• ApnsPHP in server mode (ApnsPHP_Push_Server)

  Hi, Im using ApnsPHP for push notifications on my server, but it's a little bit slow when you have to send a lot of notifications, so i decided to Run it in the server mode. I just want it to run in cron every 1 hour, check if there are some notifications to be sent, and if yes, run it in 5 processes to be faster. I'm sending updates to my users once a day depending on the timezone they set. So i have to run it every hour, and send messages to timezones that actually have 12:00 PM. Is there any way to do this? I know there is a demonstration but i just have no clue about how to do it. A simple sample will really help. Thank you millions!!

• PHP Curl and Loop based on a numeric value

  Im using the Twitter API to collect the number of tweets I've favorited, well to be accurate the total pages of favorited tweets. I use this URL: http://api.twitter.com/1/users/show/username.xml I grab the XML element 'favorites_count' For this example lets assume favorites_count=5 The Twitter API uses this URL to get the favorties: http://twitter.com/favorites.xml (Must be authenticated) You can only get the last 20 favorties using this URL, however you can alter the URL to include a 'page' option by adding: ?page=3 to the end of the favorites URL e.g. http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=2 So what I need to do is use CURL (I think) to collect the favorite tweets, but using the URL: http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=1 http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=2 http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=3 http://twitter.com/favorites.xml?page=4 etc... Some kind of loop to visit each URL, and collect the Tweets and then output the cotents. Can anyone help with this: - Need to use CURL to authenticate - Collect the number of pages of tweets (Already scripted this) - Then use a loop to go through each page URL based on the pages value?

  This question was also asked in the cocos2d forums but they are a little slower than here. Hi, Im trying to resolve a performance issue in my game. I have all of my game images on the one spritesheet. I now have a score label for which i have generated a font file with the Hiero tool. Ideally I'd like to update my score label with the current score on every update. However there seems to be a significant performance hit when doing so, which i believe is the result of the game images texture and the font texture swapping each update. Can anyone suggest a way to avoid this? Possibly by combining the font images with the game images in the one image file to avoid the texture swapping? Cheers

How do I add search date to the dataString so that I can use that var in my searchdata.php? In searchdata, I can do this $search_word=$_GET['search_word']; and use that var, but so far every time i attempt to alter the dataString, it breaks all the other functionality. Thanks!

• Can obfuscation (proguard) lead to MIDlet malfunction?

  Hi, Im trying to obfuscate a Java MIDlet with proguard. It runs ok on the PC, however, when I run it on the phone, the program opens, connects to the server, and then freezes. If I disable obfuscation, it runs ok again on the phone. Ive tryed all the obfuscation levels for apps (7, 8 and 9 at NetBeans), and none of them seems to work properly, and I cant release this app for comercial use without obfuscation. Also, the compiler throws some warnings: Note: duplicate definition of library class [java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream] Note: there were 14 duplicate class definitions. But I dont know if this is realy the problem. Does anyone knows what is wrong? The obfuscator arguments are listed below: Obfuscator Arguments (7): -dontusemixedcaseclassnames -default package '' -keep public class ** { public *; } Obfuscator Arguments (8): same as (7) plus -overloadaggressively. Obfuscator Arguments (9): same as (8) but -keep public class ** extends javax.microedition.midlet.MIDlet { public *; } instead. Thanks.

• Regex - Modifying strings except in specified enclosures - PHP

  I have found similar answers to my current needs on SO, however I am still trying to grasp modifying strings based on a rule, except in certain enclosures within those strings. Example of what Im trying to accomplish now: preg_replace("/\s*,\s*/", ",", $text) I found the above in many places. It will remove spaces before and after all commas in a string. That works great. However, if I want to exclude modifying commas found within " ", I am not sure how that rule has to be modified. Any help? Thanks! EDIT: I want to clarify my question: I would like all whitespace before and after the commas in the following sentence removed, except commas found in double or single quotes: a, b , c "d, e f g , " , h i j ,k lm,nop Expected result: a,b,c "d, e f g , ",h i j,k lm,nop

• WPF: CollectionViewSource - uneven grouping

  Hi! Im using the WPF-Toolkit DataGrid with an CollectionViewSource as Source. With PropertyGroupDescriptions I can create and display groups in the Grid. My problem is that i cannot create "uneven" groups, like: A A.A A.B B B.A B.B B.B.A B.B.B C D I want some groups that are deeper than other, and some, that are only elements (C and D) and no groups. I hope it is undestandable... Has someone an idea to solve this? Thanks!

