33: {"area", "Orchard.Widget"} 34: }, 35: new MvcRouteHandler()) 36: } 37: }; 38: } 39: } 40: } Step 7 – Add MainMenu.cs. This will make sure that an item appears in the main menu called “Widget” which points to the module. 1: using System; 2: using Orchard.UI.Navigation; 3: 4: namespace Orchard.Widget 5: { 6: public class MainMenu : INavigationProvider 7: { 8: public void GetNavigation(NavigationBuilder builder) 9: { 10: builder.Add(menu => menu.Add("Widget", item => item.Action("Index", "Home", new 11: { 12: area = "Orchard.Widget" 13: }))); 14: } 15: 16: public string MenuName 17: { 18: get { return "main"; } 19: } 20: } 21: } Step 8 – Clean up web.config. By default Visual Studio adds numerous sections to the web.config. The sections that can be removed are: appSettings, connectionStrings, authentication, membership, profile, and roleManager. Step 9 – Delete Global.asax. This project will ultimately be running from inside the Orchard host so this “sub-site” should not have its own Global.asax. Now you’re ready the run the app. When you first run it, the “Widget” menu item will appear in the main menu because of the MainMenu.cs file we added: We can then click the “Widget” link in the main menu to send us over to our view: Packaging From start to finish, it’s a relatively painless experience but it could be better. For example, a Visual Studio project template that encapsulates aspects from this blog post would definitely make it a lot easier to get up and running with creating an Orchard module. Another aspect I found interesting is that if you read the first paragraph of the walkthrough, it says, “You can also develop modules as separate projects, to be packaged and shared with other users of Orchard CMS (the packaging story is still to be defined, along with marketplaces for sharing modules).” In particular, I will be extremely curious to see how the “packaging story” evolves. The first thing that comes to mind for me is: what if we explored MvcContrib Portable Areas as a potential mechanism for this packaging? This would certainly make things easy since all artifacts (aspx, aspx, images, css, javascript) are all wrapped up into a single assembly. Granted, Orchard does have its own infrastructure for layouts and themes but it seems like integrating portable areas into this pipeline would not be a difficult undertaking. Maybe that’ll be the next research task. :)

• is it a bad practice to call a View from another View in MVC?

- by marcos.borunda
I have some plain Views, they don't have any logic behind them (there is no action or controller behind them), their only propouse is to alert the user about something like "We have sent you an email to confirm your account", "You have no access to this resource", etc... These views are really simple, and calling them through a Controller/Action seems to be too much overhead, but somehow I feel like it is not quite correct. What do you think? How do you handle this kind of situations?? I guess this question will apply to any MVC Framework, but in my case I'm using the ASP.NET MVC 3 framework.

I did a $lspci and it shows the next drivers 03:01.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller 03:01.1 SD Host controller: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 19) 03:01.2 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter (rev 0a) 03:01.3 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd xD-Picture Card Controller (rev 05) Everytime I insert a memory card, dmesg shows the next d status 0x600b00 [ 2687.227351] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 64 [ 2687.229436] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.229440] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 65 [ 2687.230512] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.230515] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 66 [ 2687.231588] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.231592] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 67 [ 2687.232674] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.232678] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 68 [ 2687.234763] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.234766] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 69 [ 2687.236864] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.236868] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 70 [ 2687.238942] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.238946] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 71 [ 2687.238949] Buffer I/O error on device mmcblk0, logical block 8 [ 2687.241028] mmcblk0: retrying using single block read [ 2687.243104] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.243108] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 64 [ 2687.245212] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.245215] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 65 [ 2687.247298] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.247302] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 66 [ 2687.248389] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.248393] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 67 [ 2687.250476] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.250480] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 68 [ 2687.252617] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 [ 2687.252621] end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 69 [ 2687.254737] mmcblk0: error -110 sending read/write command, response 0x0, card status 0x600b00 and more of the same but with different sector number Im using Kernel 3.0.0-12-generic By the way, when I was installing it and ubuntu asks about installation (If I want to install it along with windows or delete something or change the partitions of the HDD) if I go to the window to change the partition of the disc, linux detects the SD Card (if there's one inserted course). Any help with this it would be appreciated -sorry for my english Thank you

• Should all new web projects build their backend based on xml/json result sets?