  Im writing an ajax web app that uses Comet/Long Polling to keep the webpage up to date, and I noticed in Chrome, it treats the page as if its always loading (icon for the tab keeps spinning). I thought this was normal for Google Chrome + Ajax because even Google Wave had this behaviour. Well today I noticed that Google Wave no longer keeps the loading icon spinning, anyone know how they fixed this?   I have set up a list using this css... #navlist li { list-style-type: none; padding: 7px; float: left; } I have shown the page using jquery ui with other div containers... the page here the page named friend.jsp?all=true Im using a clearing div... .clear { clear:left; overflow:hidden; height:1px; } Now when i use a clearing div i get the page like this... the clearing div is clearing up to the end of the page... but on the 1st tab, that is on the freinds tab, when i m not using a clearing div i get the tab pane with no height... Any help with setting up a css for ui tabs or with setting up the list without float:left thanks Pradyut

  Im using jQuery's getJSONP and I want to log the duration of the call and the size of the response to be able to have some statistics about the usage of my application. This is a cross domain ajax call, so I need to use JSONP, but as the JSONP call is not done with an XMLHttpRequest object, the complete callback from jquery's ajax doesnt pass the response content. So my question is how to get the response size (content lenght) from a JSONP call. $.ajaxSetup( { complete:function(x,e) { log(x.responseText.length, x.responseText); } } here x is a XMLHttpRequest object for a JSON call , but for JSONP call is undefined.

• Quartz2d vector images vs OpenGL vector description?

  How big of a difference is the description language of Quartz2d to OpenGL ES? It seems they are similar in description power... except that Quartz is mostly 2d and that OpenGL is out of the box 3d ( but can be made 2d focused ). Are the mappings from 2dQuartz to 2d OpenGL ES that different? Im sure there must be differences in some specific features that might be handled differently on one vs another... but to do a translator? Anyone have experience with both OpenGL and Quartz2d have some insights?

  I have been developing several Grails applications over the past couple of years. I am increasingly finding that the three grails environments (dev, test, prod) aren't enough to satisfy my needs. The more "enterprisey" your application gets, the more environments you tend to have. I tend to use 6 environments for my development cycle... DEVA //My dev DEVB //Team mates dev CI_TEST //CI like Hudson QA_TEST //Testing team environment UAT_TEST //Customers testing environment PROD //Production Im wondering if there is a way to define custom Grails environments? I dont think there is, but the feature could be handy. The way I am getting around this right now is by externalising the config to a properties file. Id imagine that this is a pretty common requirement, so how have you been dealing with your environments?

• IB not responding to UIImageView moving

  This an incredibly annoying bug. I had a imageView and 2 Labels in a customCell nib. I changed the locations of all of them in the nib and the labels moved, view didn't. I've cleaned my targets, deleted everything relating to it the library, deleted the cell completely, reset the simulator, built it on a different target (3.1.2) and it still compiles the image in the same stupid spot. Can anyone help this is nuts. Sorry for being blunt but completely frustrated. Edit: I have deleted the nib and created it over again by hand, but with the same names. Doesn't fix it. I've checked to see if im moving it somewhere in the code and no dice.

  I know its not possible to define a constructor in a interface. But im wondering why, because i think i could be very useful. So you could be sure that some fields in a class are defined for every implementaiton of this interface. For example consider the following message class: public class MyMessage { public MyMessage(String receiver) { this.receiver = receiver; } private String receiver; public void send() { //some implementation for sending the mssage to the receiver } } If a define a Interface for this class so that i can have more classes which implement the message interface, i can only define the send method and not the constructor. So how can i assure that every implementation of this class really has an receiver setted? If i use a method like setReceiver(String receiver) i can't be sure that this method is really called. In the constructor i could assure it.