- by Blankman
If you were building a new Saas project, would it make sense to start with all of the backend services returning xml/json? Because these days you need to build for both the web and mobile devices, and having a backend that is build from the start to return xml and json, you are ready to go mobile (all services have the business logic, so you won't be repeating anything). Now the web would be MVC, so the controller would just be routing the request to your service backend, and converting the json or xml to html. The obviousl downside is that you have to build a backend, and then another web project that calls your backend. But this also goes to you favor as it forces you to seperate your concerns, and not leak business logic in your controller/view layer. Thoughts?

• Is it possible to migrate struts/spring based application to GWT?

- by Satish Pandey
I am using the combination of spring, spring-security, struts and iBatis in my application. Now I am looking to migrate the struts UI to GWT. The new combination must be spring, spring-security, GWT and iBatis. I applied a layered approach to develop my application. In Controller/UI layer i am using Struts. I want to replace struts and use GWT in Controller/UI layer. Is is possible to use GWT without affecting another layers DAO/BL/SL?

• Better drivers for SiS 650/740 integrated video?

- by Bart van Heukelom
I installed Xubuntu 10.10 on an old box today and the graphical performance is horrid. According to lspci, the video card is this: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 65x/M650/740 PCI/AGP VGA Display Adapter (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device 8081 Flags: 66MHz, medium devsel, IRQ 11 BIST result: 00 Memory at f0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=128M] Memory at e7800000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=128K] I/O ports at d800 [size=128] Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel modules: sisfb Is there a way to make it faster? Alternative drivers? The additional drivers tool shows nothing. I'm specifically interested in improving Java's Java2D rendering speed, because I'll be running a "stat screen" written in that language on it.

• Clean way to use mutable implementation of Immutable interfaces for encapsulation

- by dsollen
My code is working on some compost relationship which creates a tree structure, class A has many children of type B, which has many children of type C etc. The lowest level class, call it bar, also points to a connected bar class. This effectively makes nearly every object in my domain inter-connected. Immutable objects would be problematic due to the expense of rebuilding almost all of my domain to make a single change to one class. I chose to go with an interface approach. Every object has an Immutable interface which only publishes the getter methods. I have controller objects which constructs the domain objects and thus has reference to the full objects, thus capable of calling the setter methods; but only ever publishes the immutable interface. Any change requested will go through the controller. So something like this: public interface ImmutableFoo{ public Bar getBar(); public Location getLocation(); } public class Foo implements ImmutableFoo{ private Bar bar; private Location location; @Override public Bar getBar(){ return Bar; } public void setBar(Bar bar){ this.bar=bar; } @Override public Location getLocation(){ return Location; } } public class Controller{ Private Map<Location, Foo> fooMap; public ImmutableFoo addBar(Bar bar){ Foo foo=fooMap.get(bar.getLocation()); if(foo!=null) foo.addBar(bar); return foo; } } I felt the basic approach seems sensible, however, when I speak to others they always seem to have trouble envisioning what I'm describing, which leaves me concerned that I may have a larger design issue then I'm aware of. Is it problematic to have domain objects so tightly coupled, or to use the quasi-mutable approach to modifying them? Assuming that the design approach itself isn't inherently flawed the particular discussion which left me wondering about my approach had to do with the presence of business logic in the domain objects. Currently I have my setter methods in the mutable objects do error checking and all other logic required to verify and make a change to the object. It was suggested that this should be pulled out into a service class, which applies all the business logic, to simplify my domain objects. I understand the advantage in mocking/testing and general separation of logic into two classes. However, with a service method/object It seems I loose some of the advantage of polymorphism, I can't override a base class to add in new error checking or business logic. It seems, if my polymorphic classes were complicated enough, I would end up with a service method that has to check a dozen flags to decide what error checking and business logic applies. So, for example, if I wanted to have a childFoo which also had a size field which should be compared to bar before adding par my current approach would look something like this. public class Foo implements ImmutableFoo{ public void addBar(Bar bar){ if(!getLocation().equals(bar.getLocation()) throw new LocationException(); this.bar=bar; } } public interface ImmutableChildFoo extends ImmutableFoo{ public int getSize(); } public ChildFoo extends Foo implements ImmutableChildFoo{ private int size; @Override public int getSize(){ return size; } @Override public void addBar(Bar bar){ if(getSize()<bar.getSize()){ throw new LocationException(); super.addBar(bar); } My colleague was suggesting instead having a service object that looks something like this (over simplified, the 'service' object would likely be more complex). public interface ImmutableFoo{ ///original interface, presumably used in other methods public Location getLocation(); public boolean isChildFoo(); } public interface ImmutableSizedFoo implements ImmutableFoo{ public int getSize(); } public class Foo implements ImmutableSizedFoo{ public Bar bar; @Override public void addBar(Bar bar){ this.bar=bar; } @Override public int getSize(){ //default size if no size is known return 0; } @Override public boolean isChildFoo return false; } } public ChildFoo extends Foo{ private int size; @Override public int getSize(){ return size; } @Override public boolean isChildFoo(); return true; } } public class Controller{ Private Map<Location, Foo> fooMap; public ImmutableSizedFoo addBar(Bar bar){ Foo foo=fooMap.get(bar.getLocation()); service.addBarToFoo(foo, bar); returned foo; } public class Service{ public static void addBarToFoo(Foo foo, Bar bar){ if(foo==null) return; if(!foo.getLocation().equals(bar.getLocation())) throw new LocationException(); if(foo.isChildFoo() && foo.getSize()<bar.getSize()) throw new LocationException(); foo.setBar(bar); } } } Is the recommended approach of using services and inversion of control inherently superior, or superior in certain cases, to overriding methods directly? If so is there a good way to go with the service approach while not loosing the power of polymorphism to override some of the behavior?