• How to retrieve JSON Data Array from ExtJS Store

  Is there a method allowing me to return my stored data in an ExtJS Grid Panel exactly the way I loaded it using: var data = ["value1", "value2"] Store.loadData(data); I would like to have a user option to reload the Grid, but changes to the store need to be taken into account. The user can make changes and the grid is dynamically updated, but if I reload the grid, the data that was originally loaded is shown even though the database has been updated with the new changes. I would prefer not to reload the page and just let them reload the grid data itself with the newly changed store. I guess im looking for something like this: var data = Store.getData(); //data = ["value1", "value2"] after its all said and done. Or is there a different way to refresh the grid with new data that I am not aware of. Even using the proxy still uses the "original" data, not the new store. Thanks in advance

  hello everyone, I picked up a new server to do some testing and need of a little help in setting up my environment at home. Here is what I would like to do: The test server will be used to test new code and configurations for a SaaS product. I would like from my laptop to enter www.acme.com and have it hit the server. The server is connected to a wireless router. I have windows server 2008 with IIS running on an an IP of 192.168.1.4. What is the best way to set this up? I want to hit the test server for www.acme.com and not go out to the internet. Do i need to mess with the LMHosts file? Thanks for the help. Im sure its easy but have never done this before.

  Well, i was looking forward to modify the bit rate of a mp3 file in java. I want to downsample(change its bit rate) the mp3 file from 256/384 kbps to say 64/128 kbps.. (I guess this is the only way one can achieve mp3 compression..or is there any other way.?) I searched for LameOnJ but that website is temperoraly down and so im not able to get the license file which we need to download in every 2 days. Is this possible using JMF..?   In my app, i want to fetch all videos of logged in user i.e. videos that are uploaded by user, videos share by user, user tagged in etc. Currently im using "stream" query as: SELECT created_time, post_id, actor_id, type, updated_time, attachment FROM stream WHERE created_time>1075593600 AND type IN (56, 80, 128, 237, 272) AND source_id=me() limit 10000 As you can see i use "type IN" to fetch required videos but this query is not fetching all videos of mine . I have two videos in 2011 one of which is uploaded and other one is shared.But i m not getting these two. Also in developer.facebook it was written that "Each query of the stream table is limited to the previous 30 days or 50 posts, whichever is greater, however you can use time-specific fields such as created_time along with FQL operators (such as < or ) to retrieve a much greater range of posts." So i tried "created time0" i.e.(1970) and other like timestamp of 2001 but still i m not getting all. Please help..its urgent.Thanks

  Im trying to create a custom version of the RequiredAttribute to replace the built in one and I've got it working for properties that have strings values, but with properties that are DateTime or integer for example, the default RequiredAttribute seems to be applied automatically (IF the property is not nullable!) My problem is that i want to be able to specify a DateTime property as required using my custom required validator which gets the error message from a resources file (I don't want to have to tell the RequiredAttribute the type of the resource file and the key every time i apply it. That is why I'm making a custom one.) How can i prevent the framework from applying the required attribute to properties of type DateTime and int etc without changing them to nullable. Thanks

I call the Canny function that fills me a matrix Canny(src, dst, 220, 299, 3 ); the dst variable is now a Matrix that is according to me of type CV_8UC1, 8bit, 1channel. Now I would like to browse this matrix according to rows and columns, so there was a trick that I've seen on stackoverflow dst.at<uchar*>(3, 5) In my case it crashes.   I wouldn't ask if i wasn't sure that i have 100% no idea why this isn't working, so, in PHP i'm simply trying to update a value in the MySQL database: The field im updating - Name: read - Type: tinyint - Length: 1 Here is the PHP code: do_SQL("UPDATE messages SET read=1 WHERE id='".$id."'"); The do_SQL function is working for everything else, so it's something wrong with this statement. • Firefox fails to detect content type set by PHP

  Hi all, I want a php page to 'display' a pdf. Here is the code: <?php header("Content-type: application/pdf"); readfile('Reportage - Berlin.pdf'); //tried echo(readfile(...)) as well ?> Not very complicated I think, but somehow firefox cant detect that this is a pdf. This works in Safari but in firefox, i get a prompt to download the file, so i get like a pdftest.php file. I know im getting my file because if I rename the extension to pdf, i can open it. This seems too simple! am i missing something?