• Controllers in CodeIgniter

- by Dileep Dil
I little bit new to the CodeIgniter framework and this is my first project with this framework. During a chat on StackOverflow somebody said that we need to make controllers tiny as possible. Currently I have a default controller named home with 1332 lines of codes (and increasing) and a model named Profunction with 1356 lines of codes (and increasing). The controller class have about 46 functions on it and also with model class. I thought that Codeigniter can handle large Controllers or Models well, is there any problem/performance issue/security issues regarding this?

• MSR Issue on 12.1 Enterprise Controllers

- by Owen Allen
We've noticed a problem with MSR initialization and synchronization on Enterprise Controllers that are using Java 7u45. If you're running into the issue, these jobs fail with Java errors. Java 7u45 is bundled with Oracle Solaris 11.1 SRU 12, so if you're using that version or if you plan to use it, you should be aware of this issue. There's a simple fix. You can do the fix before upgrading to SRU 12, but you can't do it before you install the Enterprise Controller. First, log on to the Enterprise Controller system and stop the EC using the ecadm command. This command is in the /opt/SUNWxvmoc/bin directory on Oracle Solaris systems and in the /opt/sun/xvmoc/bin directory on Linux systems: ecadm stop -w Then run this command to fix the issue: cacaoadm set-param java-flags=`cacaoadm get-param -v java-flags -i oem-ec | sed 's/Xss256k/Xss384k/'` -i oem-ec And then restart the EC: ecadm start -w Once you apply this fix, you should be set.

• Information about SATA, IDE (PATA) controllers

- by Adam Matan
I have a remote computer on which I want to install a new hard drive for rsync backup. The problem is, I don't know what controller technology is used (PATA, SATA, SATA2, ...) and how many available slots are left. I want to spare me an unnecessary drive just for opening the chassis and looking into wires. How do I query the SATA or PATA controllers? I'm interested in the following points: Which controllers exist in the machine How many (and which) disks are attached to each controller How many available slots are there

• How to setup ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650?

- by Thi An
I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. After installing ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics drivers via Additional Drivers, I checked the status of my VGA card using lspci -v. Here's the output: 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI M96 [Mobility Radeon HD 4650] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device 0456 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 46 Memory at d0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 2000 [size=256] Memory at cfef0000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K] [virtual] Expansion ROM at cfe00000 [disabled] [size=128K] Capabilities: Kernel driver in use: fglrx_pci Kernel modules: fglrx, radeon As mentioned in the title, my VGA card is 1GB and yet my computer only recognizes 256MB. My question is: "How to make my computer fully recognize the capacity of my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 (1GB)?"
